Chapter 426: Abnormal Realm
Sea of Void.
Inside a void ship, Claude Preston could be seen cultivating with his eyes closed. After freeing the Eclipsion Realm from the slave traders, he didn’t stay there for long.
The realm’s attitude toward him made him uncomfortable. It reminded him of his failed destiny—his failure to save his homeland.
As such, as soon as things settled down, he continued his journey through the universe.
His Master was still not with him, or at least not where he could see him. As such, he was alone in the void ship.
Thankfully, the resources his Master had given him were abundant, and at this moment, he was already at the mid cycle of the Great Mage Rank.
The Eclipsion Realm had further boosted his cultivation as if he were its own child, making his progress even faster.
It certainly wouldn’t be long before he reached the late cycle of the Great Mage Rank. It seemed that reaching the Noble Mage Rank was also not that far off.
[Ding! Detecting an unknown realm.]
Suddenly, the artificial intelligence in the void ship spoke, causing Claude to open his eyes.
"Let me see that realm," he ordered, and a screen was projected in front of him.
On the screen, the image of the realm could be seen, but what attracted his attention was the other void ship near this unknown realm.
Unknown realms refer to those that are not registered among the known realms of the Southern Domain.
The coordinates of most realms can be found on the ’internet,’ aside from special realms or those belonging to the various factions of the universe.
These unknown realms are often backward and have not made contact with the rest of the universe.
If slave traders discover these unknown realms, their fates would definitely be horrible.
Most unknown realms are only at the third rank or below. Very few could give birth to a Noble Rank being.
After all, Noble Rank beings can enter the Sea of Void on their own without relying on void ships. As such, fourth-rank realms have a higher chance of making contact with the living beings of other realms.
These realms are both easy and hard to find. There are countless undiscovered realms, but at the same time, the universe is unbelievably vast.
It was akin to a world containing millions of pins scattered across a space trillions of times larger than the Earth Realm.
You cannot say that there are too few pins, but that also doesn’t mean finding them is easy.
If you are unlucky, even spending hundreds of years might not be enough to discover an unknown realm. On the other hand, if you are lucky, discovering unknown realms every few years is not impossible.
Claude didn’t know why, but he felt as though this unknown realm was calling to him.
He felt a sense of attraction toward it, making him frown.
He had obviously never seen or been to this unknown realm, so how could he have these feelings?
Still, Claude controlled the void ship to approach the unknown realm and used the surveillance runes on it to spy on the realm’s condition.
What he saw made his blood boil. He could see thousands of mages capturing one living being after another.
Both humans and magic beasts were being captured, and they were powerless to resist.
"These... they are slave traders!" Claude said through gritted teeth. As a kind-hearted man at heart, he naturally despised these slave traders.
Everyone should be free. No one is meant or born to be a slave. These slave traders made him angry, but he didn’t charge in blindly.
He first used the void ship to scan the slave traders to see if there were any Noble Rank beings among them.
Fortunately, just as he had expected, there were no fourth-rank slave traders, which was the norm.
Unless the discovered realm had a native at the fourth rank, Noble Mages would not make a move.
After all, even if a single realm could give birth to thousands of Great Mages, would the slave traders be afraid?
A single realm’s capabilities are limited, while slave traders often come from different realms. Their high-end combatants are far superior.
After investigating, Claude entered the protection area of the realm, where he could safely walk out of the void ship.
As soon as he entered that area, a frown appeared on his face. He could sense the realm welcoming his arrival as if he were its child that it hadn’t seen for a long time.
This realm, just like the Eclipsion Realm, made him uncomfortable, but saving the natives was more important.
Just as he was about to exit his void ship, he suddenly saw a crimson pillar piercing through the sky.
The energy fluctuations from this crimson pillar definitely exceeded the limits of a Great Mage. It was at the fourth rank!
In the face of such power, Claude could not be careless. He took out his Noble Artifact. With this artifact, although he could not defeat a Noble Rank being, it would at least prevent him from dying to a single attack.
However, no danger appeared. The crimson pillar of light pierced through the realm’s atmosphere and entered the Sea of Void before vanishing.
Even from a distance, Claude could sense spatial fluctuations. It seemed that the crimson light was not meant for attack but for teleportation.
Seeing the crimson light vanish, Claude felt as though he had missed out on something. His heart suddenly throbbed, and he unconsciously placed his hand on his chest.
"What is this? Why does my chest hurt? Why do I feel sad, as if I missed someone important to me?" Claude asked himself in confusion.
As a Great Mage, he had great control over his body, and it was definitely impossible for him to catch diseases or suffer from any physical illness unless someone had used magic on him.
This situation greatly confused him as he stared at the place where the crimson light had vanished. He had the desire to know who or what that crimson light had teleported, but that was currently impossible.
He didn’t have the power or capability to investigate where the crimson light had gone.
The mystery was destined to remain unsolved, and Claude turned his attention back to the unknown realm before him.
He didn’t hesitate anymore and entered the realm. With a sword in his hand, he charged at the closest slave trader he could see.
With a single slash of his sword, that slave trader was immediately cut in half.
His appearance was unexpected by the slave traders, and for a moment, they forgot how to react.
During that moment of distraction, Claude managed to kill a few more of them. There was no need to talk. Since they were slave traders who ruthlessly took people’s lives and sold them, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill them.
Claude had never been someone who desired to save everyone. In his eyes, some people needed to be saved, while others needed to be erased from this world.
With a cold glint in his eyes, he continued slaughtering the slave traders. This unknown realm was even weaker than the Eclipsion Realm. As such, his speed was unbelievably fast due to the weaker realm suppression.
"W-who?! Who is this!"
"Aren’t there only three Great Mages in this realm? Where did this one come from?!"
"He’s only a mid-cycle Great Mage. How could he possibly kill a late-cycle Great Mage in a single attack?"
"What is this power?! This is too unscientific!"
The slave traders panicked. The conquest of this realm was more eventful than that of any other realm they had attacked.
First, a woman at the first cycle of the Great Mage Rank managed to halt all of them for a moment. Even their strongest captain was affected.
After that, the same captain was poisoned, and in his rage, he killed his own people. Many of them died at their own captain’s hands.
As if that wasn’t enough, there was even a crimson pillar of light that made their hearts palpitate. The energy fluctuations of that crimson light definitely exceeded the Great Mage Rank. It was the power of a Noble!
And now, an unknown man had suddenly appeared, and despite only being at the mid cycle of the Great Mage Rank, he was slaughtering late-cycle Great Mages as if they were cabbages.
Why was this realm so fucking abnormal? Other slave traders entered a realm and easily swept through it, earning tons of money.
But they had just entered this unknown realm, and one abnormal event after another had occurred. If not for the fact that they could still feel pain, they would have thought they were dreaming or trapped under an illusion spell.
"Run!"
"He is too powerful! Even a late-cycle Great Mage cannot withstand a single strike!"
"Abnormal! This realm is too abnormal!"
"I have been a slave trader for over a hundred years, and this is the most terrifying realm I have ever been to!"
"Help! I don’t want to die!"
