Chapter 76: Alex
While Kaiser was leveling up, Alex was preparing to enter the Cosmic World.
"Are you ready?"
His father, Bill, was standing beside him with his mother, Rumina.
"Don’t worry, Mom. I will be fine."
Rumina nodded, but the worry in her eyes remained.
"Remember, use the money you need. Use the Shadow Cloak whenever you enter a dangerous area, and keep yourself hidden. Only reveal yourself when you are in or near a human settlement."
Bill gave him a few more instructions.
Alex nodded.
"I will, Father."
Bill nodded as Alex slept on his bed.
Alex closed his eyes and activated his Cosmic System.
His consciousness left his body, and he entered the Cosmic World.
As soon as he arrived, Alex looked around.
He found himself standing in the middle of a dense forest.
"Fuck. Why do I have to spawn in a forest?"
Alex sighed as he took out his Shadow Cloak.
He quickly put it on and activated its Shadow Cloak skill.
His body immediately disappeared from sight.
He then activated the Flight skill attached to the cloak and began flying through the forest.
"Damn. All I can see is forest."
He looked around while flying.
"My spawn point is really bad."
Alex continued flying toward the south, hoping to find some kind of settlement.
After flying for some time, he looked at the ticket in his hand.
It was an Extra Life Ticket.
The ticket was extremely valuable because it only dropped from Level 500+ dungeons.
His father had given him one before he entered the Cosmic World.
"It’s better not to waste it."
Alex used the ticket.
The ticket disappeared from his hand.
A notification immediately appeared.
[Extra Life Ticket has been activated.]
[If you die, you will not suffer complete death.]
[However, all current progress will be lost.]
[Your level will regress to Level 1.]
Alex nodded after reading the notification.
"Good enough."
He continued flying south.
After traveling for some time, the forest finally began to disappear.
Alex noticed a large city in the distance.
He immediately flew toward it.
However, before he could reach the city, several figures suddenly appeared around him.
Alex stopped in the air.
The figures were elves.
They surrounded him and pointed their weapons toward him.
Alex looked at them nervously.
One of the elves, who appeared to be a guard captain, stepped forward.
"Who are you, and why were you flying around our city?"
Alex immediately started explaining.
"I wasn’t trying to enter your city. I arrived here accidentally."
He quickly thought of an excuse.
"I fell into a teleportation trap and was transported into this forest. I was looking for a human settlement when I accidentally found your city."
The elf narrowed his eyes.
Alex immediately noticed the faint glow in the elf’s eyes.
He realized that the elf was using a Lie Detection Talent.
’Why did it have to be an elf with a Lie Detection Talent?’
Alex cursed silently.
The elf captain looked at him.
"Teleportation trap?"
Alex quickly corrected himself.
"Well, it wasn’t exactly a teleportation trap."
"It was more like a random teleportation artifact."
"I can use it, but it randomly sends me somewhere."
Alex spoke quickly, trying to make sure everything he said was technically true.
The elf captain continued staring at him for several seconds.
His eyes continued glowing faintly.
Finally, the elf captain nodded.
"He isn’t lying."
Alex secretly relaxed.
The elf captain lowered his weapon slightly.
"Where is that artifact?"
Alex hesitated.
"I can’t show you."
"It’s bonded to my skills, and even I can’t remove it."
The elf captain looked at him carefully.
Another elf standing beside him asked,
"Captain, can you tell if he is lying?"
The captain nodded.
"He isn’t lying."
Alex relaxed a little more.
’That was close.’
The elf captain then asked,
"Then explain where you came from and what you were doing here."
Alex thought for a moment before answering.
"I was traveling through the Cosmic World."
"I entered this forest after being transported here by the artifact."
"I don’t know exactly where I am."
The elf captain continued observing him with his Lie Detection Talent.
After confirming that Alex was not lying, he looked toward the city.
"You’re currently near the territory of the Emerald Leaf Kingdom."
"That city is one of our major settlements."
Alex looked toward the city.
"So this is an elven kingdom?"
The elf captain nodded.
"Yes."
Alex smiled slightly.
"Then I guess I was lucky."
The elf captain looked at him.
"Why?"
"Because I was looking for a safe place to stay."
The elf captain thought for a moment before speaking.
"You can enter the city, but you will have to register with the local authorities."
Alex nodded immediately.
"That’s fine."
The elf captain turned around and began walking toward the city.
Alex followed him along with the other elves.
As they approached the gates, Alex looked at the massive elven settlement.
The city was built around enormous trees, with wooden buildings connected by bridges and platforms.
Many elves were walking through the streets, while several shops and stalls were set up along the roads.
Alex looked around with interest.
’At least I finally found civilization.’
He followed the guards through the gates.
For now, Alex had managed to enter the Emerald Leaf Kingdom without revealing his true identity or the Cosmic System.
The elf captain led Alex through the main gate.
Once inside, Alex looked around carefully.
The city was much larger than he had expected.
Most of the buildings were made from wood, but some were built directly around the enormous trees growing throughout the city. Wooden bridges connected several buildings, and magical lights floated above the streets.
Alex could see elves of different ages walking around.
Some were carrying weapons, while others were wearing robes or working in shops.
"This place is pretty lively."
The elf captain glanced back at him.
"You said you were looking for a safe place to stay, right?"
"Yes."
"Then you should first register at the Adventurer Association."
"Adventurer Association?"
The elf captain nodded.
"They handle dungeon exploration, monster hunting, and other jobs related to adventurers."
"You can also use their services to find temporary accommodation."
