Trina stood there frowning at the scoreboard before shaking her head and pumping a fist toward Klaus.

The crowd jumped from their seats like a pushed tide, and Klaus’s smile widened, reaching his ears.

She turned around and pointed to the left as she walked back behind the curtains.

Klaus followed her hand, and his gaze landed on a single doorway at the far left of the stadium.

He instantly rose to his feet and began walking toward it, but as he did so, the audience also rose and scattered around as the wide screen was now displaying a break timer of five minutes.

"Excuse me," he said as the crowd pushed at him from front and back, and his expression turned worried for a second.

For a while, he let the crowd shake him around, and then he narrowed his eyes and weaved through them like a snake slithering past obstacles.

No one touched him as he nearly became a ghost within them, and just a few moments later, he stopped before the doorway that Trina had pointed at.

’It’s like a pig pen,’ he remarked inwardly as he furrowed his brows in distaste and stepped past the doorway.

Past the doorway was a corridor leading deep inside the university building and toward the waiting area, training room, and other facilities for the students taking part in the events.

Banners saying: "Opalstar University Annual Event 2025" hung from the ceilings, and pictures of previous years’ events filled the left and right white walls.

"No one’s here?" He frowned and walked further down the corridor; the sound of his boots hitting the tiled floor echoed.

After a few steps, he reached the end and turned his head to the left, then to the right, and fell into thought.

Before him were two directions to walk: left and right, and he needed to take the correct one to meet Trina.

The obvious answer was left because that way he would walk toward the back of the stage, but he didn’t know if Trina was still there, and she still wasn’t picking up his calls.

After a long while of thinking, he simply shrugged and walked to the left.

’Even if I don’t find Trina there, I can ask a different student to help him.’

As he stepped further down the left corridor, his gaze landed on a sign with bold red text that read: ALLOWED ONLY

He stared at it, his hands slid into the pockets of his pants, and he chuckled, "I don’t think anyone can unallow me anyway."

The champion of the Female Taekwondo Tournament had invited him, so he had more than enough right to enter, and even if they found a problem with it, he could leave that place without anyone even noticing.

Having superhuman speed had its own unique quirks after all.

An excited smile appeared on his face, and for a moment, his gaze shifted to the open door on the left.

He looked away the next instant and continued toward the one at center, but just as he reached the door, a bare, slender hand shot out and caught his arms.

His eyes widened in alert, his right arm came out of the pocket as he got ready to punish whoever had dared to attack him.

However, as he turned his head and looked at the culprit, he froze at the spot, and his eyes trembled with recognition, disbelief, surprise, and above all affection.

[Extreme danger detected.]

[Fleeing the premises is highly suggested.]

"Sarin..." he softly whispered her name.

Sarin let go of his arm and wrapped her arms around his chest before pulling him in a tight embrace.

Her fluffy shoulder-length pink hair touched the end of his chin, and his sharp, tiny nose brushed his chest as she tried to disappear into him.

Klaus stood there frozen.

His arms floated around her as though wanting to hug her but reluctant to actually do so.

His mind stopped functioning as he simply stared down at the woman he so dearly loved but couldn’t be with because of her methods.

For a good minute, none of them said anything. The familiar warmth of her slender hourglass body wrapped around his body like a blanket, and then she slowly raised her head and met his deep black eyes with her yellow ones.

Her eyes were filled with warmth, affection, love, and deep, deep obsession.

Her soft pink lips moved as she asked, "Did you miss me?"

Her voice was low and sweet like honey.

Hearing her voice directly after so long, his heartbeat quickened. Still, he kept his lips tightly shut.

She put an ear to his heart and tightened her arms around him as she added, "I missed you."

’Shut up,’ he said inwardly as he forced himself not to look at her.

"I wanted to leave everything behind and meet you... I wanted to feel you, hold you, kiss you, but I knew."

She let go of him, took a step back, and then slowly and carefully touched his face.

She turned his head and made him look into her eyes as she continued, "I knew if I did that you would hate yourself. You value ambition and dreams over everything else and... for that I was okay with not being beside you for three years. I pushed through, I survived."

Klaus’s eyes trembled. A look of understanding, acceptance, and reluctance appeared on his face, and then she whispered, "Now, I am back."

"Back to where and whom I belong to..."

She closed the distance between them, wrapped her arms around his neck, and said with saddened eyes, "You won’t leave me, would you?"

His eyes trembled, and slowly his hands moved to embrace her.

Maybe he had been wrong about her... maybe he had been wrong about himself.

She tiptoed to kiss him.

However, just as Klaus was about to hug her, a familiar voice called out to both of them.

"Klaus! Sarin!"
