Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha

Episode 161: Lower Vampires and Folklore

- You have a person who owns so many books personally.

I've been shown the Latour family's finances more than once before, but still I had enough books in that room to make me want to think so again.

"It's something we've collected over the years... so it's not that hard over time, is it?

says Laura.

Isaac and I are out of hand so far in the middle of looking for something in that room that might be of use to me in the Holy Qi related stuff.

Watching Isaac go and go between the bookshelves over there and up the ladder makes me feel somewhat sorry for the hassle.

You're looking for a book for me.

I know I should help, but I have no idea where or what it is.

Isaac seems to have it firmly in his head, and he's not too lost in its footsteps to go bookshelving.

It's just a lot of numbers.

Stuffed up one after the other on my desk...... so many.

Well, I don't hate reading either, but I'm basically a normal adventurer.

There is something tough about boulders when it comes to specialty books, to the extent that you can read some words and, well, difficult books.

I guess I'll just have to throw a round at Lorraine......

"Taking the time, the book won't be cheap. I don't think I can do it."

"Really? Mr. Lent's recent activities have reached your ears. Regardless of my request… I heard I made a lot of money selling Tarasque material."

Sure, there are so many sources of income for me these days.

I was able to sell Talask's materials the other day, and even though Laura's Dragon Blood Flowers didn't come here today for that purpose, I also received a reward for it because I had to deliver them at least once. I would like to get away from the city malt as soon as I can because I have Niv, but I am also prepared to make a long journey in the first place. I believe it will take about a week, so in the meantime, I am going to go to the Tarask Marsh and deliver it again or so. Go once. I know the terrain, and I have a body that doesn't have a problem poking through the poison swamp. Now that we can reach the "Dragon Blood Flower" herd much earlier than before, it is also possible enough to collect it between preparations.

In addition, we can afford to live normally because we are able to collect more and more different things than we used to, such as the pig ghost Oak and some other labyrinth material.

But the book is still tough.

I can buy a few books, but I can't tell you how to collect enough here.

I would need thousands or tens of thousands of white gold coins......

If my forehead is that big, I wonder if it would be divine silver (misril) coins or something.

Money I've never seen before.

It is the first currency that the general public does not see, used exclusively in the payment of state and large chambers of commerce.

... Though Laura is likely to have enough to roar.

But nevertheless......

"You say you're ears fast, or you know it well. Talask deal is the other day."

With that said, Laura smiled a little,

"The Latour family's ears ask anything about the city of Malt."

and say something a little scary.

It is a house that is heavily involved in the operation of this city malt.

Naturally, I can't help but be surprised at that word, which seems to grasp every single transaction between an individual and the Chamber of Commerce.

Then,

"... Now, I was wondering if you could give me a rough idea"

Looks like Isaac's finished collecting his books, and that's what he said in front of the stacked books.

It's not all stacked in one place, it's stacked in about three categories

Isaac first shows one mountain and says:

"This is the operation of Sacred Qi - that is, the technology called Sacred Qi, Sacred Qi, or Sacred Swordsmanship, etc., which has an overview. I think it would be nice to be read around here at first."

Sacred chi magic will fall into the category of Sacred Chi or Sacred Chi.

I think Sacred Swordsmanship was about the way Sacred Qi operates, mediated by the tools used by Sacred Knights and others.

I'm not that familiar with it either.

As for holy chi, I just get some sort of overview.

Isaac shows the other mountains and goes on.

"This book is about the Divine Spirit, the source of Holy Qi. The number of divine spirits, as you know, cannot be counted, so it does not describe all of them exhaustively. I think it takes knowledge and time to decipher it relatively, as it involves a lot of historical stuff, not a simple explanation for that. I suggest you take your time around here."

There are many difficult problems with the divine spirit.

There are not many religious communities in the world, each of which has the exact same god, and even if there is one, the legends and so on are very different.

There have also been many wars and so on between religions, and few religions have perished as a result, as well as the gods it worshipped.

For this reason, it takes extensive knowledge of what's going on to find out about them.

Naturally, I don't have that kind of knowledge, and I'm going to have to throw a round at Lorraine about this area.

It kind of makes me feel like I'm relying on you and sorry... well, you're the type who can't wait to say that you like research.

They'll be happy for you to read a new book.

Of course, I won't forget to thank you.

"The last of these books… is the one describing the village of Hathhara, the folklore around which Mr. Lent is going to be heading, etc. The numbers are small, but I thought it might help something..."

The last mountain Isaac showed is certainly less than the other two.

Or it wouldn't be a mountain.

Because there are only two books.

But still, there were books and stuff that collected folklore around there...

Of course, it wouldn't basically exist if people lived in places where there's no folklore at all, but there's not as many crazy people out there who bother to collect it and try to turn it into a book.

It is rather normal that such books do not exist at all.

Yet there are two books...

If you roll around on the spot with the parallax, it looks like one is a picture book and the other is just a Hatohara - rather than a collection of folklore from the whole area around the city malt.

I see, this would be satisfactory.

The picture books also portray famous stories in them.

When I was little, it also had some stories like what I used to hear in the village, and it kind of makes me feel nostalgic.

"Enough. With all this, it would be some kind of thread. It's going to take a while to read... but some of my friends like that."

"When I say friend, are you Mr. Lorraine"

Laura did, she asked.

I'm a little scared to know, as a matter of course, but it would still be like that, I have to think.

"Oh. That's right. With so many books, he's going to be so happy."

In fact, all the books we have here are things I haven't seen much of.

At the end, there are shelves lined with books like the ones we normally sell in Malt's bookstores, but only partially.

All the other shelves are like nothing I've ever seen in Malt's bookstore or even in Lorraine's house.

When Lorraine arrives, it will be a mountain of treasure, and she will shine her eyes.

To my words with that meaning in mind, Laura said,

"If that's the case, you can stay with Mr. Lorraine this time. I haven't used this room much lately, so I'd be happy with the book if someone could use it."

That's what I said.

"... okay? If you bring him here like this, that's what keeps him caged all day. I may not even answer if I tell you to leave..."

Basically, I know common sense and courtesy, Lorraine, but when a book of my own interest is in front of me... there's no chance that the screws will just come off a little bit.

If you find out I said this, you might get mad at me with a frightened face, even I'm not that far away.

Said that to me, Laura,

"I don't mind. Come whenever you want and go home whenever you want. I was just hoping I'd have some tea friends, too."

That's what I say.

Friends?

Is Laura me......

And even though it's problematic to think about your client, if you do become the owner of the house to this point, friends may be hard to make.

I think.

Well, maybe he's just saying it's convenient, or he's just saying that with care.

"If that's what you say, let's talk to Lorraine next time.... Are you sure?

For once, I asked as a final confirmation, but Laura still nodded,

"Yeah, definitely."

And I really looked forward to responding.
