Chapter 397: God Descent: Kaizer Arrives.
Hazel, Racheal, and Ruby remained frozen for only a brief moment, their eyes fixed upon Damian. They had seen him angry before. They had watched him lose control against Hagrid and witnessed what they believe was the full weight of his anger. But this... this was different.
There was no rage distorting his expression, no madness burning within his eyes. Instead, there was only an unnatural calmness that frightened them far more than any outburst ever could. Beneath that calm exterior lurked something they could neither understand nor recognize.
For the first time since meeting him, hints of genuine fear appeared in their eyes. Without waiting for Damian to repeat himself, the three immediately tore open a rift through space. The crack spread across the air with a loud tearing sound before they rushed through it without another word, leaving only Damian and Fulgur behind upon the mountain.
Damian slowly looked over his shoulder to confirm they had left before turning back toward Fulgur. The black cracks spreading across his face continued creeping outward with every passing second, leaking strands of dark violet aura that dissolved into the wind before vanishing completely.
Fulgur quietly observed him, his brows knitting together into the deepest frown Damian had seen since meeting him. The pressure radiating from the young prince had already surpassed what Fulgur believed should have been possible for the Sin of Lust at this stage of growth.
More unsettling still was the strange feeling that came whenever he tried to perceive Damian directly. Beyond where the young man stood, there was nothing. No aura. No presence. No end. It felt as though he was staring into an endless abyss whose depths could never be measured.
A boundless, bottomless darkness.
"I don’t know what this is, and neither do I understand it," Fulgur admitted calmly. "But it doesn’t matter. Your fate has already been sealed."
As those words left his lips, a strange crimson symbol slowly burned itself into the center of his forehead. It spread across his skin like molten metal being branded into flesh, releasing waves of violent crimson energy that rolled across the mountain.
Buzzz!
Fulgur’s already enormous body began swelling once again. His height increased by nearly another three feet while his muscles expanded grotesquely beneath his robes. Thick veins pulsed violently beneath his skin, glowing crimson as though molten blood flowed through them before converging toward his eyes.
One scale after another, Damian watched the dragon’s once sky blue scales gradually darken until they became blood red.
"My God..." Rin whispered, his voice trembling. "Now I understand."
Only then did Damian realize the fox had quietly returned to his shoulder. Rin’s fur stood completely on end as he stared at Fulgur without blinking. Terror unlike anything Damian had ever seen filled the fox’s purple eyes.
"What happened?" Damian asked calmly without taking his gaze off Fulgur.
"Those... those aren’t the real demigods." Rin muttered. "Those are their souls inhabiting Getis."
Damian frowned before instinctively lowering his gaze toward the battlefield far below.
His expression immediately darkened.
The three dragon corpses lying where they had fallen were no longer intact. Their bodies were slowly crumbling apart, tiny glowing fragments peeled away from the corpses before scattering into the wind like burning ashes until entire limbs dissolved before his very eyes.
"They’re disappearing..." Damian muttered.
"Getis are artificial bodies created specifically to house demigod souls," Rin continued, his voice remaining unusually tense. "Normally, they’re nothing more than expensive replacements but these Getis are different. They’ve been engraved with your brother’s Rage Authority..."
"It’s called ’Fall Oh Rise,’" Fulgur interrupted calmly, his transformation still continuing.
He slowly spread both arms apart while crimson lightning crackled across his massive body.
"By linking several allies together through ’Fall OhRise,’ every death strengthens the survivors. Each fallen vessel transfers all of its accumulated strength into the remaining ones until only one body remains."
A rare grin slowly spread across the dragon’s face.
"And you believe this new body is enough to stop me?" Damian asked coldly.
To his surprise, Fulgur nodded without the slightest hesitation.
"Of course, my prince. You can absolutely be stopped by this body, just not in my hands."
As soon as those words left his lips, the blue irises within Fulgur’s eyes completely disappeared, only pure white remained.
"What?"
Damian instinctively glanced toward Rin. The fox’s expression had somehow become even worse.
"Run..." Rin struggled to say. "Leave this planet... now."
His terrified gaze never left Fulgur. Before Damian could even question him further a familiar voice slowly echoed across the entire planet.
"It’s too late. You can no longer leave this world alive."
Buzz!
