Chapter 494: The God of War’s Intervention
Eclipse Annihilation!
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Dozens upon dozens of slashes erupted across Dominik’s body just as he was about to punch Leon again, striking him from every direction before he could react.
The first attack cut deeply into his chest, causing his body to shudder from the impact, and the following strikes arrived almost immediately, tearing through his defenses and leaving him unable to counterattack.
Dominik’s arms were severed as more slashes struck his body, followed by his legs.
His chest and face were soon covered in countless wounds, and the overwhelming force of the skill continued to tear through him until he could no longer remain standing.
The chairman finally collapsed to the ground, his body covered in injuries as the last of Leon’s attacks struck him.
His eyes lost their remaining light, and he lay motionless before Leon, who slowly lowered his sword.
"...Heh."
Leon couldn’t help but smile as he stood over Dominik’s body.
"Looks like the blessing of the gods wasn’t enough to save you."
With the battle seemingly over, Leon walked past Dominik’s body and turned his attention toward the panels that had appeared around him.
Ding!
[You have killed "Divine Academy Teacher, Alicar" and gained...]
[You have killed "Divine Academy Teacher, Leoric" and gained...]
Leon glanced at the notifications, recognizing the names of two teachers who had been part of the battle.
The other three teachers, Domi, Monika, and Lotus, had each been killed by Violet, Emilia, and Celeste, so they must have received the remaining notifications themselves.
However, after waiting for several seconds, Leon noticed that no additional panel appeared.
His expression immediately changed as he looked back at Dominik’s body.
He had personally killed the chairman, and there was no reason for the system to ignore such a significant achievement.

Even if Dominik had possessed some unusual ability, Leon had inflicted enough damage to leave him completely motionless, and the chairman had shown no signs of surviving the attack.
Not wanting to take any chances, Leon immediately turned around and dashed toward the corpse.
SLASH!
He swung his sword repeatedly, cutting through Dominik’s already damaged body and separating what remained of his limbs.
He continued attacking until he was certain that the chairman’s body had been thoroughly destroyed, then raised his sword and decapitated him.
Yet even after doing all of that, no notification appeared.
Leon stepped back and stared at the remains, his eyes narrowing as he tried to understand what could have happened.
There was no doubt that Dominik was dead, but the system’s silence suggested that the situation was far from over.
’Something’s wrong.’
Leon lifted his staff and attempted to use his magic, however, no matter how much energy he tried to channel through it, nothing happened.
The Zero-Magic Zone was still active.
Leon frowned as he lowered his staff, this was particularly concerning, he had expected the zone to disappear once he was defeated.
He then turned toward the entrance, where Emilia, Celeste, and Violet were waiting.
He gestured for them to stay where they were, making it clear that they shouldn’t enter the chamber yet.
"What’s happening?" Emilia asked, looking toward Dominik’s remains. "We killed all of them, right?"
"Leon said there were six of them, so yes, that should be all," Violet replied, though she was clearly uncertain. "Unless something happened."
"M-Maybe the gods did something?" Celeste suggested nervously. "I still have no idea what their powers are, but they seem so strong..."
Leon was about to respond when Emilia suddenly clutched her head in pain.
Her expression changed as she sensed something, and she immediately raised her voice to warn him.
"B-Be careful!"
Leon reacted instantly, pushing himself away from Dominik’s body before anything else could happen.
A few seconds later, a powerful explosion erupted from the chairman’s remains, sending a shockwave throughout the chamber and filling the area with thick mist.
Leon raised his sword and remained on guard, watching the mist carefully as he tried to sense whatever had caused the explosion.
The moment it appeared, he felt a faint presence within it, one that was so small that it was difficult to detect, yet powerful enough to make him cautious.
As the mist gradually faded, a familiar figure emerged from within it: Dominik was standing once again.
However, something about him was clearly different.
A faint red mist surrounded his body, moving around him as though it were alive, while the presence Leon had sensed seemed to originate from within the chairman himself.
"Why are you doing this?"
Dominik’s mouth opened, but Leon immediately realized that the voice coming from it didn’t belong to the chairman.
"You are a Celestial," the figure continued. "You should not be fighting the gods."
Leon didn’t respond, carefully observing the man in front of him.
"God of War?" he said simply, tilting his head, understanding what was happening.
The God of War had taken control of Dominik’s body and was now using it to communicate with him.
"What you are doing will lead to our mutual destruction," the god continued.
"You’re the one granting all these people blessings to kill me," Leon answered as he pointed his sword toward Dominik. "If you wish for peace, then return to the Eternal Domain and stop messing around."
Dominik’s body remained still for a few seconds, and then his head moved in a slight nod, almost as though the god were agreeing with Leon’s words.
However, that impression quickly disappeared when a massive smile spread across the chairman’s face.
The expression was unnatural, and Leon could tell that it wasn’t something Dominik himself would have done.
"You have foiled my plan in the Imperial Kingdom and eliminated my servants of the Divine Academy," the God of War declared. "Decades of preparations, gone."
"I will never allow you to leave. All that I wish for is that the Celestials understand why one of their own had to go."
"They’ll kill you the moment you do that," Leon replied with a smile. "You don’t stand a chance."
Of course, Leon was completely bluffing.
He had never met any of the Celestials.
He didn’t even understand their relationship with the gods, nor did he know what kind of power they possessed or how they would react if one of their own were killed.
Nevertheless, his words seemed to have an effect.
The presence surrounding Dominik shuddered slightly, and Leon immediately noticed the reaction.
’He’s actually scared!’
He found it interesting that even a god could be unsettled by the possibility of being killed.
Although he had no idea how powerful the Celestials truly were, the God of War’s reaction suggested that they were capable of destroying him easily.
"...That may be true," the God of War eventually admitted, taking a deep breath through Dominik’s body. "But if they kill me, they’ll have to kill the God of Magic too, and then..."
The god stopped speaking before finishing his sentence, and the presence surrounding Dominik darkened slightly.
Leon didn’t bother asking what he had meant.
"...Anyway, die, human."
Fwoosh!
The God of War suddenly dashed forward, controlling Dominik’s body as he threw a powerful punch toward Leon.
"I guess this isn’t over," Leon sighed, his eyes flaring, "But even if controled by a God, I’ll kill you."
