Chapter 662: Feed the Sharks
Fiona Linton stepped forward and untied the ropes binding her hands, giving her a warning look. "You’d better not try any tricks, or I’ll throw you into the sea to feed the sharks!"
Chloe Reed slowly nodded. She rubbed her wrists, easing the pain.
Next, Fiona Linton returned Chloe’s phone, stood before her with arms crossed, and said, "What’s your name? How old are you? Where are you from? Why are you looking for me? Tell me everything, and don’t leave anything out!"
Fiona Linton bent down, staring straight into her eyes. "If you dare lie to me, I’ll chop off your companion’s hands and feet first, and then I’ll chop off yours!"
She put on a ferocious expression, trying to intimidate Chloe Reed and keep her from trying any tricks.
Chloe Reed nodded and began typing on her phone.
As she typed, a synthetic female voice sounded out.
"My name is Chloe Reed, and I’m from Breyburn. My husband and I were poisoned. My voice was ruined, and his eyes are blind. I heard you’re very capable, so I want to ask for your help."
Listening to the synthetic voice, Fiona Linton raised her eyebrows in surprise. She instinctively leaned a little closer and asked, "How are you doing that?"
Chloe Reed paused for a moment, then demonstrated for her.
It was an app that, once configured, would vocalize whatever she typed in real-time.
Fiona Linton nodded in understanding, then realized this wasn’t the time for idle chatter. Her expression immediately turned serious again.
"Are you sure you don’t know Jasper Holloway?"
"I don’t know him."
Chloe typed, then looked up at her. The synthetic voice continued, "But I do know someone with the same last name."
"Who!"
Hearing this, Fiona Linton’s gaze fixed on her.
"Vera Holloway."
After typing the name, Chloe looked up at Fiona Linton.
Fiona Linton’s pupils constricted. Hatred and fury contorted her features. She gritted her teeth. "How do you know that bitch?!"
Seeing her reaction and hearing her words, a glint appeared in Chloe’s clear eyes. She lowered her gaze and continued to type.
"She’s tried to kill me several times but failed. She’s the one who poisoned my husband and me."
At this, Fiona Linton’s eyes widened. "You’re enemies with that bitch?!"
Chloe Reed nodded.
"HAHAHA!"
Fiona Linton burst out laughing. "This is perfect! Jasper Holloway is Vera Holloway’s older brother, and he’s a truly disgusting person. Thinks he’s above the law just because he has power and influence. Heh... Of course, on Holloway Family turf, anyone with that name is basically God."
As she spoke, she untied the rest of the ropes binding Chloe. "Since you’re enemies with that bitch, that makes us friends!"
Chloe was taken aback. ’Just like that?’
She lowered her gaze and typed, "Aren’t you going to investigate to see if I’m telling the truth?"
Fiona Linton smirked. "No need. I just have to check if your throat was damaged by poison to confirm it. Besides, you said your husband was poisoned too. You wouldn’t go so far as to poison yourself and your husband just to trick me, would you?"
A slow smile touched Chloe’s lips. She lowered her eyes and typed, "I’m not lying. Every word I’ve said is the truth. I’m an enemy of Vera Holloway, I don’t want to die, and I want revenge."
A deep hatred and resolve filled her eyes.
Fiona Linton saw this and extended her hand. "Then let’s join forces!"
In the quiet basement, Fiona Linton’s eyes sparkled, flashing with a determined light and brimming with eager anticipation.
