Naruto: Lost to Hinata on Purpose, and Now Everything's a Mess

Chapter 145 : Solved The Problem Of Rasengan Shuriken Self-Injury

Naruto was sent flying more than ten meters by the massive shockwave of chakra.

As the smoke cleared, Riku stood near a large crater, at least ten meters wide, and smiled. "That surge of chakra was pretty intense."

He lifted his head and looked toward where Naruto had landed.

Naruto wasn’t injured, but he had clearly been blown away by the impact.

Riku walked over and looked at Naruto, who was now sitting on the ground. "How are you? You okay?"

Naruto looked up and, seeing that it was Riku, gave a helpless smile. "It’s you? Why are you even here? That was dangerous!"

Riku reached out and helped Naruto to his feet, smiling. "Honestly, I just wanted to test whether your Rasengan could break through my Lightning Shield."

The jutsu Riku referred to—Lightning Shield—was technically an A-rank technique.

But for Riku, it had already become a standard, almost casual jutsu.

Naruto looked at him with envy. "My Rasengan didn’t even break through your Lightning Shield... Wait, is that something Kakashi-sensei taught you?"

Riku shook his head. "Nope. I developed it myself."

Naruto jumped to his feet with excitement. "Then—can you teach me?!"

Riku shook his head again. "I can’t."

Naruto deflated, visibly disappointed. Riku explained, "Because you don’t have lightning-nature chakra."

Naruto blinked, confused. "Huh? What do you mean by that?"

Riku didn’t go into detail. Instead, he pulled out a piece of chakra paper. "Just pour your chakra into this."

Although Naruto didn’t really understand what Riku was trying to do, he followed the instructions anyway.

As soon as Naruto infused his chakra, the paper split cleanly down the middle, sliced apart by a gust of wind.

Naruto stared at it, stunned.

"W-What just happened?"

Riku glanced at the paper and said, "That means your chakra nature is Wind."

"To use Lightning Style, you need lightning-nature chakra. You can eventually train to acquire other chakra natures through rigorous practice, but it won’t be easy."

Eventually, Naruto would come to possess all five chakra natures, along with Yin chakra. But for now, he only had access to Wind.

Naruto’s eyes lit up. "Then can I train it?"

Riku looked at him seriously. "I think you should first master the Rasengan properly. Just combining it with your Wind chakra will be enough."

"Rasengan, as you know, is already an advanced form-change technique. If you add Nature Transformation to it—specifically Wind—you can drastically increase its power."

Naruto paused. "Wait... the Rasengan can be upgraded?"

Riku laughed. "Of course. Right now, your Rasengan only performs the ultimate form change, but that’s just one side of chakra manipulation. If you combine it with Nature Transformation, you’ll take it to a whole new level."

Naruto looked at Riku curiously. "So... have you already completed Nature Transformation?"

Riku thought for a moment, wondering if he should reveal the truth.

After a moment, he said, "Yeah. I’ve already mastered the Nature Transformation of my chakra."

Naruto’s expression brightened with awe. "Then that means... you’ve learned Wind Style techniques that are even stronger than the Rasengan?"

Riku nodded. "More than just Wind Style."

"I haven’t used them in combat yet, but one of them could be a huge step forward in your future training."

What Riku planned to show Naruto was the Wind Style: Rasenshuriken.

After learning the Rasengan, Riku had developed his own version in just ten days—merging it not only with Wind Style, but also Fire, Earth, Water, and Lightning.

But he had never used it in a real battle.

He hadn’t created it for power—it was simply an experiment, born of curiosity. He had wondered just how strong the Wind Style Rasenshuriken could truly be.

Naruto’s eyes sparkled. "What’s it like?!"

Riku glanced at the clearing behind the mountain. It was a wide, grassy field—perfect for a demonstration.

"I’ll show you. Someday, you might be able to learn it too. But be warned—this jutsu is extremely dangerous. Ordinary shinobi wouldn’t survive using it. Still... if you can figure out your own method, I believe you can master it."

Under Naruto’s eager gaze, Riku raised his right hand and began to gather chakra.

In an instant, dense chakra spiraled into his palm, condensing into a glowing shuriken-like shape.

"Vmmm—"

The moment the Rasenshuriken took form, the air around them began to tremble from the pressure.

Naruto’s hair stood on end from the sheer force of Wind chakra emanating from it.

His eyes remained locked on the glowing sphere. "T-This... this is the Rasengan infused with Wind Style Nature Transformation?! It feels... it feels more than twice as strong as the original Rasengan..."

At that moment, Jiraiya—who had just arrived at the training field—caught sight of Riku holding the Rasenshuriken.

Riku held his arm high. The wind howled in every direction, radiating outward in a violent spiral. The pressure spread across a radius of several dozen meters.

From over a hundred meters away, Jiraiya was dumbfounded. "What kind of jutsu is that? Is this... Riku’s jutsu?"

"The chakra output is far greater than the Rasengan."

"And it clearly includes Wind Nature Transformation..."

Under Naruto’s awed expression, Riku finally threw the Rasenshuriken.

"Go."

The moment he released it, Jiraiya froze.

"Wait—he can throw it?! You’re kidding!"

The Rasenshuriken launched with incredible speed, vanishing into the distance in a blink. When it hit the ground several hundred meters away, a massive explosion erupted.

BOOM—!!

A thunderous roar shattered the stillness as the shockwave spread outward for hundreds of meters.

The blast reached even where Riku and Naruto stood, shaking the earth and sending a gale-force wind through their hair.

Riku’s hair was short, but Naruto’s forehead protector nearly flew off.

Both Naruto and Jiraiya stood stunned by the sheer force of the explosion.

Jiraiya, in particular, recognized just how terrifying the technique truly was.

"There are thousands—no, tens of thousands of microscopic Wind blades in that thing. It’s like it cuts down to the cellular level. This... this isn’t a normal jutsu at all."

Then something struck Jiraiya. With a flicker, he used the Body Flicker Technique and appeared beside Riku.

He immediately grabbed Riku’s right wrist. "Riku—your hand. Let me see it."

Riku understood what he meant and calmly held out his hand.

Jiraiya examined it. Not a scratch.

His brows furrowed. "That’s... strange. By all logic, this jutsu should cause extreme damage to the user’s hand. That kind of chakra density and Wind blade fragmentation... your hand should be destroyed."

Naruto looked over, alarmed. "This jutsu is really that dangerous?"

Riku chuckled. "Yeah. Extremely. It’s classified as an S-rank jutsu. If it weren’t for certain... adjustments I made, anyone else who tried to use it would probably lose their arm."

Jiraiya looked at him, serious. "So... you actually solved the self-damage problem of the Rasenshuriken?"

Riku nodded.
