Mavis respectfully saluted her lord.

"Sorry, Mavis, did I disturb your vacation? You don’t have to bother with us, I’m just taking these kids out for a hunt."

Lady Euphilia waved her hand, indicating that her trusted subordinate need not stand on ceremony.

"How could it be a disturbance? Your will is the very reason for our legion’s existence, and managing this ranch is our duty. Please allow me to assist you as an attendant in your hunting."

The petite Time Dragon Witch raised her head, her intense gaze fixed upon the Dragon Queen. Her large, beautiful silver eyes revealed unabashed longing and anticipation.

"It’s really not necessary, Mavis, the main characters this time are the children, I’m just accompanying them. As I’ve said before, in work we are lord and retainer, but privately we are friends. It’s private time now, so you really don’t need to do this."

Lady Euphilia urged earnestly once more.

Though strict in her military governance, she was not one to improperly command vacationing subordinates on personal matters.

Especially since Mavis was not only her subordinate but also her former academic junior, renowned for her genius back then. With her abilities and talents, she could have joined a more prestigious battle group, but ultimately chose to join the then-unknown Legion of Destruction amidst everyone’s confusion.

Such deep sisterly bond it was.

Although she did take good care of this junior back in the academy, Lady Euphilia felt her minor acts of kindness could not compare to the many years of Mavis’s support and help.

Thus, Lady Euphilia was truly grateful to her junior who brought warmth during times of need, never treating her as a mere subordinate, but always giving her respect, genuinely regarding her as a sister.

Even within the Legion of Destruction, Mavis’s status was second only to her chief advisor.

"No, no, no, Lady Euphilia, it’s really not trouble. I mean, I also just happened to want to hunt, hunting is my favorite, please let me accompany you."

The delicate Time Dragon Witch shook her head insistently, and then awkwardly expressed.

The Homebody Witch watched the exchange between Mother Superior and this Time Dragon aunt, then blinked.

She turned to look at her simple-minded Mother Dragon, then at Mavis, who might as well have had her thoughts written on her face, and her smile gradually resembled Anya’s.

To this, the Homebody Witch naturally had no objection; though Mother Superior had no thoughts about Miss Mavis, she did. She coveted the young aunt’s....

"Lady Mavis, I kindly ask for your guidance."

However, the Time Dragon Witch’s gaze turned complex as she looked her over.

There was disdain, appreciation, jealousy, regret, and love by association....

Overall, it was very complicated.

Ultimately, Mavis neither cold nor warm, formally saluted as a retainer would to the household’s young lady.

"Young lady, taking care of you is my duty, you need not bother with courtesies."

In response, Dorothy was not too bothered, she didn’t expect the other party to be overly warm to the daughter of a love rival.

The main aim was to let Dorothy and the little witches new to this Ranch World adapt to its rules, needing to adjust to slightly suppressed powers before hunting, so as to avoid mistakes caused by discomfort.
