Crystalbel immediately began to calm down slightly. She knew that she couldn’t be wrong. It was obvious here that Logan was a scam.

Even Mike at this point started to actually doubt his own judgement. Maybe indeed Logan was just a scam.

But he dared not utter his words out. They still had to get Alfred, the vice president of the company, to confirm their doubts.

Alfred looked at Logan for a brief moment. Logan finally nodded as though he had been forced to accept something he was too lazy to.

Immediately Alfred walked up to Crystalbel and gave her a heavy slap that caused her mouth to immediately bleed out.

"Are you mad, talking about the boss like that? You really don’t like your family and yourself, do you?" Alfred spoke, his voice hoarse.

"No, I—" Before Crystalbel could speak, she was given yet another hot slap to stop her from talking.

"I rather not hear you say anything more, you proud thing. You’re just a middle class—hope you know—and yet you had the nerve to talk like you own the place, right?" Alfred said, his fury and rage going over the top as he slapped her again.

"How many times did you lay your hands on him? What did you actually think this is?" Alfred said, giving Crystalbel another slap on the face.

By now she was already bleeding from the mouth as she desperately begged both Alfred and Logan.

Mike was also begging and begging in the corner.

As though he was already sure where this was heading to.

Without speaking, Logan just raised his hands, signalling for Alfred to stop.

Alfred, getting the signal, immediately stopped the altercation at once and stepped to the side.

"Alright, Alfred, thanks, but we have work to do. Firstly, I want their family bankrupt by midnight today.

And I want a formal appointment letter sent to Miss Caroline. She is way more versatile than him in the job.

I would be sure to do a thorough cleansing of our employees, because I don’t know how someone like him got to work in this company. That is one of the only reasons we are still at this point in the industry.

Hopefully the next set of movies going live would finally heal us from the disaster this man has caused.

Also, I would like to know who on earth employed him. Give him a sack letter immediately," Logan spoke calmly and gently, as though he was picking his words slowly, not rushing at all.

As he spoke, Alfred bowed respectfully, listening and nodding to every command.

"Oh, finally, before I forget—here is my very good friend Brandon. I need him in a high-paying temporary position for the summer before the school session starts."

With that, Logan walked briskly past both Mike and Crystalbel and straight out of the office to the main street.

According to him, he made the right decision, because actually checking Caroline’s résumé, she had all the qualifications and more to work as the manager.

Not just that—he had also used the app to check her potential, and it was very stunning.

As soon as Logan left, Brandon followed suit immediately, leaving Alfred and the two culprits to each other.

"What the hell is happening?" Brandon said, pushing Logan to the side immediately they went out.

Logan, who originally didn’t want to tell Brandon anything, never knew that anything would actually go wrong during the interview.

And now he just had to tell him part of the truth at least, because right now a lie would only complicate things. Brandon was obviously not that stupid.

"Well, here is the thing. Yes, I am actually kinda rich. I just didn’t want to drag attention to myself, so I hid it. Also didn’t know how you would actually react on hearing that," Logan said slowly.

Deep down his heart was racing. He wasn’t really sure Brandon was going to buy the idea.

But Brandon still didn’t speak. It was like he was still trying to digest all the information all at once.

"So you mean all this time I had known you, you were super rich and a tycoon capable of buying a company worth 200 million dollars?" Brandon said, still looking at Logan, his face straight and serious.

Logan took a deep sigh but couldn’t really come up with a suitable answer.

He had watched this in films and read this in books way too many times.

The question was going to be quite difficult. If Logan says yes, then Brandon would get angry and think he is just keeping secrets away from him.

But if he said no, then it would be certain that he’s lying and there is more to the case.

"Not really if you put it that way, but yes," Logan said. Spotting Brandon’s speechlessness, he took the initiative, grabbing Brandon’s two shoulders before finally speaking.

"Look, I did this for your own good. I’m in danger always. There are a lot of people who are after my life, and I’m not ready to put any other person I care about in danger. You just have to believe me," Logan said, looking into Brandon’s eyes.

After a while, Brandon finally eased up.

"I get it, fam. It’s completely okay," Brandon said with a smile as they headed back home.

Caroline read the message on her phone as she couldn’t help but be happy, confused, and cautious at the same exact time.

This was a one-in-a-million chance for her to finally quit her hook-up business and finally do something that paid better and was more respected.

Hopefully it was not a scam—that was the only thing she thought of.

But even if it wasn’t, how did the company track her down and decide she was the one for the job?

That’s when a certain name came to her mind.

Logan.

He said they were going for an interview for a job today.

Could it be... nope, it just couldn’t be
