Chapter 73: Well...
Ayra stared at them for a while and then said, "Oh, no need for that. I can find my way there."
"The public stream you use is not so good for you. You need somewhere that is definitely built for you!" One said.
Another nodded. "Yes, I heard females have delicate skins and need better water conditions. So we know a better place for you."
Ayra hesitated. She was skeptical about it but the triplets seemed convinced of what they were saying. And Ayra didn’t seem to have any choice but to agree.
"Oh.. okay then. Let’s go." She guessed they really knew what they were talking about. And so she followed them through the woods.
It wasn’t such a lonely path as the woods around still connected to the tribe. And as they passed, she could see some of the beastmen going about their days.
They had mostly stopped and flashed a smile at her. Some would ask, "Where are you going?"
And she’d casually say, "Busy."
The triplets led her ahead for a while until they finally arrived at their destination. It was indeed a stream. And although it was a bit far from where Ayra stayed, it was sure worth it.
The stream looked better compared to the previous one she knew. It was more spacious and seemed to have more depth. From a standpoint, Ayra could tell that the water felt more cool here as the atmosphere was calm.
The space was somewhat isolated with trees around. But it was expected for such a peaceful and spacious environment.
Ayra slowly nodded as she said, "Okay then... Thanks for your help, little ones. I’ll cherish this spot."
One of the zebras smiled. "We are glad you like it."
Ayra nodded at them. "Now you could head back. I’ll surely enjoy my bath."
But suddenly these triplets didn’t leave. They stood there staring at her.
Ayra blinked as an awkward silence filled the atmosphere.
"Okay...?" She raised an eyebrow. "Thanks again for the stream you found, so now can you.. leave?"
The triplets stared at each other and then stared at her. These teenage boys suddenly held cold gazes in their eyes as one of them suddenly pulled out a dagger from his side.
Ayra gasped as she stepped backwards. "Fuck.." She guessed she should have seen this coming.
These triplets pulled out their daggers as they slowly approached her. It was clear that they were out to take her down at the moment.
"Okay boys.. let’s put that down and think.. okay.. let’s not get rash.." Ayra hated her brain at the moment. She guessed she was getting used to all the kindness that she completely forgot that this was also a wild tribe!
A wild tribe dominated by men and crazy freaks. Not everyone here wanted the best for her! And now she was hit with that reality.
"We just want your blood. Just hand us your blood so we can use it to soothe ourselves for eternity and never have to worry about going berserk!" One of them said.
"Yes.. that’s all we need. Give us all your blood..." They approached her as she stepped backwards.
Ayra panicked. "Wouldn’t that mean killing me, you little pile of shit?" She snapped at them. She guessed they were obsessed with remaining sane without worry that they were willing to kill her off immediately.
"I can always soothe you when you’re berserk instead.. okay?" She tried reasoning with them. But it was clear that they didn’t want to.
These triplets were pulling closer.
"We don’t need that. We just need your blood!"
"But that’s not even how it works. My blood won’t do anything..." She fought the urge not to laugh at the end of her statement. But it didn’t matter.
"We’ll just have to find out about that!" These wild kids were set on killing her. And they attacked with their weapons.
But immediately, a walnut smashed on the head of the three of them simultaneously.
"Ouch!"
The triplets snapped as they turned to look around. The woods were quiet and empty so they didn’t see anyone at all.
"Who did that?" One asked.
Before the second one could speak, another walnut came smashing past three of their heads simultaneously again.
"Ah!" One cried out as they turned around. "Who the hell is doing that?!"
"Got any problem with the person?" And then came a calm and relaxed voice.
The triplets looked up as they instantly gasped at the familiar sight of Lord Ash sitting up on a tree branch, staring down at them.
Ash leaned against the tree, legs crossed as he casually ate an apple off his hand, staring down at them. "Now that you know the person, what are you going to do with him?"
The triplets immediately staggered backwards in shock. They didn’t expect to see Ash here at all. And now they knew their plan was ruined.
"Let’s get out of here..." One muttered as they nodded. They turned and were about running off through the other path.
"You little.." But Ayra wasn’t letting these kids get away from messing with her. She picked up a stone and threw it at one of them.
The stone hit his head as he instantly tripped and fell on the floor. The other two stumbled upon him and also fell flat on their faces.
They struggled to get up on their feet and run but it was already too late. Because as soon as they stood, they saw Lord Ash standing before them, arms folded as he studied their expressions.
The triplets gasped as they staggered backwards.
"So? What are you going to say? What explanations do you have for trying to harm my woman?" He asked with a smile, but a sharp contrast of cold ruthless eyes lingered deep.
Fear gripped these zebras as they moved backwards. They had nothing to say. They never thought they’d get caught. And now they knew they just had to escape. And so they turned to run off.
But Ash wasn’t letting them off. He effortlessly ran after them and slid his feet across them, instantly throwing them all on the floor again.
