Watching from the top, Fredrinn and Rose saw that countless zombies were advancing towards a small group of humans.

Jenny’s gorgeous blonde hair was stained with disgusting, dripping blood, her body riddled with scratches and injuries as she used a metallic pipe in one hand and a pistol in the other.

Aadav was next to her, fighting off the zombies, similarly bruised and battered as he used a car’s bumper to push the zombies away. In his pocket he was carrying Eddie’s pistol.

Max, on the other hand, had ripped off a car’s door as he flexed his muscles, holding off a large horde of zombies all alone.

A large burst of mana erupted out of him, electrocuting the zombies as they fell to the floor as if they had a violent seizure. He was maintaining his distance from Jenny and Aadav just to keep them out of the range from his awakened skill.

Fredrinn grimaced at the sight.

The zombies were practically endless. When one died, two more moved to replace the corpse as the road was riddled with zombie corpses and blood.

At the corner, against a wall, Charlie sat. His breathing was laboured, blood dripping down his eyes as he barely held onto his life.

But surprisingly, the zombies moved right past him like they didn’t see him. It couldn’t have been because he was sitting so motionlessly that they thought he was dead.

The zombies were able to feel out the humans at close proximity, and that’s why simply hiding wasn’t that good of an option.

’Is it because he was infected and Rose transformed him partially? Do the zombies think he’s their kind or something...?’ Fredrinn guessed as he watched the slaughter with grim eyes.

To make matters worse, several weaker zombies had stopped attacking zombies and had begun to chow down on the zombie corpses.

If they weren’t stopped soon, they would evolve significantly and become stage 3 or worse!

Fredrinn glanced at Rose, who didn’t have a single expression while watching the entire spectacle.

Though, when she felt his gaze, she looked back at him and flashed a beautiful smile.

His eyes travelled to the curling, demonic horns on her temples as he sighed, he really couldn’t forget that in the end, Rose was a demon by her race. The humans meant nothing to her.

If he wasn’t that elusive ’Apollo hybrid’, he doubted that she would’ve warmed up to him either.

However, there was no time or point in wondering about this stuff at the moment.

He wrapped his hand around her waist and lifted her slightly as he whispered, "Make them stop, Rose."

"Oki." Rose smiled happily, before her gaze turned frosty when looking at the zombies.

"FREEZE!" She screamed in a slightly broken, demonic tone.

Fredrinn watched the mana ripple through the soundwaves as every zombie in the close vicinity suddenly froze in their places.

Jenny, who was still bracing from an incoming zombie’s attack, stood silently in shock.

She waited but the impact never came. When she opened her eyes, she was hit by a horrific sight, as a zombie was standing right in front of her, the skin rotting, mouth open wide and yellowish, disgusting teeth threatening to tear her apart.

But... it didn’t move. It couldn’t.

The zombie was clearly alive, the rotten stench of flesh was hitting Jenny right in her guts.

She looked around, her heart hammering within her chest as she saw all the zombies had stopped right in their tracks.

A zombie had lunged at Aadav but stopped midair, causing it to fall straight to the floor as blood trickled down its skull.

Another zombie had managed to circle around Max’s car door, threatening to attack his flank and slowly overpower him with the sheer quantity.

A broken sob escaped her lips as Jenny fell down to her knees, her body aching and the wounds burning in pain.

Aadav also lost his footing, falling down straight on his butt as he winced in pain. "What the fuck..." he breathed out throwing the bumper away as his chest rose and fell rapidly.

Max looked around himself in shock, his eyes travelling straight to the source of the scream as he saw a sight that made him feel more angry than relieved.

Fredrinn was there. Standing atop the tower of cars, one hand wrapped around the demon’s waist as he watched over them without a shred of an injury or pain.

Here they were, fighting, getting injured, bleeding, barely surviving... but where was he?

Max grit his teeth in anger, clenching his fists as he punched the nearest zombie with all his strength.

The skull was cracked by the impact, blood erupted, painting the road red as the zombie limply fell to the ground without a single groan or complaint.

He didn’t stop there though. He began punching and kicking every zombie in sight, taking out all his anger, all his frustration on the weaker zombies who were now incapable of fighting back...

"Is hubby happy now?" Rose casually wrapped her arms around Fredrinn’s neck, whispering in a soft soothing voice.

"..." Fredrinn speechlessly looked at the scene before a small chuckle slipped out of his lips.

Whether it was a humorous one or a powerless one, he himself didn’t know.

"Yes, I am happy. Let’s go down and check on them, yes?" Fredrinn said lightly, jumping from a car to another as the two made their way down the tower of cars.

Hearing the faint thuds and blaring sirens from the cars, Jenny finally looked up.

She felt like she was dreaming, and this was just her mind creating unrealistic scenarios as she watched Fredrinn moving closer towards her.

Near him was the hateful demon, the ashy skinned, twin horned, big titted bitch. But Jenny chose not to focus on her.

If this was her dream and she was already dead... Why not focus on the good things instead?

Why waste energy on the negatives.

The moment Fredrinn’s foot landed squarely on the road, despite her body protesting against any more movements, Jenny pushed herself off her feet and threw herself directly into his arms.

Sobbing.
