Chapter 718: Detestable
After Fiona Linton heard about what had happened, she was utterly incensed.
Walker Grant was having an affair with his own sister-in-law. For her sake, he was completely disregarding his own wife.
No wonder Chloe Reed was so heartbroken and wanted a divorce.
’He’s absolutely despicable!’
Walker Grant’s expression darkened. "You shouldn’t judge what you don’t understand," he said in a chilling tone. "Just do your job, Doctor Linton. I am a paying customer."
Fiona Linton scoffed, "You think I give a damn about your stinking money?"
Chloe Reed quickly pulled her back to stop them from fighting.
She shook her head at Fiona Linton, then took out her phone to type. A cold, electronic female voice rang out, "Let’s begin."
Fiona Linton took a few deep breaths before saying, "Chloe, you have so much patience. If it were me, I’d have killed that cheating pair!"
Then, she leaned in closer. "If you can’t do it here, just ship them overseas and make sure they never come back. That way you won’t have to look at them and get annoyed."
Chloe Reed’s lips curved into a smile. She could truly feel Fiona Linton’s concern for her and her anger over the situation.
She didn’t want to think about it anymore.
She lay down on the sofa and closed her eyes.
Fiona Linton looked at Walker Grant. "What are you standing there gaping for? Get on the bed!"
Walker Grant was speechless.
A frosty chill radiated from him, and it felt as if the temperature in the bedroom had dropped a few degrees.
Fiona Linton felt a sudden, inexplicable chill and instinctively glanced at the air conditioner.
It was already winter. ’Why would the AC be set to cool?’
’So, where was that cold air coming from?’
She went to wash her hands, disinfected the acupuncture points on their bodies, and then began inserting the needles.
She checked their pulses again and, finding the toxin had lessened, began adjusting the prescription and dosage, hoping to cure them more quickly.
The bedroom fell silent.
A short while later, there was a soft knock on the door.
"Who is it?"
Fiona Linton asked as she walked over to open the door. Standing at the entrance was an old woman, her wrinkled face etched with a kind smile.
"Good evening, Doctor Linton."
Fiona Linton hurried forward to support her. "Good evening, Grandma! Are you here to see Chloe?"
"Yes, I came to see how they’re doing." The old woman nodded and entered the bedroom, where she saw them in the middle of their acupuncture session.
Chloe Reed opened her eyes. She blinked her clear eyes, and her beautiful lips curved into an arc.
The old woman looked at Walker Grant first and asked, "Walker, are you feeling anything right now?"
Walker Grant replied, "The areas where the needles are feel warm, and my eyes are very comfortable."
His eyes hadn’t hurt at all since Fiona Linton began the acupuncture treatments.
’That was the only reason he tolerated her.’
’She was indeed quite skilled.’
The old woman nodded. "That’s good. It means you’re recovering. I never thought Doctor Linton would be so young and yet so skilled."
A little embarrassed by the praise, Fiona Linton rubbed her nose and said, "I’m just trying my best, honestly. I’ve never encountered a case like this before. If I manage to cure them, they’ll be my walking advertisements! I’ll be even more famous than I am now!"
"I’m sure you will,"
the old woman said with a smiling nod. She really liked Fiona Linton’s lively and cheerful personality.
Then, she walked over to Chloe Reed’s side, sat down, and took her hand. She didn’t say a word, simply looking at Chloe with a gentle gaze.
