"Hmm, nicely done, and then?" Daemon Lancaster picked up his coffee cup, brought it to his lips, took a sip, and asked casually, with his eyes slightly downcast.

Daemon’s appearance was different from his other brothers in the Lancaster Family.

The men of the Lancaster Family have phoenix eyes and fair skin, whereas Daemon Lancaster had thick eyebrows and large eyes with a square face, exuding a masculine aura.

Plus, well-preserved, the man in his sixties looked just like someone in his forties, even younger than Avery Stuart’s husband.

Looking at Daemon Lancaster on the sofa, Mrs. Xu secretly licked her lips and continued speaking.

"Then I helped Madam take the second master to her room, Madam instructed Sister Zhang to teach the second young master. After I finished the call with you, I quietly went upstairs with my phone, intending to secretly capture any sounds, but unexpectedly, Madam opened the door and came out."

"Oh?"

Daemon Lancaster looked up, a coffee cup hovering near his lips, his ink-black eyebrows slightly furrowed. Even just a nasal sound coming from him seemed to command respect.

Avery felt a rush, swallowed her saliva secretly, and stared closely, waiting for Daemon Lancaster to speak.

"Mrs. Xu, did Joseph Lancaster do anything to Violet Zimmerman?"

Daemon Lancaster placed the coffee cup in his hand down, did not glance toward Mrs. Xu.

Secretly swallowing again, Mrs. Xu spoke with a slight stammer.

"Yes, yes, Great Master—Oops, no, I didn’t see Madam do anything with the second master, but right after Madam came out, the bedroom door stayed wide open!"

"Hmm, when you called me, how long did the two of them stay alone in the room?"

Daemon Lancaster picked up a cigar, slid a match against the box, lighting it at his lips.

Avery was about to speak when Victoria Thornton walked out of the kitchen, noticed her husband smoking a cigar so early in the morning, and immediately shouted loudly.

"Coughing so much lately, and you still smoke cigars, Daemon Lancaster, do you not want to live?"

Victoria rushed over and snatched the cigar Daemon had just lit away, tossing it on the marble floor beside the carpet and stomped on it twice.

"Victoria, it’s just a cigar, no need to be so alarmed." Daemon Lancaster looked helplessly at his family’s tigress.

Victoria turned back toward the kitchen, glaring fiercely at Daemon, "It’s not just a cigar, you’re not allowed even a puff!"

Daemon Lancaster smiled toward Victoria, saying nothing more.

Seeing Great Master having no freedom at all being managed by his wife, Mrs. Xu couldn’t help but criticize internally.

The Great Madam really is inconsiderate, married to such a good man, and doesn’t cherish him at all.

Men smoking and drinking is the most normal thing; rarely anyone governs their husband so strictly!

Seeing Avery staring at him with sympathy, Daemon Lancaster coughed into his hand. Avery finally snapped back, an embarrassed smile spread on her face.

"Great Master, it was less than ten minutes after I called you and went upstairs." Ten minutes shouldn’t be enough for anything; even the fastest man needed more than ten minutes, not counting the time for taking off pants.

Daemon Lancaster didn’t ask further questions and just tapped his thick eyebrows, fingertips unconsciously knocking on the sofa, seemingly pondering something.

"Great Master, if there’s nothing else, I’ll head back. I still need to help Sister Zhang prepare breakfast." Avery reminded him with a smile.

Daemon Lancaster returned to attention, nodded, "Head back now. In future, notify me immediately if anything comes up."

"Yes, Great Master, rest assured." Avery agreed warmly, then turned around, took a few steps, and stopped again.

"What is it? Did you remember something else?" Daemon asked casually.

Avery turned back around, her face showed difficulty, hesitating to speak.

"Just go ahead and say it, no harm."

After hesitating for a while, Avery finally stammered, her face a bit flushed, her hands twisted together in discomfort.

"Great Master, it was like this, when I... delivered sober-up soup to the second master..."

"What happened when you delivered the sober-up soup?" Daemon asked anxiously.

Avery gritted her teeth, braced herself, and said.

"I saw the second master’s crotch was... raised!" After finishing, Avery turned and ran out.

Daemon Lancaster frowned, watching Avery’s fleeting figure, pondering for quite some time before understanding what she meant, leaning against the sofa and can’t help but chuckling.

But he became even more puzzled; if there was a reaction, why didn’t anything happen with Violet Zimmerman?

Was it possible that he guessed wrongly? Were they innocent?

It’s impossible; normal uncles and sisters-in-law wouldn’t play around like that, and it’s seen by Mrs. Xu with her own eyes...

She’s just a housekeeper and has no conflicting interest with the main household, hence it’s unlikely she fabricated anything, and Vanessa Quinn also heard it personally...

No way!

Joseph is so cunning, he must have discovered something, that’s why he purposely opened the door to make it look like nothing happened for the housekeeper to see.

Victoria came out of the kitchen with a soup bowl and happened to see Avery coming face-to-face, giving her a questioning glance, and when putting the soup bowl on the dining table, said, "Breakfast is ready."

Gabriel Lancaster got up and walked over, just as he sat down at the dining table, Victoria spoke.

"What did you just say to her, face was so red like a monkey’s butt, Daemon, in future don’t let her come to our place, this Mrs. Xu seems so restless!"

"Victoria, you’re overthinking, I just wanted her to keep an eye on that side for me."

Daemon Lancaster explained kindly, Victoria sat down unhappily, glaring at him.

"What’s there to watch out for, it’s not like the old days anymore, let everyone live their own lives, why meddle in others’ business!"

"Yes, yes, we won’t meddle, no more prying in the future." Daemon Lancaster agreed kindly.

Victoria’s temper was fiery; back when Daemon Lancaster physically struggled with a disability, her parents urged for divorce, she would rather break ties with her family than leave, that’s why Daemon was so tolerant of her.

"Sis, where did you go? Took so long just to throw some trash!" Seeing Mrs. Xu jogging back into the kitchen, Aunt Zhang asked while placing freshly wrapped dumplings onto the steamer.

Mrs. Xu quickly washed her hands under the water pipe and came over to help.

"Didn’t go anywhere, today’s air was good, just went for a little stroll outside."

Seeing Mrs. Xu’s look appeared nothing like "strolling", with a flushed face, slightly rapid breath, more like she just went for a run.

"Did you go on a morning run?" Aunt Zhang asked curiously. Mrs. Xu looked at her slightly stunned, then immediately nodded, "Mm-hmm, did a lap."

"No wonder, your face is so red, looks like a monkey’s butt!"

Aunt Zhang unkindly teased, Mrs. Xu placed the freshly wrapped dumplings into the steamer and instinctively raised a hand to feel her face.

Her face was still burning hot like crazy, seeing the second master’s area last night didn’t cause such a feeling, but speaking to Great Master did...

Blame Great Master, staring directly at her, made her not just embarrassed but her heart pounding nervously.

Mrs. Xu continued helping Aunt Zhang prepare breakfast; all morning long, Daemon Lancaster’s direct gaze appeared in her mind involuntarily.
