Chapter 906: The Wedding
"By the way." Serena Sullivan changed the topic, bringing up another matter, "Ethan bought tickets for the day after tomorrow; we’re going back to Solaria."
"Are you staying in the Imperial Capital, or coming back with us?"
"Of course, I’m going with you guys." Claire Sullivan wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and said firmly.
"The Grant Corporation’s focus is still in Solaria. This time when we go, we might be spending most of our time there."
"Mom, are you sure you want to come along?"
Serena didn’t make things very clear; she was subtly hinting for Claire to consider her relationship with Simon Sterling.
These two people are already of such an age; they can’t keep being at odds like this forever!
"Hmm!" Claire nodded, "Wherever you go, I will follow."
"It’s not that Ethan doesn’t want me to come along, is it?"
"Ethan wouldn’t dare!" Serena laughed. Outside, Ethan Grant and Simon Sterling were on equal footing, but at home, Ethan not only had to pamper his wife but also please his father-in-law and mother-in-law.
"That’s good." Claire replied, "I’ll go with you."
Serena watched as Claire got in the car first, without laying everything out in the open.
Claire and Simon Sterling are adults; their issues don’t require her interference.
"You’re going back to Solaria?"
After work, Simon Sterling and Wyatt Sterling came by. Hearing that Serena was going back to Solaria and taking Claire with her, neither of them was pleased.
"Hmm!" Serena replied lightly while picking up some food.
Simon pretended not to hear and looked at Ethan Grant next to Serena, "Ethan Grant, was this your idea?"
Suddenly being called out, Ethan Grant forced a smile; here, his status was really not that great!
"Dad, Ethan’s been in the Imperial Capital for too long. The Grant Corporation is essentially in Solaria."
"Then just move the Grant Corporation to the Imperial Capital."
Simon Sterling said dismissively.
"Cough, cough!"
Right after Simon finished speaking, Wyatt quickly coughed to express his opposition.
If the Grant Corporation really came to the Imperial Capital, wouldn’t they be competing for business with them?
Don’t be fooled by how obedient Ethan Grant seems at home; outside, he shows no leniency to the Sterling family. His true businessman nature is fully revealed.
"The Grant Corporation has always been in the Imperial Capital; it can’t be moved." Serena responded calmly, speaking for Ethan Grant. "We’ll come back to the Imperial Capital by the New Year."
"New Year!"
Simon’s beautiful face hardened with anger; there was still more than half a year until the New Year, meaning he’d go that long without seeing his daughter!
"No, I don’t agree."
Simon thought it over and opposed, "Your grandfather and your uncle won’t agree either."
"I’ve already talked with Grandpa and Uncle." Ethan Grant replied with a smile. Seeing Simon’s cold glare at him, he didn’t get scared but instead smiled even more, "They agreed."
Simon was so upset by Ethan Grant’s words that his face turned even more severe. He had always disliked Ethan Grant, thinking that since he was engaged to Serena, they were already family!
"You and Serena aren’t officially married."
Yes, because of objections from the Sterling family, Serena Sullivan and Ethan Grant were only engaged.
"That’s exactly why we need to go back."
Ethan Grant said, passing some food to his angry father-in-law, "Dad, I’m going back to Solaria to prepare the wedding. Then, I’ll invite you and my brother to the ceremony."
They’re going back not just to celebrate The Matron Grant’s birthday, but more importantly, to settle their wedding details.
Ethan Grant didn’t want Serena to be wronged any longer.
Before Simon could unleash his anger again, Ethan Grant softened his voice and said, "I only got engaged with Serena, so I’ve always felt guilty towards her."
"Dad, Mom, I want to give Serena a grand wedding. Please trust me with her; I’ll take good care of her!"
