Chapter 493: Leon VS Chairman Dominik [2]
Leon and Dominik exchanged blows for several minutes inside the chamber, neither of them using any skills as they relied entirely on their swordsmanship to fight against each other.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Their swords repeatedly collided, producing powerful shockwaves that spread throughout the chamber, while both fighters continuously adjusted their movements to counter their opponent’s attacks.
"You look quite young, and yet, you have the experience of someone who has been doing this for decades," Dominik remarked as he narrowly avoided one of Leon’s strikes before immediately retaliating with several consecutive attacks. "Is this what it means to be a Celestial? Gaining such a huge advantage from the very beginning?"
Leon didn’t reply, instead focusing on defending himself as he dodged nearly a dozen attacks in a matter of seconds.
’I need to confirm what is considered magic and what isn’t.’
The Zero-Magic Zone had already prevented Leon from using most of his abilities.
However, there were still three abilities he could use as they were mainly physical: [Dark Crescent Slash], [Abyssal Execution], and [Eclipse Annihilation].
With them, he could still have a chance of defeating Dominik despite the restrictions imposed by the chairman’s ability.
Unfortunately, his attempts to activate [Venom Nova], [Void Detonation], and even [Shadow Bullets] had all failed, suggesting that most of his skills relied on magic to function.
’Let’s see if this works.’
"Why don’t you use the power given to you by the God of Magic?" Leon shouted as he deflected another attack, pushing Dominik’s sword away. "Surely, you have some powerful magic!"
"Because yours is still stronger," Dominik replied with a widening smile. "I can sense it quite clearly. Your skills are simply far too powerful for me to compete with!"
Leon narrowed his eyes slightly, realizing that Dominik’s decision to rely on his physical strength wasn’t simply because of the Zero-Magic Zone.
Even with the blessing of the God of Magic, his opponent believed that Leon’s magical abilities were superior.
Dark Crescent Slash!
Leon immediately swung his sword, releasing a massive crescent-shaped wave of darkness that rushed toward Dominik with tremendous speed.
The chairman reacted by swinging his own sword, releasing a similar crescent of energy that collided with Leon’s attack.
BOOM!
The two attacks clashed in the middle of the chamber, producing a powerful explosion that shook the surrounding walls.
However, Dominik quickly realized that his attack wasn’t strong enough to completely neutralize Leon’s crescent, forcing him to release several more in rapid succession.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The additional attacks finally managed to destroy Leon’s skill before it could reach him, leaving Dominik standing unharmed.
"Your affinitiy with the elements is outstanding," Dominik remarked with an approving nod, "But let’s end this."
Dominik’s arm suddenly began glowing with an intense aura, and the same energy quickly spread throughout his sword, causing its blade to radiate an increasingly powerful light.
He raised his weapon before swinging it with tremendous force, releasing a glowing, lasso-like object that rapidly rushed toward Leon, twisting through the air as it attempted to wrap itself around his body.
’Shit!’
Abyssal Execution!
Leon’s body immediately began sinking into the ground, allowing him to disappear just as the glowing lasso reached his previous position.
BOOM!
The lasso snapped shut before releasing an enormous explosion, completely destroying the area where Leon had been standing and creating a massive crater in the ground.
’Damn!’
Leon remained underground, carefully observing Dominik’s movements while moving toward one of the corners of the chamber.
The ability allowed him to conceal his presence beneath the surface, making it almost impossible his opponent to locate him.
"Where are you?" Dominik asked as he looked around the chamber, trying to detect Leon’s presence. "Trying to surprise me? You can’t do anything in here. I have complete control!"
Leon didn’t respond, nor did he attempt to move from his hiding spot, charging up the power of his skill.
One minute passed, followed by another, but Dominik still couldn’t find him.
The chairman continued searching throughout the chamber, occasionally releasing small bursts of aura to detect any movement, yet Leon’s presence remained completely undetectable.
Dominik could still sense the three girls waiting outside the chamber, which made Leon’s disappearance even more unusual.
It was as though the human had completely vanished, leaving no trace of his existence behind.
By the time five minutes had passed, Dominik had finally lost his patience.
"If you’re hiding, then I’ll get you out of your hiding spot!"
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Dominik raised his sword and unleashed several powerful arcs of aura, sending them crashing into different parts of the chamber.
Each attack produced an enormous explosion upon impact, destroying large sections of the ground and damaging the surrounding walls.
However, none of his attacks reached the corner where Leon was hiding, allowing him to remain completely undisturbed as he watched Dominik’s increasingly desperate attempts to locate him.
"You..."
Dominik’s expression began changing as he realized that something was wrong.
His frustration gradually turned into concern, especially since he had no idea what Leon was preparing while remaining hidden.
"WELL!" Dominik suddenly roared, "If you want to hide so much, then I’ll go kill your little companions!"
Fwoosh!
Dominik immediately rushed toward the entrance, moving with tremendous speed as he raised his sword and swung it directly at the enormous gates.
BOOM!
The gates were completely torn apart by the attack, their shattered remains scattering across the ground and revealing Emilia, Violet, and Celeste standing behind them.
Dominik immediately turned toward the three girls, preparing to eliminate them now that Leon had refused to reveal himself.
However, just as he was about to attack, Leon suddenly emerged from beneath the ground behind him.
He had remained hidden for several minutes, charging the power of his [Abyssal Execution] skill while waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.
After six minutes of preparation, he had finally accumulated enough power to unleash an attack capable of threatening Dominik.
SLASH!
Dominik immediately sensed the danger and turned around, raising his sword while focusing the entirety of his physical strength into his arms to deflect the incoming attack.
Unfortunately, he quickly realized that Leon’s strike was far more powerful than anything he had previously faced.
FWOOSH!
The two swords collided, producing an enormous shockwave, but Dominik’s weapon couldn’t withstand the tremendous force behind Leon’s attack.
CRACK!
His sword began breaking apart as Leon’s blade tore through it, completely shattering the weapon and leaving the chairman defenseless.
Dominik’s eyes widened as he watched his sword disintegrate, but the surprise quickly turned into pure rage.
"YOU!"
Without wasting any time, Dominik concentrated his remaining strength into his fist, causing his hand to glow with an intense aura before punching Leon directly in the face.
BAM!
The enormous force behind the attack sent Leon flying across the chamber, his body crashing into the wall with enough strength to create a massive crater.
Blood immediately flowed from his mouth and nose as he struggled to regain his balance, while the impact caused pieces of debris to fall from the damaged wall.
"Idiotic!" Dominik roared as he stepped forward, his expression filled with anger. "You believe destroying my sword will be enough?! Maybe you think I’ll be forced to use magic because of that, but not at all!"
Despite losing his weapon, Dominik remained confident in his physical strength.
He didn’t need a sword to defeat his opponent, especially when his fists were more than capable of inflicting tremendous damage.
Fwoosh!
The chairman dashed forward with incredible speed, raising his glowing fist as he prepared to smash it directly through Leon’s face once more.
However, just as his fist was about to connect, Leon, who was still leaning against the damaged wall with blood dripping from his mouth and nose, suddenly smiled.
His sword began flashing with an intense combination of crimson and white light, the two colors intertwining as an enormous amount of power surged throughout its blade.
Dominik’s expression changed as he noticed the sudden glow, but by the time he realized what Leon was preparing, it was already too late.
Leon tightened his grip around his sword as Dominik approached.
"Goodbye."
