Chapter 16: New mission: clear Stephanies name.
"Wait, what? Are you actually now accusing me of looting the company’s money?" Stephanie spoke, getting furious.
"Look, I’m not really saying that, but I’m just saying that this was actually too well plotted out. I mean, what can you say about the document and how you signed off your company away to some stranger for 200 million dollars without even telling anyone in the boardroom?
By the way, mind you, this company is actually much more valuable, but I can’t really even question you."
"Wait... even you... you believe..."
"Look, ma, we all do respect you, but I have to call you out about this. The document has your signature on it. I mean, you watched the video. Also, mind you, this is fraud because there are actually a lot of investors in this company and stocks owned by high-ranked individuals in this state who would really stop at nothing."
"You’re a freak. Get off my phone before I fire you on the spot," Miss Stephanie spoke, her cold mask returning to her face once more. But the personal assistant at this point couldn’t restrain himself.
"Then go ahead and fire me. You know how ruthless the oil business is. You know how hard I have strived to make sure this company maintains its place in the top ten.
I have gone out of my way, even working late at night, making calls when I am meant to be sleeping, all to subdue our contenders or make some marketing changes.
But what did you do? You denied me each time I asked for a raise. Each time I asked for a leave, you also declined me. What the hell do you want me to do?" He was boiling right now.
"Look, look..."
"Nope, I can’t take that. I am done. No one does more than I do in this company, but yet look at what I’m paid.
I would never go against you or frame you up, but now I’m trying to help and you’re making things more difficult than it’s meant to be.
Who knows, you might be truly guilty," the assistant said before turning off his phone.
Miss Stephanie just sat down, speechless.
She did turn down his proposal for a raise many times, but it was not for selfish reasons. As a matter of fact, she had already given him a raise many times in his career. But the business had plateaued and wasn’t growing higher anymore, so she couldn’t help but stop increasing the raise.
For someone paid 2 million dollars every month, that wasn’t bad at all.
She had even been planning to increase the raise to 5 million dollars when the company got back on its feet again, but now this problem was arising.
As for the leaves—
Miss Stephanie didn’t really care what anyone thought. He had six good leaves a year. That was the single highest anyone in the company had.
Some of his leaves were even up to a month, so him complaining about leaves was just stupid and pathetic, and Miss Stephanie’s say on that was still final—no extra leaves.
"Oh my God, everything is happening too fast." Miss Stephanie covered her face as she released a large sigh. She immediately opened her laptop.
She definitely had to start gathering her evidence and all. Tomorrow was going to be a very big one, and she couldn’t afford to take this lightly.
First thing she needed to do was actually call a private investigator. She still somehow believed that Andrew was behind all of this.
Andrew and Paul were still outside Miss Stephanie’s room, not making any moves until they finally heard the familiar sounds of her typing on her laptop.
"That went very well. Did you get it all on record?" Paul asked Andrew, excitement on his face.
"Yes, every single bit of it. After editing it fully, it would seal the deal for sure. I mean, for your own personal assistant to say that about you was more than enough proof that you were not good enough for the company."
Andrew said this with a smile arched on his face as the both of them whispered to themselves, trying so hard not to be discovered by her.

Meanwhile, Logan and the Brandons were having a very good time.
By now, Caroline’s attraction points were sitting on a very nice number of 800. Just casual words and compliments that would have, on a normal occasion, given just a little increase were now being multiplied by ten. That was just the difference.
It was almost obvious that he would soon bind her if things continued like this.
But as one would have it, the dinner finally came to an end. Logan and Brandon said their goodbyes by the door while Caroline leaned in to give him a hug.
Logan used it as an opportunity, resting his hands on her ass and pressing it only lightly—not hard enough to be noticed, but hard enough to make Caroline feel the heat.

Brandon looked at his mom in awe, as he still didn’t understand where all the niceness was coming from.
But despite that, he still exchanged pleasantries with Logan as he finally began leaving.
After waving everyone, Logan finally began walking away from the house.
It was almost 8 in the night already, so he just ordered an Uber from his phone using part of the money he was given that day.

Logan slid the notification away as a smile finally touched his face in a frenzy.
Caroline had it all—the beautiful face, the calming voice, the sexy figure, every single thing he could ever want.
And he was so happy. Very soon he would finally be able to bind her to his system.
