Soon, the sound of running water echoed from the bathroom. Su Yuqing got out of bed and skillfully folded Chen Mo’s comforter, then smoothed out the slightly wrinkled sheets.

After she was done, she opened the bedroom window, letting the cool morning breeze drift into the room.

She suddenly felt as if she and Chen Mo were a newlywed couple. Waking up in the same bed, then skillfully tidying up the room...

The feeling was not only reassuring but also brought a strange sense of bliss.

After making the bed, she gave a slight yawn, opened the door, and headed for the kitchen.

Before heading to the kitchen, however, Su Yuqing called out toward the bathroom, "Chen Mo, what do you want for breakfast? I’ll go make it now."

"What?" The sound of the water suddenly cut out.

Su Yuqing repeated what she had just said.

"I think we overslept a bit, and it’s getting late. Let’s just make some instant ramen; it’ll be faster."

"Okay."

The sound of water in the bathroom started again. Su Yuqing glanced at the time; they had woken up at least thirty minutes later than usual.

Even so, she didn’t mind much. With a smile gracing the corners of her eyes, she hummed a little tune as she ambled toward the kitchen.

Last night, her mind had been filled with naughty thoughts, causing her to toss and turn for ages before she finally fell asleep while hugging Chen Mo from behind.

She didn’t even know what time she had finally drifted off.

All she knew was that she had slept incredibly soundly and peacefully, so she was surprised to find she’d slept in for so long.

Whenever she recalled Chen Mo’s scent from up close, Su Yuqing’s heart would feel completely at ease, filled with a strange, sweet feeling.

It was to the point that even as she went about her morning tasks, her mind was still replaying the feeling and scent of being held in Chen Mo’s arms.

The last time she’d made food for Chen Mo, it was sandwiches, and his review had been decent. Making instant ramen was much less difficult.

She took out the instant ramen, added some ham, a fried egg, and vegetables, and let it all cook for a short while before it was ready to serve.

Soon, Chen Mo emerged from the bedroom, fully dressed. When he saw Su Yuqing still bustling around the kitchen, he hurried over to take over.

"It’s almost ready. Just give it another three minutes, then you can dish it out," Su Yuqing said before heading back to the bedroom to wash up.

Chen Mo smiled as he watched her go to the balcony, retrieve her clean, dry school uniform and bra, and disappear into the bedroom. ’He couldn’t help but wonder if his own mornings would be this cozy, once he had a wife someday.’

After Su Yuqing left, Chen Mo only needed to handle the finishing touches, but he still made a few of his own adjustments.

He rinsed the hot noodles in cold water before returning them to the bowls.

This would make them much chewier.

Chen Mo divided the noodles and the other ingredients from the pot into two bowls.

However, he didn’t pour the broth into Su Yuqing’s bowl just yet.

Only when Su Yuqing, now fully dressed, came to the dining room did Chen Mo finally pour the hot broth into her bowl.

A bowl of hot broth is actually quite comforting in the morning.

The moment she took a sip of the broth, Su Yuqing noticed a hint of spice.

"I added a bit of pepper. It helps warm you up in the morning," Chen Mo explained with a smile, noticing her expression.

Su Yuqing nodded. She lifted some noodles with her chopsticks and slurped them down, then smiled at Chen Mo. "I was afraid I’d overcooked them, but they’re surprisingly firm."

"That’s because I rinsed them in cold water," he admitted. "But even with your cooking time, they wouldn’t have gotten too soft."

As they ate the breakfast they had made together, both felt it tasted exceptionally good.

After happily finishing their breakfast, the two of them quickly washed the dishes and left the house, walking side-by-side.

Although they had woken up half an hour later than usual, they had saved a lot of time on breakfast. Plus, since they didn’t live far from school to begin with, it was unlikely they would be late.

As soon as they walked into the classroom that morning, all eyes were on them once again.

After all, at an age defined by a budding, naive curiosity about the opposite sex, any topic involving cohabitation was bound to pique their interest.

They were very curious about how Chen Mo and Su Yuqing spent their nights after moving in together.

More than a few were even using them as fodder for their R-rated fantasies.

Su Yuqing was rather absent-minded throughout her morning classes.

After all, she had gone to bed late, so she was still a bit drowsy after getting up.

On top of that, Chen Mo had stirred something restless within her, causing her to zone out unconsciously as all sorts of wild thoughts popped into her head.

By the time the morning classes ended, it was safe to say she’d only paid attention to about half of them.

Because Chen Mo sat behind Su Yuqing, he didn’t notice anything unusual about her.

Soon, the bell rang for lunch, and just like that, the morning was over.

When the two of them returned home at noon, a package was already waiting at their door.

Su Yuqing was a little curious to see that Chen Mo had bought two boxes of something.

It wasn’t until Chen Mo opened the package that she saw he’d actually bought a security camera and an alarm.

She followed him curiously, only to realize he intended to install both devices outside her window.

Once they were outside, Chen Mo again inspected the ground nearby.

He had deliberately erased the footprints in this area yesterday.

Now, looking again at noon, he saw that the prints from normal foot traffic had reappeared.

That, however, didn’t concern Chen Mo.

What did concern him was that the pair of footprints facing Su Yuqing’s guest room window had appeared again.

In other words, in the nearly twenty-four hours between yesterday afternoon, when he’d cleared the footprints, and noon today, someone had once again stood before the window of Su Yuqing’s room and looked inside.

This immediately put Chen Mo on high alert.

Seeing Su Yuqing right behind him, he nonchalantly scuffed out the footprints to avoid frightening her.

He quickly set up the ladder he’d brought along, grabbed his tools and the camera, and began the installation.

Su Yuqing was a little surprised as she watched Chen Mo install the camera. His movements were so practiced and fluid, as if he’d done it a hundred times before.

’I never knew Chen Mo was so handy.’

After mounting the camera under the eaves, Chen Mo installed the alarm in an inconspicuous spot on the security bars of Su Yuqing’s window.

If anyone were to reach a hand through the bars, the sensor would immediately trip, sending a signal to the main unit and triggering a loud alarm.

Once everything was set up, he wiped the sweat from his brow and smiled at Su Yuqing. "I heard some burglars have been active in the area recently. Your window was the only spot without a camera, so this will be safer."

Su Yuqing didn’t suspect a thing. She just felt that Chen Mo was being very responsible and was touched by his concern for her safety.

A warm feeling spread through her chest as she took out a tissue and gently wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Chen Mo glanced around the area. There was no one nearby. ’Good. The stalker shouldn’t know I’ve installed a camera.’

’I wonder if I’ll be able to catch this mysterious person on camera tonight!’
