Chapter 1448: Terrifying Pressure
At a certain clubhouse, Nagano Yoko stood by the window, looking at the vibrant nightlife of Jin City, her expression desolate.
As Ye Fan, Zhang Lu, and others had speculated, Nagano Yoko was indeed the woman behind the scenes giving orders to Nishi Kureha and Namie, and this clubhouse was her hideout.
Asai’s death had no impact on Nagano Yoko; in her eyes, Asai wasn’t that important.
Encountering Ye Fan, Asai’s downfall was expected, because Asai simply wasn’t a match for Ye Fan.
It was precisely because she could face reality that Nagano Yoko remained calm. Asai’s direct exposure led to his tragic death, and there was nothing more to say, for Asai faced Ye Fan as his enemy.
The mere mention of Ye Fan carried enough weight to be daunting, warranting utmost caution.
However, Namie’s death unsettled Nagano Yoko, causing her emotions to surge uncontrollably.
Having planned for so long, with Namie putting in so much effort, the outcome was infuriating.
"Big sister, seeing the look on your face, are you not feeling well?" Ying Zi asked with concern, standing behind Nagano Yoko.
Ying Zi was the head of operations under Nagano Yoko, leading a team of ten strong individuals.
"Namie’s dead, and all of her subordinates are dead too." Nagano Yoko spoke sorrowfully without turning her head or looking at Ying Zi, her gaze fixed on the silent night.
"What? How could this be?" Ying Zi asked incredulously, "Didn’t Namie say that this operation was foolproof? How could it have failed? What exactly happened?"
"Ji Jie’s intelligence was false; it was a trap all along. It’s laughable how we walked right into it." Nagano Yoko smiled bitterly, "The cost of falling into a trap is severe losses."
"We were too eager, and Ji Jie’s disguise was too deep, hesitating and luring us in again and again, which led to our belief in Ji Jie. A defeat like this becomes understandable." Ying Zi analyzed objectively but still puzzled, "However, from any perspective, Namie’s group shouldn’t have all died, right?"
She knew Namie had taken six people to the auction, while four sisters remained hidden at Namie’s residence.
Understanding this made it incredible to her that all of Namie’s group could be in danger.
"Ye Fan was tracking Namie, you can imagine the outcome." Nagano Yoko mentioned Ye Fan’s name heavily, as if it was a mountain pressing on her heart; facing such an existence, how could one remain calm?
Ying Zi understood, the auction trap, followed by Ye Fan tracking Namie, no matter how Ye Fan achieved this, it was clear that Namie’s group had all met their end.
Grasping this logic was easy, but accepting the consequences was hard to bear.
"Ye Fan, it’s Ye Fan again." Ying Zi fumed, "It was Ye Fan who killed Asai and also killed Namie."
She was both angry and furious; it was Ye Fan who had caused this series of defeats.
"A blood debt must be paid in blood. We must find a way to hinder Ye Fan or cause him trouble." Ying Zi’s voice boiled with murderous intent, "If we don’t solve this huge problem, it’ll be our nightmare. This situation absolutely cannot continue."
"You know who Ye Fan is, how could you underestimate him? Any underestimation or direct confrontation means certain death." Nagano Yoko contemplated for a long time before affirming, "So, no matter what, we must avoid clashing with Ye Fan. If we can avoid it, that’s best. If not, we must find a way to steer clear of this frightening existence."
Her attention and concern were not unnecessary. Ye Fan’s repeated defeats inflicted by her left significant pressure. Anyone who dared to underestimate such an existence would be acting foolishly.
Nagano Yoko prided herself on never underestimating Ye Fan. However, any move they made that left a trace could lead Ye Fan directly to their hidden forces and eliminate them. Such resolve and decisiveness were chilling.
"The thought of our ultimate enemy being Ye Fan sends shivers down the spine," Ying Zi said heavily, "We’ve suffered terrible losses at Ye Fan’s hands, no question about it. Even our nation’s big figures have repeatedly failed and suffered heavy casualties against Ye Fan. He’s truly a terrifying opponent; whether it be the Underworld’s reputation or its undefeated legend, those are frightening auras that make anyone feel immense pressure, like walking on thin ice."
Thinking about Ye Fan’s past identity and reputation really felt like a mountain pressing on anyone’s mind.
Unless forced to, no one wished to be Ye Fan’s enemy, it’s a consensus in the Underworld.
The God Organization was powerful, yet it fell into Ye Fan’s hands, didn’t it?
The Sky Net Organization was ambitious, and yet, it was merely a flash in the pan.
The reason for such an outcome was provoking Ye Fan.
Imagine that even the former and current strongest forces in the Underworld faced destruction under Ye Fan’s attacks, becoming things of the past. Under such a renowned name, who could underestimate Ye Fan?
Who even has the confidence and strength to belittle Ye Fan?
The more you understand Ye Fan, the more suffocating the pressure feels.
He’s someone who has unearthed infinite human potential; be it bravery or intelligence, no one else can compare.
Combined with the numerous trials, and the miracles he’s created with his own strength, these experiences together create earth-shattering prestige and a fierce reputation.
"If it weren’t for no other choice, I wouldn’t oppose such a terrifying existence." Nagano Yoko sighed.
"If there were a choice, no one would want to oppose the Terminator, that’s self-evident," Ying Zi lamented, then rallied her spirits, "Let’s not say those demoralizing things. The priority now is to lie low and seek opportunities for a decisive strike. Hesitation isn’t our style; if there’s a chance, we must kill Ji Jie to avenge Namie."
"The mission is paramount; revenge can wait. If we act rashly and reveal our location, it’ll be troublesome." Nagano Yoko emphasized.
"Everything follows your lead, big sister." Ying Zi nodded in agreement.
