Chapter 1164 - 1165: The House Has Been Occupied
The two of them finished shopping, and only around three or four in the afternoon did they lazily take a car to The Morgan Family’s house.
On the way, Mrs. Monroe couldn’t help asking Anna Morgan, "Anna, how are we going to talk to him later?"
"What if he says The Morgan Corporation doesn’t have much capital, and all the shares are in other people’s hands?" Mrs. Monroe had no idea how many properties were under Miles Morgan’s name.
She had devoted herself completely to Miles and The Morgan Family, and had never paid attention to the assets under his name.
When she found out Miles was cheating, all she thought about was salvaging the marriage, not tallying up their joint assets and fighting for the greatest benefit for herself.
Thinking of the advice Mrs. Ford had given her when she came to see her before, Mrs. Monroe deeply regretted it now.
"It’s all my fault. I only knew how to cry and make scenes and threaten suicide." Mrs. Monroe sighed.
She had even tried to kill herself twice.
To die for a man who doesn’t love you is really the stupidest thing in the world.
Besides, if she died, wouldn’t that just be benefiting that pair of dogs, while her poor daughter and son would be the ones to suffer.
"Mom." Anna squeezed Mrs. Monroe’s hand and comforted her. "Let’s not bring up the past anymore."
"Don’t worry, I’ve got a trump card."
Her trump card was Carter Lockwood.
On the way over, Carter had called her and said he’d arranged for someone to come help her.
She didn’t know who Carter had arranged.
No matter who it was, Anna trusted Carter’s abilities.
Hearing Anna sounding so full of confidence, Mrs. Monroe couldn’t help but smile a little.
"If only your brother could think as clearly as you do."
Mrs. Monroe brought up Eldest Master Monroe again. The pair of children she’d raised had both been spoiled rotten. Just like her, as soon as they ran into some setbacks, they couldn’t handle it.
Speaking of Eldest Master Monroe, Anna thought to herself that for such a useless brother, she really should’ve kicked him a few more times back then.
Once Miles’s matter was settled, she’d go over and beat him up again.
Very soon, Mrs. Monroe and Anna arrived at The Morgan Family’s house. As they entered, they saw the servants’ faces change.
"Madam, Miss, you’re back."
As the servant spoke, she turned her head to look behind her.
"Mm." Mrs. Monroe responded and led Anna in quickly.
Now that the two of them had come to the house, Miles would rush back.
"Madam, Miss, please wait a moment before you go in." The servant caught up to Mrs. Monroe and Anna, stopping them.
This made Anna frown. "What? We have to get your permission to enter our own home now?"
"No." The servant hurriedly explained, "It’s because sir is inside. I have to go in and inform sir first."
As she said this, the servant’s gaze flickered—one look and it was obvious she was lying.
She wasn’t going in to report to Miles.
Miles was still at the company and hadn’t come back yet.
She was going to talk to someone else.
Mrs. Monroe let out a cold, mocking laugh. She understood what the servant meant.
"Miles and I aren’t divorced yet."
She was still Mrs. Monroe. And that woman inside—what the hell did she count as!
Mrs. Monroe lifted her head and saw a pair of "sister blossoms" coming out from the building in front. All she felt, besides anger, was disgust.
She hadn’t even finished the divorce procedures with Miles, and he had already brought his mistress here to live.
"Mom, let’s go in and wait for Miles to come back." Anna picked up where Mrs. Monroe left off. Likewise, when she saw the Preston sisters, she felt like she’d just swallowed a fly.
Back when Eldest Master Monroe had brought Ivy Preston home for a meal, she’d been calling her "Sister Ivy" this and "Sister Ivy" that. Thinking about it now, it was downright nauseating.
Ignoring the servant’s attempt to stop them, Anna and Mrs. Monroe slowed their steps and walked inside.
Ivy stood at the entrance of the hall without moving, but her younger sister Riley Preston rushed over.
"You useless thing, how could you let outsiders in?"
Riley snapped at the servant.𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
