Chapter 449: Tearing Off His Fig Leaf
Cecilia Vaughn only wanted to add to Fiona Vaughn’s troubles, but she didn’t want to create any unpleasantness with Adrian Law because of it.
After speaking, she solemnly grasped Adrian Law’s hand.
"Adrian, if you don’t like it, I won’t go."
Tyson Law’s previously gleeful expression instantly darkened, as he silently watched the sight of Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law with fingers interlocked. The pain in his heart seemed to grow even more.
So bitter, so sour.
...
Adrian Law calmly took in Tyson Law’s painful expression, trusting his wife completely. Soon he nodded and whispered softly in Cecilia Vaughn’s ear.
"Cecilia, my father sent someone to call me earlier, I’m going to see him now, it might take a while. Chat with Tyson, then wander around and enjoy the sea views. Rest in your room when you’re tired."
Cecilia Vaughn’s eyes gleamed with a starry affection, and she nodded obediently, hugging Adrian Law once more.
"Okay, I understand."
Adrian Law cast a deep gaze toward Cecilia Vaughn, and then coldly glanced over at Tyson Law.
"Remember, she is your sister-in-law, now and forever, that will never change."
The decisive words left no room for ambiguity.
This made Fiona Vaughn, sitting paralyzed on the ground, consumed with jealousy, while Tyson Law felt the bitterness in his heart painfully deepening.
Cecilia Vaughn alone blinked her lashes, feeling a trace of sweetness in her heart.
...
Adrian Law left.
Cecilia Vaughn didn’t feel like moving much either, so she simply walked with Tyson Law to the outside of the banquet hall, leaving Fiona Vaughn alone in the hall to cry out loud.
Upon hearing Fiona Vaughn’s pretentious crying, Cecilia Vaughn’s ears hurt, and her expression was somewhat mocking as she coldly looked askance at Tyson Law.
"Just say what you need to say clearly and early, or else your wife might cry until her throat is ruined."
Your wife...
For the first time, Tyson Law found those three words so grating.
He laughed forlornly, feeling the salty and cold sea breeze blowing in from the ocean, and didn’t know whether his heart was colder than the seawater.
"Cecilia, do you really have to speak to me with such a distant tone?"
"What else? Come on, back then you chose Fiona Vaughn. Now, are you going to turn around and tell me that you regret it?"
Cecilia Vaughn laughed, crossing her arms as the sea wind blew her head painfully. She originally had wanted to enjoy the night scenery a bit, but her mood was thoroughly ruined by Tyson Law’s displeasing face and Fiona Vaughn’s annoying crying.
...
In that moment, Cecilia Vaughn exposed the truth of Tyson Law’s heart, leaving him mumbling with an utterly embarrassed expression.
He looked at Cecilia Vaughn’s cold and indifferent face, and his mind suddenly returned to the past — when school let out, she’d sit behind him on his bicycle, both laughing and playing, during those bright and carefree youthful days.
Why did Cecilia now stare at him with such piercing eyes?
Tyson Law felt very upset and deeply sighed. His gaze was somewhat hopeful yet filled with mourning, as he looked at Cecilia Vaughn.
"Cecilia, are you mocking me because there’s still some feeling left for me, right? You still care about me, right?"
Without love, how could there be hate?
What he feared most was that one day Cecilia Vaughn would not even harbor hatred for him anymore, seeing him simply as a passerby, moving past him like a leaf drifting by without notice.
...
Hearing Tyson Law lower his posture and speak in a somewhat humble tone made Cecilia Vaughn feel neither joy nor victorious pride, only intense disgust.
She was so repulsed by his words that it gave her goosebumps, causing her to frown in extreme annoyance.
"Tyson Law, are you trying to act like a romantic hero in front of me now?"
Romantic hero?
Tyson Law flinched, his heart slightly stirred, as he drew a deep breath, unable to bear it.
"Cecilia, can’t you give me a less harsh assessment? I’m begging you, be fair with me. I only realized now that our past was the purest and best time. I once misjudged people, and that’s why I let Fiona... that woman deceive me."
Tyson Law felt both embarrassed and awkward, and Cecilia Vaughn looked at him coldly, treating Tyson Law as nothing more than a joke.
"So easily deceived by her! Tyson Law, the woman you speak of is already three months pregnant with your child!"
"You once pleaded with me to bless your sacred and pure love. How did everything change so quickly, and now you come to me complaining, hoping to divorce her?"
Cecilia Vaughn suddenly felt that she’d never truly understood this man.
He was inherently spineless to such a degree...
Even if Fiona Vaughn had countless faults, for Tyson to get involved with her back then, could he shirk all responsibility just by claiming he was blind, poor at judging people?
Probably many men are fickle, even if overtaken by lust, they’d blame it on women seducing them into submission.
...
"If I were to divorce Fiona Vaughn now, the child..."
Tyson Law started speaking with determination, but his voice grew quieter, his expression dimming, and his throat full of bitterness.
His thoughts were chaotic — sometimes it was Fiona Vaughn’s tear-streaked sorrowful face, other times it was Cecilia Vaughn glaring at him in interrogation.
If not for Fiona Vaughn’s pregnancy, he wouldn’t hesitate to divorce.
It’s typical double standards. When he cheated with Fiona Vaughn, Tyson Law never felt much guilt towards Cecilia Vaughn, but if Fiona Vaughn possibly cheated on him, that’s a massive injustice, one he couldn’t accept.
...
Cecilia Vaughn saw through Tyson Law’s cold and selfish nature, watching his forlorn expression that wouldn’t dissipate as she addressed him with voice as frosty as ice.
"Tyson Law, let me advise you as a man to not push away your responsibility. Your love and hate with Fiona Vaughn is not something I’m interested in understanding, nor am I interested in taking over."
"You once said that she was the only one for you, and you’d remain devoted no matter what. Now why quibble over this little thing? You’re not some sincere nobleman, I wish you both lifelong happiness, and never come back to disgust me again!"
With these words, Cecilia Vaughn decisively turned away.
"Cecilia, please don’t go—"
Tyson Law’s face turned pale, as he deliriously attempted to stop Cecilia Vaughn, but his legs felt like they were weighed down with iron blocks, unable to move.
He had been exposed by Cecilia Vaughn’s words, embarrassed beyond words.
The former beauty, it couldn’t be returned to...
...
Cecilia Vaughn was heading to the top of the cruise ship to enjoy the view, but as she turned the corner, the sound of crisp high heels approached, and a cup of cappuccino suddenly splashed towards her.
"Cheap woman! You’ve married The Eldest Young Master Law, yet shamelessly seduced Tyson into divorcing to marry you!"
Cecilia Vaughn hadn’t expected anyone to be hiding at the staircase corner, unable to dodge in time, seeing Chloe Alden’s angry face, her expression immediately turned icy cold.
"Chloe Alden, what’s gotten into you!"
