Chapter 21: The board meeting
"I’m so sorry about that," Miss Stephanie said calmly, already knowing the reason the decision had even been made in the first place.
But Logan at the time was still fully engrossed in his confrontation with Evelyn to even care.
"You know what? Fine. If you really want to disgrace yourself like that, I would make a contract now. Let’s see if you could sign it," Evelyn typed out calmly. She knew exactly what she was actually really doing.
She was pulling off the legal fear.
Normally, people who were not rich enough could not really stand the legal threat at all.
Evelyn got about 100 likes on that single comment. It was obvious that Evelyn had shut Logan up for good, as he was no longer typing back.
Everyone kept laughing and talking about how stupid the situation was—except for the fact that Logan signed and sent the letter back in less than ten minutes.
Taking everyone by shock.
But Logan had already gone offline before he could even reply to any more comments from Evelyn and her parties.
"Well, don’t worry about that. I would find a way to pay the fees. It’s nothing," Logan said calmly.
"I think I should take responsibility for this. After all, it’s my son’s fault you are even in this situation in the first place," Miss Stephanie said, stepping forward with a bold determination in her eyes to correct the wrong.
"You know what? Let our family take care of the bills. After all, that is really the best we can do after what we have made you go through already," Miss Stephanie said boldly, as if she was determined to prove a point.
But Logan looked at her without saying a word, his smile already melting into her soul and rooting her to the spot.
"Wait, did I say something wrong? Oh shit, why is he looking at me like that?" Miss Stephanie thought, her face turning cherry red immediately under the pressure of his gaze.
"I think you need to sleep. Tomorrow is really a big day, and I don’t want you to miss it for anything in the world," Logan said with a slight smile.
"Besides, I heard old people need more night rest than young men like us," Logan said playfully as he tapped her head gently.
"Who are you calling old? I’m actually much younger than you think. I mean, age is just a number," Miss Stephanie immediately replied, pushing her head to the side as though to form annoyance, meanwhile her face was already heating up from the tension.
Logan chuckled slightly before holding her hands lightly.
"Alright, let me actually escort you to your car. You really need rest. After all, tomorrow is really going to be a really big day," Logan said, pecking her on the head before escorting her out.
Deep down, Stephanie couldn’t even regret going to meet him. At least she got a sense of calm. But now what she wanted more than ever was to obviously fuck him.
Despite everything that was happening, despite all the threats coming her way, all she wanted to do at the moment was to fuck Logan hard.
And only Logan knew why.
During the short break that had cut off their passionate encounter, Logan had used his skill to increase her drive but not make it too over the top.
After escorting Miss Stephanie back to her car, Logan finally came back to his room for his main work of the day.
The company.
Since he was already tired and done for the day, Logan laid on his bed and used the system interface instead of the normal phone app he had been literally using all day.
Without wasting any time, he opened up the company details and started fixing the 10 critical issues.
The first one was getting a general overseer, and that was no hard task at all.
All he really needed to do was to actually pull out and look for an AI to do that, as suggested by the system.
The AI was going to manage minor company decisions and call him for the major ones, so it was no big deal.
Next main problem were the company policies and all.
Logan kept on editing each and every problem as he gradually fell asleep.
But before he could sleep, one thing caught his eyes.
[Another issue needed to be solved is the little amount of workers available to work in the company.
Many people had left due to bad management and lack of pay. Your AI overseer can also do that for you.]
But since Logan was actually looking for a job Brandon could do, that immediately made it a very perfect setting.
Logan immediately breezed through all the remaining problems. Most of them were about the company’s infrastructure.
Like their policies, bad workers who needed to be sacked, good ones who needed a promotion, and Logan did every single thing from the comfort of his bed.
Once that was done, he immediately put him and Brandon in line for a job in the company.
The pay would be decent enough to help in paying both his fees and probably go a long way in his.
With that, Logan finally decided to shut down his system space. After all, tomorrow was going to be quite a long one.
******
Logan woke up with a banging headache which he couldn’t tell why.
Miss Stephanie’s emergency meeting was today, and the whole world was anticipating the results of that very meeting.
It was even being aired on TV.
The theories had been going far and wide, with a bunch of creators jumping on it eagerly to explain why Stephanie is guilty or is not.
That morning, Stephanie had woken up very early despite sleeping quite late.
And thanks to Logan, she was very confident.
She immediately dressed up and began rushing down to the company. In less than 30 minutes, Miss Stephanie was there.
She was so confident, thinking she had all the evidence whatsoever, but she was about to get the shock of her entire life.
Immediately she reached the main building, she made her way to the board’s office where all their meetings were normally held, and lo and behold, Charles her personal assistant was sitting right in their midst.
Stephanie immediately moved back in shock.
Charles was obviously not a board member, so him being here just meant one thing alone.
He had reported her to the board himself, and now he was being asked to defend himself.
That was the only reasonable explanation Miss Stephanie could come up with.
"Please sit down, Miss Stephanie. We have quite a lot to get to."
