Chapter 37: did she just slap me: all hell would break lose
Immediately Logan moved his head to meet their gaze, he was met with two guards holding a stun gun, ready to kick and beat him if he refused to cooperate.
"Oh well, he kind of deserves it a little. I mean, come on, he can’t be that arrogant when coming for a job," some of the other fellows who came for the interview couldn’t help but speak out loud.
All Logan did was smile.
"Alright then, you’re fired," Logan said lazily.
"You have up till the end of today to leave this residence with all your belongings, or else legal actions might be taken against you.
Note, you were just a manager—not anything serious," Logan said calmly.
But before he could get through with it, a system prompt appeared in front of him.
[An AI is recommended for you to track the performance of all employees in the company. Also, it helps you not to make poor decisions so you can assess their performance before firing them.]
Logan immediately accepted the system’s idea, and as fate would have it, Mike was one of the people who had left the company in a very bad state. In fact, he was one of the people who nearly dragged the company to bankruptcy. If he had bought it and made the changes the AI had suggested...
But before Logan could do anything, he was grabbed by the two guards from side to side.
Everyone in the building immediately laughed at Logan’s mere words. In their minds, Logan was obviously psycho.
"I mean, bro, it’s obvious you’re not alright. Please stop causing a nuisance. We really need to get the interview over with," one of those waiting spoke up.
"You know what? I think you’re too full of yourself, and I would teach you a very good lesson," Mike said, his anger boiling over the top.
"We are expecting a very important guest today, so I would not like you to ruin the air. So just get out," Mr. Mike finally spoke, cooling down his temper a little.
"Dad, you should have actually taught scrap like this his place. I mean, how dare he barge into a company and start issuing out threats? I mean, what power does he even have? In fact, to be honest, the only reason he is here in the first place is to get a job that can help him pay his fees.
Not to add that he is still in a lot of debt," Crystalbel said as she slowly approached Logan, who was still being held by the security.
And without wasting any time, she offloaded a series of slaps.
Pa pa pa pa pa.
But unbeknownst to her, her dad was no longer in the room. He was already on his phone. Although the slaps didn’t really matter to him, he still couldn’t understand why he had actually been fired in the first place.
The message was as clear as day.
"The new owner of the company has decided to fire the manager of the main branch located in Evergreen Vile for bad conduct. If you have any problems you can reach out to him.
Nice working with you. You have just 24 hours to move out, or else we will be forced to take legal actions against you."
Mike was still stunned. Everything had to be a coincidence.
Maybe actually his deeds have caught up with him, and it had just been a mere coincidence.
But either ways, there was one true way to really find out and clear the air.
Giving a glance, Logan was just smiling at Crystalbel as she slapped him over and over again.
Without wasting any time.
By now the whole reception was filled with laughter as the crowd enjoyed the sight of Logan being slapped over and over again.
"Oh my, I thought you were the final boss. Come on," Crystalbel said as she slapped him again as though trying to send a message.
Brandon was already furious. Most of the other interviewees had already held him back together with the security.
Mike, looking at the commotion, knew that if his fears were right, then they were cooked.
But unknown to him, behind Logan’s smile was pure fury.
In fact, Logan had already ordered 50 top security personnel straight to the shop.
Mike just didn’t know the hell he was just about to pass through.
With shaky hands, Mike immediately dialed the number in the sack message he had just received, and low and behold, Logan’s number rang out.
In a twinkle of an eye, it was clear Logan was the secret tycoon that had bought the Bright Way Entertainment District.
The next Hollywood.
Logan shot Mike a look that said it all.
Crystalbel, following his look, could see her father horrified, but she didn’t know exactly what was going on.
Until Mike briskly stepped forward and slapped Crystalbel so hard she dropped to the floor, at least breaking a bone or two.
Mike immediately dropped to his knees.
"I’m so sorry, Logan Ashford. I really didn’t know you were the one. I swear, please spare me," Mike cried, burying his face on the ground close to Logan’s feet.
But Logan at that point was no longer having it.
Every person in the room, on hearing the name, immediately got scared and began begging for their lives too.
Most kept thinking about their lives, hoping that they had not said anything to annoy this powerhouse in front of them.
After all, the headline going around besides the whole Hydra situation was that Logan Ashford had bought the Bright Way Entertainment District for over 200 million dollars and in less than a day was able to somehow convince top investors to invest in the company.
Immediately removing it from bankruptcy and placing it as a prospect for the future.
Mike kept begging. The guards immediately released Logan’s hands, apologizing frantically for their earlier actions.
Meanwhile, Crystalbel was still on the floor, completely shocked and pale. Had she just cost her family their entire lives?
Mike was still shooting her angry glances as he frantically begged on their behalf.
Meanwhile, Brandon was rooted to the corner, completely shocked at the series of events unfolding.
But it was already too late. In no time, cars with sirens covered the whole building as men in completely black suits and black glasses entered the building.
And in their midst was the vice president of the company. Alfred was wearing a Gucci suit with tinted glasses.
"I am so sorry, sir, for not coming on time, but I did immediately get on my way when I saw the text message," Alfred said, bowing down slightly to gesture his sincere apology.
Meanwhile, Crystalbel was still on the floor.
But now she had finally got the clarity of the situation. She had single-handedly put her family in great trouble.
But still, deep down she refused to believe it.
She refused to believe that the poor, pathetic simp was actually an undercover tycoon all this while.
If indeed he was, why would he allow everything happen during that end-of-semester party?
If indeed he was the tycoon, why would he even come for a job interview?
Everything was not adding up.
Crystalbel, knowing the risk she was about to take, calmed down to check all her evidence, and in complete assurance she finally spoke.
"Sir, please, this guy here is only but a fraud. I know him from my school. He is a debtor and a simp. No way he is Logan Ashford," Crystalbel said in complete assurance, though her hands and teeth were trembling because she knew for sure that if she was wrong it would be over.
Alfred immediately looked at Logan closely, the whole room falling silent all at on
