Chapter 927: I Disagree
The Ford Family is one of the four major families in Solaria.
Julian Ford, like Ethan Grant and Carter Lockwood, entered his family business early and gradually took control of the group’s power. Unlike the others, Julian Ford had a smoother path. He had an older sister, but she was only the adopted daughter of the Eldest Master Ford, working at The Ford Corporation, yet she would never have the chance to sit in the position of authority, not even holding shares of The Ford Corporation.
Moreover, the family of the Eldest Master Ford’s wife was also powerful, making Julian Ford’s life smooth since birth without any storms or turbulence.
Compared to the first time meeting Julian Ford’s family, Finn Chandler felt much calmer.
There were very few reports about Mrs. Ford, and not many about the Eldest Master Ford either.
Finn Chandler felt that, to raise a son like Julian Ford, the Wife of the Eldest Master Ford had to be a wise woman, so the Eldest Master Ford couldn’t be too bad! However, sometimes feeling too good can be wrong.
Contrary to Finn Chandler’s thoughts, the Eldest Master Ford’s expression turned cold and stern when he saw Julian Ford bringing Finn Chandler in, showing no cordiality.
Finn Chandler greeted him with a smile, but he ignored it, either speaking to Julian Ford or Fiona Ford. This attitude puzzled Finn Chandler as he had just met the Eldest Master Ford and hadn’t offended him.
"Dad, I’m already arranging the wedding," Julian Ford spoke without formality to the Eldest Master Ford. Bringing Finn Chandler here was certainly not to seek his consent.
To father such a handsome son as Julian Ford, the Eldest Master Ford, who was over fifty, also had a remarkably good-looking face, appearing in his forties albeit bearing too much authority. Just one glance revealed him to be the kind who often kept a stern face, intent on suppressing others. Reflecting on the tranquil Wife of the Eldest Master Ford, Finn Chandler felt the two did not quite match!
"I don’t agree with your marriage!" Julian Ford was straightforward, and so was the Eldest Master Ford.
"Oh!" Julian Ford’s expression remained unchanged, with a hint of smile on his lips.
"Firstly, her background is inadequate." Chloe Finch’s identity, which Julian Ford later fabricated from the foundations of Finn Chandler’s, led the Eldest Master Ford to discover that "Chloe Finch" was one of Mr. Chambers’ illegitimate daughters.
Mr. Chambers had so many lovers and illegitimate daughters, even he couldn’t remember who was who, let alone anyone else.
"Secondly, she’s pregnant before marriage; clearly an improper woman."
"We, in the Ford Family, do not accept a woman without family background, who cannot present herself well."
Finn Chandler felt discomfort at heart listening. What does it mean not being able to present oneself well! Why blame the woman for pregnancy before marriage? If Julian Ford hadn’t been proactive, how could she have a child? How can all the blame be placed on the woman!
However, Finn Chandler didn’t retort as Julian Ford finished speaking, he reached out to hold her hand.
Julian Ford’s smile did not fade but grew wider; he wasn’t upset at all by the Eldest Master Ford’s opposition because he simply didn’t care. Perhaps seven or eight years ago, he might have cared about the Eldest Master Ford’s objections with anger. Now... what’s there to be angry about!
"Isn’t pregnancy before marriage a good thing?" Julian Ford smiled, "Dad, in a few months, you’ll be holding a grandson! Are you sure you don’t want that?"
Upon hearing this, the Eldest Master Ford paused. Holding a grandson! It had been on his mind for years! Sadly, before, there wasn’t even a shadow of a grandson, let alone any sight.
Thinking about this, the Eldest Master Ford glanced at Finn Chandler’s abdomen, his eyes gleaming.
A grandson, this was his grandson!
