Chapter 72: Battle III
Kaiser fired another group of Light Bullets.
"Correct."
The Devil-Contracted King suddenly released a wave of demonic energy.
The dark energy swept across the room.
Marina immediately spread her holy mist in front of the group.
The demonic wave collided with the holy mist.
The two energies began destroying each other.
Marina continued controlling the mist while moving backward.
"This guy is much stronger than the Royal Guards."
Kaiser nodded.
"That’s why we need to fight carefully."
The Devil-Contracted King suddenly raised his sword.
A huge black slash flew across the room.
Molten Slime immediately activated Molten Fortress.
Its body expanded rapidly and formed a large defensive structure between the others and the attack.
The black slash struck the molten barrier.
The entire fortress shook.
Cracks appeared across its surface.
Molten Slime continued regenerating while maintaining the defensive structure.
Kaiser used the opportunity to attack.
"Golden Radiance Wave."
A large golden wave flew across the hall.
The Devil-Contracted King blocked it with his sword.
The golden energy exploded against his weapon.
Marina used Atomizer again.
The holy water mist moved around the demon king from several directions.
She controlled some of the mist around his legs while sending another portion toward his face and chest.
The Devil-Contracted King moved his demonic energy around his body to resist it.
However, the holy water continued burning through the demonic energy.
Grand Blood Warlock took advantage of the opening.
"Blood Prison."
Blood suddenly appeared around the Devil-Contracted King.
The blood formed a large prison around his body and tightened from all directions.
The demon king struggled against it.
Grand Blood Warlock continued supplying mana to the skill.
Kaiser raised his hand.
"Purifying Radiance."
A powerful beam of holy light struck the Blood Prison.
The blood prison opened slightly, allowing the light to pass through and strike the Devil-Contracted King directly.
The demon king roared and released a powerful burst of demonic energy.
The Blood Prison shattered.
Grand Blood Warlock was thrown backward.
Molten Slime immediately moved toward him.
"Molten Spikes."
Dozens of molten spikes erupted from the ground around the Devil-Contracted King.
The demon king jumped away from them.
Molten Slime then activated Magma Barrage.
Large pieces of molten rock were launched toward the boss.
The Devil-Contracted King cut several projectiles apart, but the remaining attacks struck his armor.
Marina continued controlling the holy mist.
She formed the mist into several narrow streams and directed them toward the damaged parts of his armor.
The holy water entered through the cracks.
The Devil-Contracted King immediately reacted.
He released a powerful demonic shockwave.
Marina was forced backward.
Kaiser quickly used Light Bullet.
The bullets struck the demon king’s shoulder and interrupted his attack.
Grand Blood Warlock recovered and raised both hands.
"Grand Blood Lance."
A massive blood lance formed above him.
The weapon was much larger than his normal Blood Spears.
He launched it toward the Devil-Contracted King.
The demon king blocked it with his sword.
The blood lance pushed him backward several meters before finally breaking apart.
Grand Blood Warlock did not stop.
"Bloodstorm."
Blood began swirling through the hall.
The blood formed countless sharp projectiles that moved around the Devil-Contracted King from every direction.
The demon king swung his sword repeatedly, destroying many of them.
However, some pierced his armor.
Marina used Atomizer at the same time.
The holy mist mixed with the Bloodstorm, allowing her to hide the holy water inside the blood-covered battlefield.
She suddenly redirected the mist toward the demon king.
The holy water covered his armor.
The demonic energy around his body weakened.
Kaiser immediately attacked.
"Golden Radiance Wave."
The golden wave struck the Devil-Contracted King directly.
His body was pushed backward.
Kaiser followed with another attack.
"Light Bullet."
Dozens of Light Bullets flew toward him.
The Devil-Contracted King blocked several with his sword, but the rest struck his body.
Because of his demonic nature, the Light Bullets dealt significantly more damage than normal.
The demon king looked at Kaiser.
"You are troublesome."
He suddenly disappeared.
Kaiser immediately activated Mana Sense.
"Damn!"
The Devil-Contracted King appeared behind Kaiser.
Before he could attack, Molten Slime rushed over.
"Molten Armor."
The slime covered Kaiser with part of its body.
The demon king’s sword struck the molten armor.
The attack forced Molten Slime to absorb the damage.
Kaiser immediately moved away.
Molten Slime activated Regeneration.
Its damaged body rapidly recovered.
The Devil-Contracted King attacked again.
Molten Slime used Adaptive Form and changed its body shape to avoid the sword.
The blade passed through part of its body.
Molten Slime immediately used Metal Absorption.
The metal from the demon king’s damaged armor was pulled into its body.
The Devil-Contracted King looked at his armor.
"You can absorb metal?"
Molten Slime did not answer.
It used Rolling Charge.
Its body slammed into the demon king and pushed him across the hall.
Grand Blood Warlock attacked immediately.
"Blood Puppet."
The blood from the demon king’s wounds moved against his control.
It formed several tendrils around his arms and legs.
The Devil-Contracted King struggled to move.
Marina used the opportunity to send a dense layer of holy mist around his entire body.
The holy water continuously damaged his demonic energy.
Kaiser raised his hand.
"Purifying Radiance."
The beam struck the Devil-Contracted King.
The demon king’s body was covered in holy light.
His demonic aura became noticeably weaker.
However, he suddenly released even more power.
A dark symbol appeared on his chest.
Kaiser immediately noticed it.
"That’s probably the devil contract."
The Devil-Contracted King’s injuries began healing.
His broken armor repaired itself, and his demonic energy returned.
Marina frowned.
"He can regenerate?"
Kaiser nodded.
"We need to destroy the contract or kill him before he can keep recovering."
The Devil-Contracted King raised his sword.
A huge amount of demonic energy gathered around the weapon.
Kaiser immediately ordered his pets.
"Defend!"
Molten Slime expanded.
"Molten Fortress."
Its body transformed into a huge defensive structure.
Grand Blood Warlock created Blood Shield.
Marina gathered the holy mist around herself.
The Devil-Contracted King swung his sword.
A massive black slash tore through the hall.
The attack struck Molten Fortress.
The entire defensive structure shook violently.
Large pieces of molten material were destroyed.
Molten Slime activated Regeneration while continuing to maintain the fortress.
The black slash finally broke through part of the defense.
Grand Blood Warlock reinforced the opening with Blood Shield.
The attack eventually disappeared.
