Chapter 11: A simp and cunning fox it can’t be me they talking about
"Who is there?" Logan heard Miss Caroline shout as both she and Brandon promptly stopped their conversation.
Miss Caroline opened the door with a click, and just like he had expected, she was dressed leisurely.
But sometimes leisure wear could be provocative in its own way.
[Miss Caroline attraction points: 10.
A more than 800 point reduction because of what you had done to Brandon.]
Almost immediately, Logan discovered how hard it would be to actually bind her to his system in the future.
But at this time, he really didn’t care.
All he needed to handle right now was the shattered friendship with Brandon.
Still, Miss Caroline’s figure just seemed to make his throat run dry.
She was wearing a slightly long skirt, but despite the width of the skirt, her large, round figure was still protruding from the edges of the clothes she was wearing.
But that was not the most catching part of her outfit.
The top of the gown had no real covering over her large boobs, making it almost impossible for anything to be left to the imagination.
But Logan knew better.
Controlling his emotions, he finally began to speak to Caroline, who was obviously disgusted by his presence.
One hand was on her waist while the other was on the edge of the door, like she was obviously not going to let him into the house.
"Umm, please, I would like to just talk to Brandon and try to clear the air. I really didn’t—"
"Clear up what misunderstanding, exactly?" Miss Caroline stopped Logan from continuing with his speech.
"Do you know exactly how hard your actions hit? You think you can just come here and apologize and that would be over?"
Miss Caroline was already getting very angry. Just as she was about to speak more, Brandon immediately appeared.
"Mom, don’t worry. I got this," he said, walking right in between Logan and his mom.
"Are you sure, hon?" Miss Caroline said, slight affection in her eyes, like Logan was a real criminal or probably an ex-convict.
But Logan didn’t care. All he wanted right now was to at least speak to Brandon, but from how Brandon was looking, it was very obvious this was not really going to be an easy task.
Miss Caroline then decided to leave, allowing Brandon to handle the commotion by himself.
"What on earth are you doing here, Logan? I told you we are no longer friends," Brandon said, his face stern as he prepared to lock the door on Logan’s face.
"Hey, look, I know you might be really mad, but I am really sorry this time. I know it’s my fault. I know I was the one who cut you off first. Yes, it was all me. It’s all my fault and I accept it. Please just give me a second chance." As Logan spoke, he tried his best to select his words carefully.
He didn’t want a situation where he would say something that didn’t sit well with Brandon, because it would result in him shutting the door fully. At the moment, it was already halfway shut.
Except that was not really working.
"Look, bro, go get your life together please. Stop coming here," Brandon said, attempting to shut the door again.
"No, wait. Understand me. I was just behaving very stupid, and I would not say it was love. I’m not going to give that excuse. But all I want you to do is forgive me. Remember we are bros. If you kick me out today, it would really go against the very bro code you have been trying to preserve these past months I have known you," Logan said, still hopeful that somehow Brandon would listen to him.
"Do you even know how bad what you did was, bro? Because of you I was living a lie. You made me feel like I do have friends, but the thing is I do not actually have any friends.
I just had a few fakes and one that would dump me the very next time a beautiful bitch shows up on campus," Brandon said, the pain deep in his voice.
But this time he didn’t try to close the door. He just stared at Logan for a long time.
Logan, who wanted to talk so badly, knew better. Things were already as bad as they were, and more words after what he said might deepen the wound.
"Oh well, but that already proves my point. You would always be an idiot. Do well to close the door when you enter, and also you owe me lunch for the whole of third year," Brandon spoke with a smile as he left the door open and headed toward his room, leaving Logan outside.
A clear warmth immediately started in Logan’s heart.
It was clear Brandon was still angry, but at least he had forgiven him. Because obviously you can’t be taking lunch from a stranger, can you?
Logan immediately made it into the house and shut the door.
He already knew the layout of the house since they had had a lot of study sessions there. They were literally a group of four very close friends.
Immediately, he passed the kitchen. Miss Caroline was doing the dishes, too preoccupied to even know what was going on.
In no time, Logan was already in Brandon’s room.
And unlike him, Brandon was a really organized dude.
Despite not having much, his room was not a mess.
He sat on the bed close to Brandon, who was lying on the bed, clearly worried.
"What’s up, bro?" Logan spoke calmly, already sensing his unease.
"Well, nothing much. It’s just I may have to drop out of school this summer. No need to really worry about that," he said, like it was just a passing thought.
But knowing how addicted to studying Brandon was, Logan could tell that this was really bad news for him and he was not really ready to just call it off like that.
"No, don’t even say that. We are going to figure something out, I promise. You’re not dropping out unless you don’t want your lunch from me," Logan said, trying to lift up the mood.
Brandon smiled heartily.
"Well, I guess you’re the one who needs to be worried because, well, you’re trending on social media."
Brandon said, passing his phone.
Logan immediately collected the phone to take a look, a sick feeling already crawling up his tummy.
The video’s caption was sickening:
