Chapter 847: Even Death Brings No Piece
The Bloodthirsty Bee's stinger vibrated relentlessly, each vibration releasing an impact that slammed into Lin Moyu like a distinct attack.
The attack frequency was high—dozens of strikes every second.
Under the barrage, Bone Armor shattered and reformed again and again.
Law art linkage triggered continuously, while Bone Fangs and Bone Spear illuminated the surroundings as brightly as daylight.
The four-star law art was incapable of harming the Bloodthirsty Bee. The gap between them was simply too great.
Yet the Bloodthirsty Bee couldn't harm Lin Moyu either. His defense was utterly monstrous.
A pale hand shot forward and seized the bee's long stinger.
Its surface was lined with serrated edges that glinted with cold, razor-sharp light.
The contrast between the deadly edges and Lin Moyu's bare hand was stark.
Ordinarily, souls were intangible. But once manifested into physical form, they could be touched.
Gray-white mist rose from Lin Moyu's palm as the law of undeath surged forth, instantly engulfing the Bloodthirsty Bee.
Although he couldn't directly fuse laws into his law arts, nothing prevented him from wielding them independently.
The law of undeath possessed both life and death aspects. Unlike other law arts, which expressed only one aspect, it was vastly more volatile and powerful.
Whether it tapped into life or death depended entirely on Lin Moyu's will.
At that moment, it revealed its aspect of death—absolute and inescapable.
"Since you're already dead, your souls have no place remaining in this world."
Lin Moyu's voice rang out like the final judgment of the Grim Reaper.
The Bloodthirsty Bee immediately let out a shrill scream as its massive body convulsed violently.
Though it was a soul manifestation with True God realm strength, its essence was merely the fusion of one hundred thousand Bloodthirsty Bee souls.
Despite appearing as a single entity, it could still be torn apart.
The majority of those bees had long since died, leaving behind only their souls.
Now, the law of undeath brought them true death, true decay.
Under its shroud, numerous Bloodthirsty Bee souls began to wither and disintegrate, finally passing into oblivion.
The manifested soul trembled as its form grew increasingly transparent and its power steadily waned.
Had it been a truly unified existence, the law of undeath would not have been effective.
But it was a composite being, and each individual soul within it was exceedingly weak.
Meanwhile, the Skeletal Divine Archers relentlessly bombarded the Bloodthirsty Bee soul, accelerating its collapse.
The Bone Dragons unleashed Dragon breath carrying undeath fire.
Containing the death aspect of the law of undeath, the undeath fire merged with Lin Moyu's law and unleashed even greater destruction.
While not as effective as directly integrating the law into law arts, it provided an alternative form of enhancement.
Then, the Bloodthirsty Bee soul exploded and the manifestation vanished.
A crimson light flashed.
Fused law art: Time Curse!
At the same instant, the Undead Eye cast its gaze once more.
Without missing a beat, Lin Moyu multitasked effortlessly, recycling the remains of the recently slain Swamp Lizard and triggering Corpse Explosion.
After the relentless chain of attacks, silence descended upon the battlefield.
The buzzing of the Bloodthirsty Bee wings disappeared, replaced only by the faint grinding of bones of the undead.
A moment later, the undead army vanished as well, leaving the world completely still.
"All done."
Lin Moyu dusted off his hands as though he had merely completed a trivial chore.
Compared to his previous battles, or his confrontation with the Dragon Emperor, this fight was hardly worth mentioning.
From beginning to end, he hadn't even taken a single step.
Emperor Di's expression was very complicated.
At first, he had believed death was inevitable. He had even prepared himself to sacrifice his life, instinctively intending to shield Lin Moyu from the fatal blow.
Yet in the blink of an eye, everything was over.
The Bloodthirsty Bee swarm, a nightmare that struck fear throughout the deep layer, had been wiped out with ease.
Even the giant Bloodthirsty Bee that appeared at the end had ultimately fallen to Lin Moyu.
His strength had far surpassed Emperor Di's expectations.
Then Emperor Di saw a pillar of light erupt from Lin Moyu's body and shoot into the sky.
His expression grew even more complicated, tinged with unmistakable envy.
In the entire world, Lin Moyu was probably the only person capable of using Bloodthirsty Bees to level up.
By annihilating the swarm, he successfully advanced from level 95 to level 96.
His soul force increased once more, and even his soul rank rose slightly.
Previously, there had been a vast gap between his level and soul rank. Now, that gap had narrowed to a single level.
The increase in level naturally enhanced his combat strength. Although the improvement wasn't dramatic, that wasn't what mattered most.
The truly important thing was that if he wished to become world lord, he first had to reach level 99 and then break through to the Transcendent God realm.
Only then could he gain the world will's recognition and become world lord.
Less than four years remained until the next Demon descent.
Within that time, he needed to reach the Transcendent God realm, become world lord, and devour the fragment worlds. Only then could he strengthen the world origin and eliminate the threat once and for all.
"Senior, let's check the entrance."
With a wave of Lin Moyu’s hand, a torrent of flames erupted.
Star-grade law art: Raise Dead!
The Bloodthirsty Bees were resurrected within the flames, and the world that had only just fallen silent was once again filled with buzzing.
Not only had the hundred thousand Bloodthirsty Bees been slaughtered to fuel Lin Moyu's advancement, but even death brought them no peace—enslaved before eventually being reduced to ashes.
Thinking of it, Emperor Di couldn't help but pity the Bloodthirsty Bees.
At the same time, he gained an even deeper understanding of how terrifying Lin Moyu truly was.
With such abilities, his forces could grow stronger through battle.
Sweeping through the deep layer would be effortless for him.
With the Bloodthirsty Bees clearing the path, the two crossed the swamp and arrived at the channel entrance.
On the spatial barrier, a mass of five-colored mist drifted slowly.
The mist wasn't particularly dense, and under the starlight from the greater world reflected by the barrier, it was difficult to notice.
Earlier, from across the swamp, Lin Moyu hadn't detected it at all.
As the Bloodthirsty Bees drew near, the mist suddenly churned violently.
A pair of eyes emerged from within.
They were deep and devoid of light, like bottomless black holes capable of devouring all light.
A nose followed, then a mouth, until an entire human face materialized.
There was no mistaking it—it looked exactly like a human face.
"Turn back!"
A majestic voice thundered from the mist, shaking space itself and causing the surrounding area to distort.
The Bloodthirsty Bees were jolted backward. Many of the weaker ones died instantly, disintegrating into ash.
Emperor Di let out a muffled groan.
The voice carried a soul attack, causing his soul to shake violently.
Lin Moyu, however, felt almost nothing. His soul was powerful enough to withstand it.
That single shout revealed the opponent's terrifying strength.
The voice alone could seriously injure a half-step Transcendent God expert.
Anyone at level 96 would likely be killed instantly.
Yet in Lin Moyu's perception, the entity possessed no life force whatsoever.
Now that he wielded the law of undeath, his sensitivity to life force had reached an extraordinary level.
The entity was not a living being.
A puppet?
The moment the thought surfaced, Lin Moyu became increasingly convinced.
Without even a trace of life, it could only be a puppet.
"You can speak?" Lin Moyu asked probingly
The face in the mist turned toward him, its black eyes fixing him with a gaze that would terrify most people.
Gradually, it frowned.
It discovered it couldn't see through him.
Lin Moyu asked again, "Are you the gatekeeper?"
The face did not answer directly, "You do not yet possess the qualifications to enter.”
"What qualifications are required?"
"At least Transcendent God realm."
The answer confirmed several things.
The entity was indeed a gatekeeper, and it possessed a degree of intelligence—though likely not a great deal.
A puppet capable of speech and independent thought was exceedingly rare.
At the very least, the humans of this small world couldn't create such a thing.
It was doubtful even the people of the previous age possessed that capability.
This gatekeeper puplet almost certainly originated from the greater world.
Lin Moyu pressed, "Must one truly reach the Transcendent God realm to leave? As far as I know, people below the Transcendent God realm have left in the past.”
