Chapter 10,000 is actually much
Their lips met in a very passionate encounter.
Miss Stephanie dragged him by his shirt so close that she could feel his heartbeat as she kissed him passionately before finally letting go.
"I’m... I’m sorry. That was so uncalled for, umm..."
Logan immediately cut her short before she could make things more awkward.
"I guess that’s a promise, right?" Logan said, his voice firmer now as a smile tugged at his lips.
Miss Stephanie only nodded, feeling so shy that she literally wanted the earth to swallow her that instant.
"Alright then, I think I should get going. Thank you so much for the ride," Logan spoke, attempting to get out of the car before he was stopped by Miss Stephanie.
Without even speaking, she brought out some cash notes from the side of the door.
"This is 4000 dollars. Please use it to get any medications needed. I’m so sorry about what Andrew caused, and if there are any other expenses, please call me.
I can see you don’t have any really visible physical injury here, but please check in with a hospital. There may be internal injuries, and like I said, money shouldn’t be an issue. Your health should be a priority right now."
"I–"
"Nope, you’re taking the money. No room for exceptions," Miss Stephanie said, her face serious although her cherry-red face already revealed how she really felt.
"Alright, thank you so much for this. It’s really going to go a long way," Logan said with a wide smile before finally getting out of the car and waving her goodbye.
Miss Stephanie just stayed in the car, watching him disappear from her view as she smiled.
Her hands still held on to the steering wheel, but she was unable to start the car.
She really didn’t want him to go just now, but then again, he needed to go. After all, she wasn’t really for him.
Deep down, Miss Stephanie couldn’t hide it as much as she would have loved to.
She might have developed feelings for Logan. Despite it being wrong, she couldn’t help herself.
After all, Logan was already far past 18, so there were no legal actions that could be taken against her.
But even that didn’t make it right.
"I shouldn’t even think too far. I’m sure he would already see me as too old, and probably he already has a girlfriend and was just being nice," Miss Stephanie thought, thinking back at the very scene in the house. She couldn’t help but lower her head.
Without wasting time, Miss Stephanie put a call through to her personal detective, asking him for a detailed report on Logan’s life and his financial situation.
After ending the call, Miss Stephanie was finally satisfied and pulled out of the driveway. After all, she was going to need to be at home because she was one hundred percent sure that her husband would be back in the next two hours.

Logan got out of the car and began heading to his apartment.
The sun was still up and high in the sky, meaning that he still had time to go to Brandon’s house.
Brandon was definitely going to be very mad at the moment. It was only natural that it would be a hard task.
But now Logan believed that everything was really possible. All he needed was to actually believe.
If he could make Miss Stephanie’s attraction points increase by about six thousand in just a couple of hours, then it was obvious that anything was possible.
Logan immediately took his phone out once he got into his room and placed a call to Brandon. Just like he expected, he had already been blocked by Brandon himself.
Logan sighed by reflex. It already seemed like this was going to be too much for him to actually handle.
Logan immediately left his house again and boarded another taxi down to Brandon’s apartment.
Worry painted deeply on his face.
He didn’t really know exactly how he was going to convince Brandon to forgive him.
But he had to give it a real try.
Before long, he stopped at Brandon’s apartment, where he lived with his mother, who was the sole provider for their family. His dad had already run away with another woman, so there was no way to reach out to him.
But just as Logan was heading to the house, he overheard the conversation they were having.
"Without Andrew helping us anymore, I’m so sorry, but even with a 90 percent scholarship we would really never be able to cover the remaining 10 percent," Caroline, Brandon’s mother, spoke.
"You know I don’t really get rich clients, and at that, some of the money I do make goes to food and other things. But even if I let us starve just to pay the fees, then I think it would take about six months to make up to 10,000 dollars. So as you can see, you can’t keep it up till then," Caroline said. Her voice was calm and consoling, but if listened to carefully, it was also carved with pain.
It was no new news that Miss Caroline was a sex worker, although only Brandon and Logan knew since Miss Caroline wanted to keep it a secret so as not to tarnish the image of her son or make things difficult for him.
At first she didn’t want to go into it, but when Brandon was on the verge of losing his scholarship, she had to turn to desperate measures.
Her cleaning jobs obviously couldn’t cater for such bills, and being a high school dropout also didn’t make getting a better job any easier.
But that was exactly what kept her going. She also didn’t want Brandon to be a high school dropout like her.
But now things were getting much harder. Before, she could starve herself at times, and in about the length of a session she would be able to get five thousand dollars while Andrew paid for the other 5000 dollars. But now things were different. Ten thousand dollars was too much for her to handle in less than two months.
Logan listened carefully with a sigh as he began to think if fighting with Andrew was the best option.
But without thinking much, he immediately dispelled the thought and rang the doorbell.
