Pearl Chambers was taken aback, instinctively reaching into her pocket to touch the phone inside. When she looked up, she saw Finn Chandler mocking her and realized Finn was testing her.

The reason Pearl Chambers was doing this was she was trying to get Finn Chandler to slip up.
