Chapter 723: No Wonder Your Wife Doesn’t Want You
Chloe Reed’s eyes widened at the news, and she urgently grabbed Walker Grant’s arm.
Walker Grant clasped her hand in his and asked Claire Monroe in a composed tone, "Which country did he go to?"
"Island B."
Claire Monroe took a deep breath and asked, "Did he find a trace of Iris? Is he going to look for her?"
The answer was all but certain.
The only thing that could make Nathaniel Monroe act so irrationally was Iris.
He had left without a word to anyone.
Walker Grant’s tone grew grave. "I’ll send people to intercept him and bring him back."
Claire Monroe replied gravely, "I’m counting on you. Nothing can happen to him."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Walker Grant turned to Chloe Reed and said, "Call Dylan Finch."
Chloe Reed found Dylan Finch’s contact info and made the call. It rang three times before connecting. "Hello, Mr. Grant."
Walker Grant said gravely, "Nathaniel Monroe has gone to Island B. Contact Lucas Shaw. Use whatever means necessary to stop him."
Dylan Finch froze for a second, then quickly grasped the gravity of the situation. "Right. I’m on it."
The call ended, and a slight frown creased Walker Grant’s brow. "So reckless."
’Nathaniel only just recovered. He can’t even beat Daniel Hayes. How could he dare go looking for Iris all by himself?’
Just then, a cold, electronic female voice spoke up. "He has a clear objective. Does that mean he knows where Iris is?"
Even through the electronic voice, Walker Grant could sense her urgency.
He said, "You showed him those photos before, didn’t you? He must have spotted a clue in them."
Chloe Reed’s expression was exceptionally grave.
’She was worried sick about Iris, but she also didn’t want Nathaniel to go charging after her so recklessly. William Quinn was a madman. If Nathaniel barged into his territory, there was no telling what would happen to him.’
Fiona Linton asked, "Has Nathaniel Monroe gone to find his wife?"
"Yes."
Admiration glinted in Fiona Linton’s eyes. "He seems so devil-may-care. I never would have thought he loved his wife that much."
Then, she glanced at Walker Grant and tutted. "No comparison. It’s infuriating to even try."
Walker Grant was left speechless.
The situation with Nathaniel Monroe cast a tense pall over the living room.
Dylan Finch arrived at Jardinelle shortly after. He and Walker went straight into the study to discuss business.
But they all knew there were some conversations they weren’t meant to overhear.
「In the study.」
Dylan Finch lowered his voice. "Mr. Grant, I’ve already contacted Mr. Shaw, but he was noncommittal about going to find him."
Lucas Shaw had a capricious nature, which made things difficult.
Walker Grant said gravely, "Get him on the phone. I’ll speak with him."
"Yes, sir."
Dylan Finch dialed Lucas Shaw’s number.
After three rings, the call connected, and a lazy, drawling voice came through. "What’s up? Do you have any idea what time it is over here?"
Walker Grant’s tone was icy. "Are you planning to die out there all alone?"
Lucas Shaw chuckled, his voice slow and unhurried. "What’s with you? So hostile right off the bat. Can your wife even stand you when you’re like this?"
Walker Grant’s voice was low and serious. "Nathaniel Monroe is on Island B. Find him. Bring him back."
"Ha..." Lucas Shaw just laughed nonchalantly. "He’s a grown man. He can take responsibility for his own choices. Why are you getting so worked up about it? Have you even sorted out your own messes yet?"
