Chapter 97: Eat Now.
Ayra walked into the entrance and arrived at the door. She was about to enter the room where the two berserk lords were—the familiar room where she had initially met them.
Ayra hesitated, staring at the tray in her hands as she took a deep breath, inhaling while activating the pheromones around her body.
[Ding!]
[Soothing pheromones activated]
Ayra then proceeded to make her way into the room. The first thing that caught her attention was the mess. Things were tossed around, broken. Bowls of meals and food were sprayed around in chaos. Ayra slowly stared around before she looked up at the two beds there.
The beds were occupied by the two of them, laying there while struggling to keep themselves in check. Ayra noticed them moving uncomfortably, groaning in pain while pressing their hands against their chests and bodies.
Lord Zark and Lord Vale were in internal and external pain. They were struggling with the injuries around their bodies while fighting the berserk mode erupting from within.
Ayra hesitated as she went to keep the tray on the table. And then she turned to the beastmen. She inhaled and exhaled again before approaching.
"I brought some soup..."
Immediately, the dragon lord jumped out of bed. Ayra was shocked as the dragon stood before her, grabbing her neck in his hand, gripping her firmly while pulling her close. His burning crimson eyes on her.
Ayra panted, staring deep into his furious eyes. "It’s me..." she said in a calm tone. She could tell he was losing his mind. This dragon could barely recall anyone. All that ran through his mind was to kill and destroy.
"It’s me... Ayra..." she said in a calm tone while forcing a smile.
Lord Zark held her firmly, growling furiously while his eyes burnt on her. His veins popped as his injuries glistened. His muscles popped as he held onto her, ready to tear her down.
But her pheromones spread through the room and invaded his nostrils. Ayra stood there, struggling to breathe while she let her pheromones do the work. And soon, it was altering the dragon’s actions as Lord Zark was losing his grip.
"Ayra..." the dragon called in a low growl, slowly letting go of her neck.
Ayra smiled as she brought up her hands to hold his. "Yes.. it’s me.." she held onto his hands, gently, letting her soothing energy run through him while her pheromones cleared his mind.
"It’s okay.. you’re safe... You’ll be fine.. it’s me.." She smiled as their eyes locked. His furious crimson eyes slowly cleared as he let out a gentle gasp.
The dragon slowly stepped backwards until he sat down in bed. His berserk wasn’t completely cleared, but Ayra had calmed him down temporarily.
Sitting down, Lord Zark shook his head as he looked around. "Where am I...? What happened...?" He said in a low growl, looking around.
Ayra smiled. "Don’t worry. You’re safe in your room.." She turned to the silver snake who was already awake. The snake lay on his bed, calm now with both gleaming eyes opened. He stared around the room, grasping where he was.
"You two are safe for now..." She said as she turned to the table. "I brought you something to eat," she smiled as she went to take the bowl.
Lord Vale slowly sat up in bed, running a hand through his head. "I don’t think I’m in the mood to eat..."
"No, you have to eat first if you want to be healed," she said as she cast him a lecturing gaze.
The snake sat down on his bed, staring at her like a student who was scolded by his master.
Ayra added, "So hurry up and come sit beside him so you two can eat..." It was an instruction.
Lord Vale wouldn’t ordinarily take orders from anyone at all. But at that moment, he was obedient. He followed the female’s instructions as he sat up and approached Lord Zark’s bed.
He sat down beside Lord Zark as the two obediently stared at Ayra who brought the meal before them on a tray. "Here.. it’s vegetable soup. It’s nourishing and will assist your recovery. So have it," she insisted.
But the two of them stared down at it, blinking. "It looks bitter.." Lord Zark shook his head. "I don’t think I can have it..."
But as he stared up, he saw Ayra’s cold expression, judging him endlessly. "It’s good for you, so listen to me and have it. Okay?"
They hesitated and stared at each other. And then slowly nodded.
Ayra kept the tray in-between them and had them take their own bowls of soup. She stood there arms folded like some babysitter, watching them take the soup into their mouths.
The two had the same reaction. Their eyes closed and faces squeezed while they drank from the bowl. It was indeed bitter.
"How is it...?" Ayra asked the obvious question, teasing them.
"Bitter," the two replied almost at the same time. But as they met Ayra’s serious face, they were quiet again, blinking.
Ayra shook her head with a smile as she said, "Bitter or not, you have to drink it clean. Or if you can’t, I can feed you."
"No, no need, I can manage..." Lord Zark said proudly.
But Lord Vale had slowly nodded, handing Ayra the bowl. "Yes.. feed me..."
"..." Ayra was surprised as she stared at Lord Vale. Even Lord Zark was surprised.
Vale blinked as he stared at them. "What? I can’t eat it alone... it’s bitter. So feed me.. please..."
Ayra shook her head with a smile as she took the bowl from his hand. She stirred it gently with the spoon for a while before raising it to Lord Vale’s mouth.
"Okay... Here you go.. ah.." she smiled as Lord Vale hesitated. Then he immediately opened his mouth as Ayra put the soup in.
Lord Zark blinked as he sat there, watching the two of them, speechless.