The moment those words were spoken, the sun itself turned blood red. Its golden radiance disappeared completely as crimson light washed across the entire planet, painting the world beneath a sinister shade of scarlet.
Although Kaizer’s voice remained calm and almost amused, it echoed across every nation on Earth simultaneously.
For the briefest moment, Damian felt his own heart stop beating. Then his face slowly twisted into rage.
"Kaizer..." He hissed the name quietly.
Fulgur’s lips slowly curled upward we his white eyes regained their irises only they were now crimson.
"You’ve got guts. I’ll give you that."
Kaizer’s voice emerged directly from Fulgur’s mouth. Damian merely shrugged and his burning violet eyes remained fixed upon the dragon before him.
"You are already here,I have no reason left to hide."
Everything suddenly made sense. The four dragon demigods had never intended to survive this battle. Every one of them had arrived inhabiting specially prepared Getis designed for a single purpose.
First, Fulgur exhausted him using the Heaven Plundering Prison. Then the remaining three deliberately sacrificed themselves. Their deaths empowered the final vessel until it became durable enough to temporarily withstand the descent of a God’s soul.
Only one question remained.
How long could that body endure?
"The original plan was for you to defeat all four demigods after exhausting yourself breaking free from the Heaven Plundering Prison. By the time I descended, you were supposed to have completely emptied your demonic reserves."
Kaizer explained almost lazily.
"But it seems those annoying servants of Heaven somehow discovered my intentions. They warned your wives and ruined everything. Now I have to kill you while you still possess nearly half your demonic reserves."
Kaizer slowly flexed Fulgur’s fingers, seemingly testing the artificial body’s limits as a smile filled with absolute confidence spread across his face.
"Well... I am God. There is nothing impossible for me."
If this had happened in the past, Damian would have been terrified. The mere thought of standing before one of the Seven Sins in direct combat would have been enough to make him question whether victory was even possible. But that Damian no longer existed. He had fought too many impossible battles, survived too many encounters that should have ended in his death, and more importantly, he now understood the laws governing the world far better than he did before.
No matter how terrifying Kaizer was one truth remained absolute. No true deity could descend upon Earth in their complete form.
This body standing before him might now house Kaizer’s soul, but it was still only a Geti. No matter how extraordinary the vessel had become after absorbing the other three demigods, it was still bound by the limitations of the planet itself. The moment Kaizer descended, his strength would inevitably be compressed to the highest level the world could withstand.
At most, he’s a demigod.
In reality this was the exact situation Damian should have been hoping for all along. He was facing a God forced onto equal footing.
Even better...
Damian understood something Kaizer himself could never ignore. That body would never last. A God’s soul was simply too vast. No vessel beneath true divinity could contain it indefinitely. Even the finest seed shattered after awakening once. Regardless of how much effort Wrath had invested into creating this Geti, it remained nothing more than a temporary shell destined to collapse beneath the weight of the soul inhabiting it.
Damian slowly began walking forward. Each step echoed softly across the ruined mountain and His expression remained completely calm.
"How long do you have?"
The question caught everyone off guard.
Buzz!
Rin slowly turned toward Damian, disbelief written plainly across his face. Through their connection, he could hear Damian’s thoughts as clearly as his own. He understood exactly what Damian was thinking.
That was precisely why he couldn’t believe it. The terror filling his heart was gradually being replaced by pure shock.
"Have you gone mad?" Rin muttered beneath his breath.
There was no fear in Damian anymore, only anticipation. Even Kaizer’s amused smile slowly disappeared. His crimson brows furrowed.
The young prince wasn’t looking for a way to survive. He was calculating how long he had to kill a God.
For several long seconds, Kaizer simply stared at him, then he no answered honestly.
"Five minutes."
Swooosh!
Damian reached for the collar of his shirt. With one effortless pull, the fabric tore free from his body before the wind caught it, sending it spinning high into the crimson sky.
His bare upper body was revealed beneath the dying sunlight.
Kaizer silently observed him. Despite looking normal he could sense there was something off about him.
Damian slowly rolled his shoulders before clenching his fists once. The sound of his knuckles cracking echoed sharply through the silent battlefield. He lifted his burning violet eyes toward Kaizer and a small grin slowly formed across his face.
"Then let’s get this shit started. I don’t have much time to take your life."
