Facing a dead end, Nishida was forced to reveal the confidential information that there was someone leading him behind the scenes.

He divulged this situation with a troubled heart, afraid of being killed by the person behind the scenes. He was utterly terrified, but to handle the crisis at hand, he had no choice but to speak. If he didn’t, there was a possibility of immediate death.

To handle the current predicament, he had to make some sacrifices. What happened afterward was up to fate. With that mindset, he realized he had no other way out beyond this.

Peng Bird, Flower Snake, Hua Diao, and Mountain Ghost saw Nishida’s earnestness and believed he was not faking it.

It could be understood that there was someone leading Nishida from behind, and it was also understandable that the second map fragment was in this person’s hands. It made sense for two groups, one in the open and one in the shadows, to each watch over a map fragment.

If one side encountered a problem, the other would be responsible for the map fragment’s safety. As long as the three map fragments couldn’t be pieced together, a complete map would never appear, no matter how much effort was spent, it would be in vain.

With Nishida and his group’s determination to get what they wanted, thorough preparation was a given. It was impossible for only one group to act; having another group secretly planning was understandable and a highly feasible approach.

"Who is the person leading you?" Peng Bird was very interested in this question and pressed on, "Don’t tell me you know nothing; such a statement isn’t believable."

"I truly don’t know. I just know it’s a woman’s voice. Perhaps the voice had been altered, I cannot be certain of anything," Nishida said wronged, "I have no interaction with this woman, don’t know her, and have never met her. All along, this woman initiates contact with me. I don’t have the privilege to reach out. Every time, the voice that seems like a woman contacts me with a different number."

Nishida’s words were ambiguous and deliberately vague about certain things, leaving it to Peng Bird to decipher. No amount of thinking would help; it was useless for the actual situation.

There was also another reason; he purposely said it this way, not as aggrieved and scared as he appeared.

The vaguer Nishida spoke, the more Peng Bird and others could understand. It was natural for the person leading Nishida to be not ordinary; hidden in the shadows, how could they reveal too much to Nishida?

"Since you don’t know her, never met, how could that supposed female leader cooperate with you?" Peng Bird naturally wanted to clear this up. The more details about the confining existence, the more useful it would be.

"It was through an intermediary that contact was established with me, and this was long ago." Nishida explained, "I’m a businessperson. With such good business, naturally, I would partake in it. Hence, I have one map fragment in my possession. The second is in the person behind the scenes’ hand. They want to obtain that treasure through the third map fragment."

There was nothing further Peng Bird and his group wanted to ask. Nishida, eager to survive, answered their questions accordingly.

These answers satisfied them, with no apparent loopholes. It was understandable that the person leading Nishida was more secretive. In this matter, Nishida’s limited knowledge was reasonable.

If Nishida were making things up, there would be flaws. However, Peng Bird and others couldn’t find any, so they believed him.

Nishida, being a businessman so fearful of death, was understood. To survive, he revealed some unknown secrets, which upon objective analysis, was indeed helpful for Peng Bird and the others.

"Since you’ve been honest, answered my questions, and disclosed a lot, we won’t give you a hard time," Peng Bird said generously after putting away his knife and treating the map fragment as a treasure, "We shall meet again; take care of yourselves. We hope there’s a day when we will meet again."

"May we never meet again, may we never meet again. I really don’t want to see you again." Nishida muttered quietly, trembling and very aggrieved, which only made Peng Bird and the others burst into laughter.

"We’re leaving now. Stay put, don’t move. If you pursue us, don’t blame us for being ruthless." Peng Bird gave a meaningful look toward Yamamoto and Nishida, "Especially you two, don’t do anything foolish. Otherwise, the consequences are beyond what you can bear."

"Understood, our priority is the boss’s safety. Since your boss doesn’t intend to pursue this, and you’ve got what you wanted, we won’t act recklessly." Yamamoto and Nishida exchanged a bitter glance, submissively conceding.

"Farewell!" Peng Bird and the others cheerfully bade farewell, then opened the door, and quickly left as a quartet.

Inside the room, Yamamoto and Nishida looked at Nishida and asked, "Boss, what do we do now? The item has fallen into the enemy’s hands; we’d have a hard time evading death if pursued."

"I understand this logic all too well," Nishida replied with a subtle smile, hesitated momentarily, and then asked, "What do you think we should do next?"

"Chase, we must chase and retrieve the item!" Yamamoto urged eagerly.

"I’ll alert the others. We can’t let the enemy get away." Nishida was anxiously determined.

At this moment, Nishida showed no sign of fear or trembling, instead, remarkably calm.

"You pursue them, attack swiftly, and remember, you must maintain a balance, not retrieve the map fragment, just ensure the enemy escapes," Nishida instructed.

"What?" Yamamoto was dumbfounded, how could they act like this?

What was this about?

Wasn’t this creating unnecessary trouble?

"Why?" Nishida found himself baffled by Nishida’s instructions and simply couldn’t understand.

His bewildered state was much like Yamamoto’s.

"There aren’t too many whys. Just follow my instructions, understand?" Nishida admonished coldly.

"Yes!" Yamamoto and Nishida agreed.

Despite being utterly confused and puzzled, now was not the moment to be perplexed. Nishida’s orders were still to be followed.
