My 【Repair】Skill Became an Almighty Cheat Skill, So I Thought I’d Open Up a Weapon Shop
Episode 245: Repeating Crossbow
- After returning from Wang Du to Green Hollow for a while, we were able to go through our usual routine without any minor trouble.
The deep area exploration plan by Travis and Theodore has been reconstructed based on the fact that the threat lurking underground was more than assumed, and no contact has yet been received for its resumption.
Meanwhile, my main business, the weapons store, is doing well itself.
Although there have been no significant changes in the situation, there have also been no major problems, and I would say that management is in exactly a stable state.
Working as usual in all that slightly relaxed air, Alexia has spoken with pleasure with a large envelope.
"Thank you for waiting, Mr. Luke. Your order has been finished."
"Could it be the weapon you asked for before? It's a long time ago."
"Yes, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to rebuild what was in store because of the problem, with the help of Noir."
Alexia unwrapped the package and placed one crossbow on the counter.
It looked no different than a regular crossbow...... but something like a rectangular case has been added over the body.
"Repeating crossbow. That's called a streak. I didn't have to pull the cocking lever every single shot, but I automated it with the introduction of magic tools."
"Isn't that amazing? Why did you keep it?"
"Actually, the internal mechanism is so fragile, isn't it, this? That's enough to make me laugh anymore."
Shortly after sending you an honest praise, that's enough smiling to ruin your inspiration.
"Even though it was fragile and poorly maintained at the time of the normal repeating crossbow, it was even worse due to the effects of automation. I don't think I can use this anymore."
"Why are you doing that now... oh, I see. Me (...), me (...), me (...), me (...), me (...), me (...)."
When she replied that she was convinced, Alexia nodded with a full grin just to get my will.
"I tried to see if I could handle it with other people's [repair], but the lack of sophistication coupled with the complexity of the mechanism creates enough distortion to cause problems with the automated loading function. But, Luke, if it's not your standard [repair], I'm sure it'll be fine."
... Should I think this is trusted?
Or should I consider myself being thrown round to deal with defects?
Maybe it's about Alexia, so something like the real deal is purely the former but unconsciously mixed with the latter's intentions as well.
"That's a repeating crossbow... it sure looks like you can fight this regardless of your arm strength"
Take the crossbow and look at it from various angles, at the same time activate [Analysis] to check the internal mechanism.
"Wow, that's really complicated. Besides, the parts inside are very thin. That'll break while they're firing."
"I don't have a choice. When I tried to increase the strength of the parts, I waited for them to get bigger, and the weight became quite considerable."
Alexia put her hand on her forehead and shook her neck sideways with an over hand.
"In reverse order to be exact, the big, heavy one is the first version one I made, and now Luke, what you have is a version two that is compact and lighter at the expense of strength. Ultimately, they're both bottomed out, but Luke, if you want me to use them, I still think it's this way."
Well, it's definitely the right decision.
My muscle strength is what it looks like, and I don't have any bottom-up due to my skills, whether instantaneous or constant.
Automatic loading is more suitable than manual loading, where muscle strength determines the loading speed, and smaller and lighter weights, which are larger and weigh more than songs, compensate for the failure rate with [repair].
"Nevertheless, it doesn't mean there are any shortcomings besides the ease of failure. Reduced tension due to the limitations of the automatic loading mechanism... Well, technically, the physical power is low"
"Your big crossbow (Scorpion) is also self-loading with levers, but isn't it pretty powerful?
"That's just getting more power with the big one, and carrying it with [weight loss] is all we're dealing with. If the size is the same, the style of pulling strings is more powerful with one shot at a time. If you pull it off."
Alexia's story is professional, but easy to understand.
Even though we deal with the latest technology, which we don't even understand the basic principles, other than the experts, of ingenuity - or is that why we have the technique to explain them plainly to the average person?
When my parents' village hall purchased a mechanical watch that was still rare at the time when I was a kid, I had no idea how that worked and was even afraid to come close to breaking it.
Because I've just returned to my hometown in fifteen years, or so unexpectedly, I get those memories back.
"Use a spell bomb to raise the bottom of your power. Up to six cartridges in a single cartridge, so you'd better leave it to your discretion, Luke, to have a regular arrow bullet and wind attribute accelerator bullet and later a fire attribute explosive bomb cartridge one at a time"
Alexia arranged three different rectangular cartridges on the table before placing one additional cartridge.
And here's a new spell bomb from the Noir project.
Smiling like my own, Alexia made me pull one arrow bullet out of the cartridge that it was a new curse.
It was not attached to the tip of the arrow, and instead it was fitted with a paper wrap as long and thick as the thumb.
"Traditional curse bombs are a combination of curses on a crossbow arrow. There are the types that I simply wrapped around and Luke's [fusion] to keep them from coming off easily, but the performance itself hasn't changed."
"I don't know... it's completely different from what it looks like. It specializes in truncating its function as the original 'arrow' and 'knocking in magical effects when hit' instead of poking it at the subject...?
"Dae-jung, get it!
Alexia fingers me in the chest.
"That's a so-called shift in ideas. Instead of raising the power of arrow bullets with a spell, it's a redesign that thinks you're projecting the destructive power of ten spells far away with arrows. I'm not an expert on weapons. Is it a unique idea for Noir?"
As I hear the explanation, I get a little more convinced that this guy is going to be usable.
I don't mind the modest degree of backward support - I don't want to be protected while Garnett is fighting, other than when healing wounds - I had a feeling it would help me realize such an evil desire.
"I only get three in the cartridge because of the increase in size, but given the performance, it will be enough. And so... some ideas for new weapons came to mind as a by-product of this kid... budget, would you please!
Alexia has been pushing a bunch of paperwork all the way to me as I lifted the edge of her mouth.
Hey, did this guy just get a lot more sneery because he was waiting now or now for the right time to make this budget request?
"... I can't help it. Do you want to come up with some new product development?"
"Yay!
Alexia exposes her joy with much more force in her arms.
I couldn't imagine a while ago that I would be in a position to allocate what I am on a budget.
Is this one of the pleasures of working like an arms dealer?
