Chapter 1459: Kill or Escape
Peng Bird, Flower Snake, Hua Diao, and Mountain Ghost, after obtaining what they wanted, fled the scene.
In an instant, they joined George, Wuli, Kirk, and Moses who were responsible for the rendezvous.
"How’s it? Did you get it?" George excitedly asked, and upon seeing the expression on Peng Bird’s face, there was an air of success. However, the four didn’t harbor any thoughts of luck and urgently asked.
Only by getting the definite news can they avoid false cheer. Otherwise, it wouldn’t match their intentions.
"We got it," Peng Bird said jubilantly. To achieve this goal, painstaking planning had been done for a long time. Now that it was accomplished, it was naturally beyond expectation, with an intense aura emanating from his body, expressing how pleased he was.
"The enemies might be pursuing us now; can’t afford delay, need to find a way to leave." Flower Snake spoke hastily, unable to conceal their urgency.
"Alright, you guys go first, we’ll cover the rear," George decided without hesitation.
This was what George’s group was supposed to do, buying some time for Peng Bird and others to leave with the goods. As for the pursuing enemies, they naturally had to intervene and obstruct; otherwise, escaping the scene wouldn’t be possible without sufficient time.
Once the people of Nishikushu catch up, hoping for Peng Bird to escape this troublesome place unscathed would become difficult.
"Take care!" Peng Bird didn’t hesitate either; they entered the elevator, while George and the others temporarily stayed behind.
Just as the elevator began its descent, the corridor erupted with noise, as Yamamoto and Nishida, leading their companions from other rooms, rushed frantically in the direction where Peng Bird was leaving.
The corridor was filled with anger and restless energy, like a raging storm directly rushing towards George and others.
These people were quite hurried, not even caring much about their attire, rushing straight towards George and the group.
George and his companions could understand why these people were so violent; with the map fragment stolen, who wouldn’t go mad?
This was indeed a reasonable reaction, but in George’s eyes, it made them feel suffocated.
The pressure was certainly immense; facing the overwhelming crowd directly would be too tricky.
"What?!" George was a bit dumbfounded, looking at his companions, Wuli, Kirk, and Moses, who wore similar expressions of incredulity. It was understandable but couldn’t help but evoke shock.
"Once surrounded, we’re doomed with slim chances, nine lives lost," Wuli said urgently, looking tense.
"Can’t face them head-on, must disrupt them," Kirk said anxiously, "Take the stairs, definitely can’t let them trap us, otherwise leaving won’t be an option, escaping these angry enemies is impossible."
"Go, hurry!" Moses lowered his voice and shouted in a muffled tone.
While discussing, the four rushed towards the staircase, like arrows flying as fast as possible to escape.
"Don’t let those little thieves go, chase them down, kill them," Yamamoto’s angry voice echoed urgently.
"Chase, speed up," Nishida’s furious voice echoed loudly in the empty corridor.
The companions behind Yamamoto and Nishida were naturally enraged, filled with righteous indignation.
This chase and escape unfolded violently in the corridor and stairway, an atmosphere of oppression filled the air.
Meanwhile, a subordinate left by Ma De suppressed the emerging panic from within and reported, "Captain, they’re fighting; both sides are violently chasing and escaping, heading your way, be careful."
This subordinate was a member of the Black Cat Team, intentionally left by Ma De to monitor the situation.
"Great!" Ma De, upon hearing this news, understood that the people ahead of them obtained Nishikushu’s valuables and fought while trying to escape; this is the best evidence.
If Peng Bird’s group hadn’t succeeded, they would’ve watched Peng Bird and others desperately fight Nishikushu; watching such drama was delightfully favorable. If possible, they could take advantage and attack Nishikushu, seizing the opportunity.
However, since Peng Bird succeeded, Ma De’s opportunity arrived—halfway interception couldn’t be better.
"Come down and meet me as quickly as possible," Ma De issued this command.
"Yes!" Everyone on the rooftop and the person monitoring Nishikushu’s floor began to act.
George, Wuli, Kirk, and Moses, while escaping and fighting, flew people who rushed towards them, yet countless enemies kept coming. Despite their prowess, the overwhelming assault was unresistable.
This scene was quite shocking, startling many people.
"We’re outnumbered, prolonging this isn’t a solution," Moses said restlessly.
"We must delay for more time, it’s the only way; we fight while retreating, they can’t handle us," Kirk suggested.
"According to timing, Peng Bird’s group must almost be gone; no need for excessive caution, find a way to extricate ourselves, avoid tangling with them," Wuli analyzed.
"Let’s go, swiftly retreat," George said loudly.
The four began to flee; they weren’t interested in fighting, denying Yamamoto and Nishida any chance of encircling them.
"You won’t escape, surrender!" Yamamoto shouted angrily, "If you stay to be cannon fodder, you should be ready to die; if you don’t, our murderous intent has nowhere to unleash."
Peng Bird’s group took the elevator and temporarily disappeared, making chasing impossible.
Thus, they could only target their boundless murderous intent on George’s group, demanding a reckoning.
"No matter how you escape, you’ll never leave our grasp," Nishida confidently said.
In Yamamoto and Nishida’s view, George’s group had nowhere to go; despite their formidable strength, they were outnumbered. Surrounded tightly, no matter how much they flee, it was futile, resulting only in their demise.
No matter how far George’s group ran, they could be chased. Given enough space, surrounding them posed no problem, resulting in their downfall.
It’s just that Yamamoto and Nishida didn’t have room for maneuvering—the narrow corridor couldn’t surround George’s group.
Otherwise, the four would have been captured long ago.
