Cecilia Vaughn’s delicate brows knitted almost imperceptibly as she looked up, the sight of Chloe Alden’s beautiful yet harsh face instantly entering her vision.

Cecilia sarcastically flicked her fingers, smiling sweetly at Chloe, though her voice was almost chillingly cold.

"Does having a Flower Protector matter? After all, Adrian Law personally brought me here. As for you, Eldest Miss Alden, if I’m not mistaken, aren’t you the one who came here alone?"

Everyone in Stellerton knows that although Mayor Alden’s daughter is good-looking, she has an extremely poor personality and often mingles in various nightclubs.

The worst part is, Chloe is blind as a bat and likes to stand next to Fiona Vaughn. Compared to that fragile and saintly figure, Chloe can only seem uglier, as if it’s a miracle if she finds a decent boyfriend.

...

Being retorted by Cecilia this way, Chloe Alden’s face instantly crumbled.

"You... you’re talking nonsense... I just wanted some alone time, that’s all! Earlier at the parking area, I don’t know how many wealthy heirs were asking for my contact info!"

"Oh, you’re so popular? Isn’t that great..."

Cecilia kept nodding with a smile, yet her piercing gaze made Chloe feel guilty.

Chloe felt extremely embarrassed by Cecilia’s all-knowing expression, and as if trying to prove what she said, she casually pointed at the back of a young man dressed in a black tuxedo.

"Don’t believe me? Do you see that guy in the black tuxedo? He was just flattering me and inviting me for a Christmas dinner!"

Chloe is both evil and foolish, and unlike Fiona, she doesn’t have a naturally good acting chops. Her stammering sentence gave Cecilia a good idea.

Lying and bragging.

Cecilia was too lazy to unmask this woman and casually nodded, letting her gaze follow Chloe’s direction toward the young man’s back.

Although his face wasn’t visible, he seemed to have rarely seen flaxen hair, tall and slender, seemingly about Adrian’s height, with a back that looked particularly handsome and youthful.

However, looking at him, he somehow seemed familiar...

Cecilia blinked in confusion, but unfortunately, he never turned his face toward her, making it difficult to discern.

Seeing Cecilia staring at that young man, Chloe felt even more insecure, hastily trying to change the subject, while lifting her chin arrogantly.

"See? That’s my Flower Protector! I haven’t decided whether to accept his invitation to the Christmas date yet!"

Cecilia shifted her gaze to Chloe’s cocky face, unable to hold back a smile.

She wasn’t interested in continuing to argue with such a spoiled princess and decided to stand up and leave.

However, at that precise moment, a voice filled with surprise came from behind.

"Classmate Vaughn? You’re here too?"

Cecilia turned around, taken aback, catching sight of an exceptionally handsome face.

If one were to call him a man, it would be more accurate to say a boy, only seventeen or eighteen, the same age as Cecilia’s brother Evan Vaughn. With rare flaxen short hair, dressed in a black tuxedo, exuding a refined temperament, his eyes were clear and brilliant, with a glassy quality tinged with slight gloom.

Moreover, his complexion was even fairer than Cecilia’s, resembling a vampire noble unafraid of sunlight.

——Unexpectedly meeting Stellerton University’s fellow school festival heartthrob Sean Grant at Fiona Vaughn’s wedding venue.

What a rarity.

...

The funniest part is that Chloe had just pointed at that young man who turned out to be Sean.

And Cecilia, stifling her laughter, mischievously waved at Sean to coax him over.

"I’m Fiona Vaughn’s sister, by the way, Grant, what brings you here?"

Sean Grant raised his eyes coolly, his tone somewhat aloof.

"Maybe because I know Old Mr. Sorenson Dodge."

Cecilia suddenly understood.

No wonder, at the last charity gala, Fiona was also present, and demonstrating humility by befriending a young up-and-comer like Sean shows how highly esteemed Old Mr. Dodge is. Sean’s future is promising.

Fiona, being such a savvy character, clearly wanted to expand her connections while Sean was not yet famous, striving to build ties first.

...

Chloe Alden was dumbfounded seeing the two converse.

Being someone who couldn’t hide her emotions, she was almost immediately embarrassed enough to wish to bury herself somewhere.

"You two know each other?"

Cecilia smiled softly, "Classmates, and Grant is also our cohort’s heartthrob. Eldest Miss Alden, don’t tell me you don’t know him?"

Chloe gave an awkward laugh, seemingly unsure how to respond.

She had randomly picked a silhouette that seemed handsome and dashing to elevate herself, not expecting it to be someone Cecilia knew!

"Since that’s the case, you two chat."

Seeing Chloe turning to leave, Cecilia’s eyes crinkled with laughter. Meanwhile, she playfully blinked at Sean, her voice teasing.

"Eldest Miss Alden, don’t leave just yet; didn’t you just say Grant here wanted to invite you to a Christmas date dinner?"

Sean Grant was taken aback, those translucent, melancholic eyes only then settling on Chloe.

"Christmas, date?"

A mere five words yet conveyed sheer unfamiliarity and disdain.

Chloe felt uncomfortable being stared at by Sean like that.

Though Sean was incredibly handsome, no less stunning compared to Adrian Law, this defiant, mixed-race face somehow unnerved her.

Especially those glassy eyes.

"Pretty boy, what are you staring at?! Can’t I make a joke?! Acting as if I’m taking advantage of you, tsk..."

"Look at me again, and I’ll dig those eyes out! Damn, what strange eye color, like you’re some ghost on your way to hell!"

Chloe often acted the part of a young lady aristocrat and showed no restraint to Sean, the Vessarian mixed-race boy.

Glaring fiercely and ranting a bit more, she stormed off.

Having heard about the new school festival king at Stellerton University, she only considered him an orphan with no special background, just some guy who knows how to draw. She wasn’t scared.

...

Sean Grant probably had never been subjected to such sarcasm; his face tensed, the whole demeanor iced over.

Since this whole incident was kind of her fault, Cecilia felt apologetic.

"Classmate Grant, I’m sorry, don’t mind words from such a spoiled girl. If anyone’s going to hell, it’s her type."

Sean took a deep look into Cecilia’s eyes, before slightly releasing his sullen expression.

"You’re right."

Staring at Cecilia for a solid three seconds, Sean’s eye color indeed could rather unsettle someone, as Cecilia suddenly understood Chloe’s sentiments.

Just as Cecilia was preparing to change the subject, the sound of the cruise horn suddenly echoed!

The wedding is about to begin!
