Yi Tianyun quickly made his way to the passage filled with Netherworld Fire. There were quite a few guards stationed there who, upon seeing him, hurriedly nodded in greeting.

Although the Netherworld Imperial City had been cleared out, many of its buildings were still intact. With some minor repairs, they could be put to use. While this place would not serve as the new Imperial City, it was still an excellent location for another city.

That was why guards had been dispatched to protect it, to prevent other Loose Cultivators from coming to cause destruction. Some Loose Cultivators would destroy everything in their search for treasure, so protecting as many buildings as possible was crucial. This way, a new city could be established with great speed.

As for the new Imperial City, the Spirit Race Ancestor would be the one to choose its location. Given his skill as a Divine Rune Grandmaster, selecting a site would be no problem at all.

Yi Tianyun then descended. The situation below was unchanged; everything was as he had left it. The only difference was that there was even more Netherworld Fire than before, piled up within the secret chamber and filling the entire space.

Just then, the Little Phoenix in his pet space unexpectedly burst out, completely ignoring his control, and flew into the open. It then began to eat the Netherworld Fire. After taking a bite, it revealed an expression of bliss, appearing to greatly enjoy the taste.

After hearing his words, the Little Phoenix quieted down and went back to eating the Netherworld Fire, ignoring him once more.

Yi Tianyun let it eat on the side while he went to the deep pit in the center of the room, from which the Netherworld Fire was emerging in a constant stream. As soon as he cleared the fire in the chamber, new flames would bubble up from the pit and quickly fill the space again.

Just then, a childish voice came from behind him, causing Yi Tianyun to whirl around in shock. Before his eyes was a little girl, about eight or nine years old, who wasn’t wearing a single thing. The sight gave him a huge fright.

"What’s going on? Who’s ’Daddy’?"

Yi Tianyun looked her up and down. He had been so focused on absorbing the Netherworld Fire that he hadn’t even noticed someone approaching. He really had been too careless.

"Daddy, I’m hungry..." the little girl said, grabbing his shoulder and shaking it. She pouted her small, pink lips in dissatisfaction.

"Daddy? ...Are you the Little Phoenix?" Yi Tianyun stared, dumbfounded. He thought the Little Phoenix would just get bigger at most. How could it have turned into a little girl?

"Daddy, you don’t recognize me?" the little girl asked, looking at him with displeasure. "I’m hungry, I want to eat this..." She pointed at the Netherworld Fire.

"So you really are the Little Phoenix..."

As he observed her closely, he noticed a few phoenix feathers on her body, especially on her arms. If not for that detail, he would have thought she was a lost girl who had wandered down from above.

But with so many guards stationed above, how could a little girl possibly have run down here?

He promptly took out a set of his own clothes, did some quick alterations, and had the Little Phoenix put them on. The fit was poor, but at least she wasn’t naked anymore.

"Daddy, this stuff is uncomfortable. I don’t want to wear it," the Little Phoenix said with a displeased frown.

"Just make do with it, or you won’t get any Netherworld Fire to eat," Yi Tianyun threatened.

"I want to eat! I want to eat!" the Little Phoenix shouted anxiously.

"Alright, here you go." Yi Tianyun took out a ball of Netherworld Fire and placed it to the side, creating a small zone of flame that wouldn’t harm her.

When the Little Phoenix saw it, her clear eyes lit up. She opened her mouth and drew the Netherworld Fire into her body, swallowing it bite by bite as if she were eating a meal. Once she had swallowed it, her face was filled with bliss, as though she had just eaten the most delicious thing in the world.

Now that she had her Netherworld Fire, she paid no more attention to Yi Tianyun and continued to eat.

Nearby, Yi Tianyun felt a sense of resignation. He’d never expected the Little Phoenix to turn into a person. Now how was he supposed to put her back in the pet space?
