Chapter 240 - 241: Stage Of Stabilizing Her Core
---
At Quinn’s location.
"Quinn, I think my core is about to stabilize." Lyra sat cross-legged the entire day, as she focused her attention on her core since yesterday.
"So it’s time." Quinn sat behind her back, while his palm touched her back.
"Thank you.." Lyra was quite excited; she wanted to know what kind of benefits she might gain. As of now, her stats were capped at 600 all.
Now that she was about to stabilize, she wanted to know what the upper limit of her absorption was—the last time, it was 3 elite cores. So she wanted to know..
Helen just sat in the corner together with the three... she finally recovered after the long session yesterday, and yes, she had already accepted Quinn as her fuck buddy.
Just a fuck buddy for now...
Though her heart beat faster whenever she took a glance at Quinn. He was so handsome and perfect that she couldn’t look away. In the future, she would fall in love... as she had already accepted everything.
"It’s happening now." Alice was focused too... she needed to know what kind of changes were occurring, as she could see everything inside her consciousness: three very small orbs orbiting around the massive core.
Fwoshhh!!!!
Lyra was engulfed with sparkling motes all over her body; it was like a storm as Quinn was also engulfed.
Neko had already stopped in her tracks long ago, as she could sense something going on with Lyra. Quinn was satisfied that he didn’t need to order Neko.
"Just focus on everything, Lyra. I will support you if you need help.." Quinn said, as he touched her back firmer. He could feel a burst of power in her body, like a force that was hard to describe.
Ding!
[ Lyra is now in the stage of stabilizing her core. ]
’What’s the purpose of this farce, System?’
[ This will help your bond to have an ultra boost when absorbing cores. ]
’Hmm, yes, I understand that part. So what is the possible upper limit for Lyra when absorbing cores now?’ Quinn was curious; maybe it would become two times more, right? That would be the best thing..
[ It depends on the tier and the potency of the core host. Lyra can at least absorb 10–12 cores with a Tier 5 rank from a higher race.. ]
’Ohh, that’s something good. Heh, it doesn’t matter, I will hunt down cores now.’ Quinn was satisfied to hear the system’s analysis.
[ But as always, one must stabilize the cores before consuming again if the upper limit is reached. ]
’It’s not a problem. A one month or weeks of stabilizing cores is a cheat compared to waiting to cultivate and absorb a trash core.’ Quinn already knew how hard it was for a normal human to absorb a core.
A weak, untalented human would take at least 1 week to absorb a Tier 1 core, and a lower quality one at that... so thinking about the cheat burst of power at every corner was like a heavenly gift.
That was not all, as Lyra’s core was already connected by the string of fate to Quinn’s core. If he managed to reach Master tier now, her upper limit would be even higher.
The possibility of her gaining a 1000 stats cap was not impossible; just that alone was shocking.
As of now, Lilith was the weakest among the five, as Helen took the fifth seat. Helen’s stats were low compared to the real deal, but it was not too shabby... a 900+ stat total was already monstrous.
While Lilith had around 400 stats, which meant she was the one slowly getting left behind.
She didn’t want that, of course, but the cooldown of the skill Quinn used on Lyra still had 5 weeks or so before it could be unlocked and accessed again. So she really needed to work harder.
Now back to the situation with Lyra..
They couldn’t see anything, as the color of the sparkling motes obscured their vision... though only Zero and Helen stared as the two entered her consciousness.
Then... a few minutes passed as the motes slowly disappeared, getting sucked into her body. While some impurities flowed out from her body, before they could stockpile, Alice used her skills to obliterate the impurities... making the scene even more mesmerizing, leaving Helen awestruck.
"How are you feeling now, Lyra?" Quinn finally opened his eyes.
Unfortunately, there was no mind-boggling event that happened... well, the event last time was already enough.
"Ahh, I think I can destroy anything... my body feels so light.."
"That’s good to hear... and congratulations, Lyra, you finally reached the Master tier." Quinn patted her head.
"Hehe, it’s all because of you. It wouldn’t have happened if not for you, Quinn.." Lyra smiled back; she wanted to get more praise from Quinn.
"So what do you think? Are you going to absorb the cores now?"
"Ahh, I think I need to rest my body for now, Quinn... the toll is taking a toll on my head.."
"That’s fine. Then rest for now, and we will continue that tomorrow.."
---
Quinn gently wrapped his arms around Lyra, pulling her close against his chest as her breathing slowly evened out into a quiet, peaceful sleep. Her core was throbbing with a steady, powerful rhythm, radiating a soft, warm light beneath her skin that showed just how drastically her entire foundation had evolved.
The rest of the girls gathered closer inside the luxurious interior of Neko, watching over Lyra with proud smiles. Alice sat down near her side, carefully running a damp cloth over Lyra’s forehead, while Lilith clenched her small fists, a renewed sense of determination burning within her eyes.
"She really did it..." Lilith whispered softly, her voice filled with admiration. "Master tier... she’s so much stronger now."
"You will get your turn soon too, Lilith," Alice said gently, offering a sweet, reassuring smile. "Quinn won’t leave any of us behind. We just need to support him and grow together as a family."
Helen watched the heartwarming scene from the corner, her heart swelling with an unfamiliar sensation. Coming from a world filled with fear, betrayal, and constant running, seeing such genuine warmth and absolute trust among Quinn’s wives made her realize just how special this group truly was.
Quinn wasn’t just a powerful warrior—he was a sanctuary for every woman who entered his life.
"Neko," Quinn commanded quietly, as he leaned back against the plush cushions with Lyra resting safely in his lap.
"Resume course toward the Naturehive Territory. Keep us hidden and maintain a steady speed."
The massive, magical construct gave a low, obedient hum in response, her sleek paws silently gliding across the open terrain as she picked up speed once again.
Outside the windows, the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting brilliant golden and crimson hues across the vast landscapes of the Crucible. With Lyra successfully breaking through her limits, their path ahead was clearer and more promising than ever.
