Watching her mother’s increasingly strange gaze, Sophia felt she was just making things worse.

Luckily, Juliana didn’t have the mood to argue with her daughter, let out a helpless sigh, and stood up to walk to the cabinet.

"No need to explain, I’m just a nagging old lady!"

Her mom was angry, but it wasn’t on purpose.

She raised her eyes and glared at Evander, complained, "It’s all your fault!"

"Blame me."

Evander admitted with good humor, and while his mother-in-law was grabbing the diapers, he pinched Sophia’s chin and stole a quick kiss, his eyes shimmering with laughter.

"Mom will see us!"

Sophia teased, Evander’s eyes crinkled more with amusement, and he tucked her stray hair behind her ear, chuckling, "She won’t."

"You’re so annoying," Sophia pouted, and when Juliana returned and saw the couple laughing and chatting, she also felt happy.

It’s not that she’s forgetful; as Evander said, Violet is his mother. Although there are grudges, they’ll never avoid each other forever, being awkward all life long isn’t worth it; better to be more gracious.

Juliana walked back to the bed, seeing her grandson was no longer feeding yet her daughter still trying to give him more, she frowned with another sigh of helplessness.

"Soph, the child is full, stop feeding him or he’ll be overstuffed!"

"Oh."

Sophia responded with a smile and playfully scraped her son’s chubby cheek with her fingertip, saying, "So cute."

"Of course!" Juliana picked up her grandson and walked him to the crib, mumbling as she walked.

"Look at whose grandson he is."

Watching her mother attentively change the baby’s diaper, Sophia quietly said to Evander, "Mom’s so narcissistic."

"Not at all, our son is just adorable!"

Evander sneaked another kiss with his wife, knowing his mother-in-law was busy changing diapers, he’d enjoy kissing freely.

Using both lips and tongue, he stirred within Sophia’s mouth for a while before releasing, his brows and eyes filled with laughter, saying, "Wife, thank you."

Juliana spent a long time playing with her grandson before she left, knowing her mother-in-law adored her grandson, Evander suggested having Juliana stay at the hospital.

Juliana waved her hand, saying, "Home is more comfortable, I’m not sick, no need to crowd around with you all."

After sending off his mother-in-law, Evander supported Sophia to walk around the room for a bit, and after some exercise, he helped her lie down on the bed.

He warmed some water and helped Sophia wash her face and feet, then put their son on the bed. The couple watched the little guy sleep soundly for a while before placing him back in the crib.

After washing and getting ready for bed, Evander lay down beside Sophia, extending an arm to hug her.

"How did you handle that woman?" For the first time in days, Sophia brought up the matter.

"Didn’t do much, just had the incident of her hiring the Cowherd exaggerated and posted online." Evander casually said, not mentioning Nathan Moore secretly collecting Quinn Family stocks.

His wife went into early labor because of that affair, fortunately right at their family’s hospital entrance. If anything had happened to mother and son, he wouldn’t let the Quinn Family off easily!

"Oh? Was the response big?" Sophia raised her head, curious.

"Yeah, people online are furious, and they all know our engagement has been called off."

Evander lowered his gaze, meeting Sophia’s eyes, and instinctively raised his other hand, gently stroking her face with his fingertips.

Sophia wrinkled her nose, "Hmph! It’s all your stubborn mom’s fault!"

Evander laughed, "Yes, mom’s stubborn, her son will correct that immediately!"
