Chapter 121: Curious Beastmen
Ayra was done cleaning up and now returning with Ally in her arms. Commander Lynn followed her behind like a loyal guard while she made her way to her house.
As she moved, some beastmen stared at them from the corner as though she was holding some gold or something. Ayra was confused, wondering why the beastmen were staring at her.
Soon, she paused as she turned and stared at the beastmen with a smile. These were warrior beastmen who were previously practicing, some teens who were playing games and other beastmen who were going about their day.
"Is there a problem?" Ayra asked with a smile, curious to know what they’d say.
These beastmen instantly panicked as they turned around as if nothing was wrong. But Ayra knew there was something.
"Nothing," they said shyly, looking away.
But Ayra approached them with a smile as she asked, "Don’t worry, feel free to ask me. It’s okay," she assured them.
The beastmen hesitated, staring at themselves before one of the youth stepped forward and said, "We were just staring at the female and her cub right now...and we noticed how you two are suddenly glowing after taking a bath!"
"Yes! Exactly!" Another said. "The female and cub are just glowing after going to the stream. The two of you are also smelling so nice and refreshing! So it had us confused..."
"Yes... because we also take our baths too! But we don’t glow so nicely or smell so nice like the female..." The teen scratched his head. "So we were wondering what the female does differently."
They all nodded in unison.
Ayra smiled at them. "Oh, I see. Is that the problem?"
They nodded in unison again. "That’s it."
"Yes. So we were wondering if the female could perhaps share her secret with us and tell us how to glow so much like the female and cub after taking their bath."
Most of them nodded while staring at the female and cub who were looking so bright and clean after their bath.
Ayra smiled as she stared at the cub playing in her arms as she said, "Well, perhaps the difference in it should be the soap and body wash used in taking the bath," she explained.
Immediately, the beastmen leaned closer curiously as soon as they heard what she said.
"Sop? Sap? What’s that...?"
"Wash body...? What’s that?" They were confused for a while there.
But Ayra smiled while explaining to them what these were and how they help make the body glow and look neater and feel fresher after every bath.
"Oh!" Everyone chorused, intrigued, as soon as she was done. They were curious to know more about this great substance.
"So where could we find it...?" They asked.
Ayra thought for a while. She considered her system providing soap for everyone in the tribe. But she didn’t think that would be so feasible.
Because if these beastmen needed soap, more would need it later on. And it would probably be something they’d need to use on a daily basis.
So she doubted her system would happily pump out soap and body wash for everyone on a daily basis. She didn’t even have enough for herself.
So the system wasn’t an option now. So Ayra thought for a while while the beastmen stared and waited for her, curious.
"I think the only option now is to make one..." She muttered.
"Make? Make what?" A beastman who had heard her asked. All staring curiously.
Ayra stared at them and then said, "We’ll have to make the soap so it can be enough for everyone. Make the best scenting soap that would be beneficial to all," she said with a smile.
"Make soap! Make soap!" Little Ally repeated excitedly while staring up at them.
"..."
Shocked, the beastmen around turned and stared down at the cub. They couldn’t believe their ears at all.
"Am I hearing things or...?" One asked. "Did the cub just speak...?"
Another nodded. "I also heard it..."
"The cub can...?"
They stared up at Ayra who casually smiled it off. "Yes. Ally is learning how to speak. So let’s be careful with the words we use around her..." She laughed softly.
"Oh! Yes!" The beastmen nodded.
Ayra quickly summoned the system and told the system about production of local soaps for the beastmen around.
The system presented Ayra with the ingredients that would be needed to be gathered locally from the tribe for the production of the soap.
After that, Ayra turned to the beastmen and said, "I’ll give you all some ingredients to gather. Then after gathering them, we’ll proceed with the production of it. Okay?"
No questions were asked. These beastmen all nodded profusely as they leaned in to ask, "So what is it? Tell us and we’ll head off to get it."
Ayra requested for something to write on. But one of the beastmen said, "No need for that at all. Just speak and we’ll listen and then we’ll get it!" He explained.
Ayra slowly nodded. "Oh, is that so? Okay then." And so Ayra began rattling down the ingredients for them to gather.
She requested they get some animal fat: Bear fat, deer fat or the likes. Some hardwood ash from trees like oak, maple or so. Some fragrance plants in form of flowers, leaves, tree materials (like cedar), fruit peels, spices and the likes.
"Pick the best scenting according to your preference for what you’d like," she explained.
Some natural coloring like turmeric (yellow), red clay, green herbs, purple berries etc. and exfoliating additions like ground oats, crushed walnut shells and the likes.
Ayra listed them all out to them in detail while they simply listened to the female listing out the ingredients and explaining them in detail.
"That’s all?" One asked after she was done.
Ayra nodded. "Yes."
"Don’t worry! We’ll make sure we get them all as soon as possible!" They said as they all set off.
Soon, Ayra was standing alone with her cub and Commander Lynn behind her.
She sighed as she thought, "I wonder if they actually did get it right...."
