Chapter 700: She Crippled Her Own Son
Inside the hospital room.
When Chloe Reed walked in, Fiona Linton was removing the needles from Walker Grant.
Judith Pierce sat to one side, watching with a worried frown.
Hearing footsteps, Walker Grant’s eyelids twitched slightly. He spoke, "Chloe."
"Mm."
Chloe Reed responded, then sat in a nearby chair.
Fiona Linton asked, "Chloe, dear, where did you go?"
Chloe Reed typed, "I went out for some fresh air."
Fiona Linton wrinkled her nose and said, "You definitely should get some fresh air. Being cooped up in the hospital all day is enough to drive anyone crazy."
"All done!"
After pulling out the last needle, she took out a medicated patch. "Put this on his eyes. Change it every three hours. Let’s see how it works first."
Judith Pierce reached out and took it. "Alright."
Fiona Linton blinked and asked, "Aunt Jensen, are you staying the night?"
"Yes, I’m staying to take care of Walker."
"No need."
But Walker Grant spoke up and refused her. "I don’t have people stay the night."
Then, he turned in Chloe Reed’s direction, his tone softening a little. "Did you hear what Doctor Linton said?"
Fiona Linton: "..."
She rolled her eyes.
’No one stays the night...’
’He means no one *except* Chloe Reed, right?’
Judith Pierce’s expression stiffened. She gave Chloe Reed a complicated look, then handed her the medicine, saying, "In that case, you take good care of Walker."
"She takes very good care of me," Walker Grant said again.
Judith Pierce gave him an expressionless glance, knowing he was eager to protect his wife.
Just then, Daniel Hayes burst in, saying, "Walker Grant, that uh... Sunny Reed is about to lose her mind! Are we really just going to ignore her?"
Walker Grant’s brow furrowed.
Fiona Linton asked, confused, "Who’s that?"
Chloe Reed’s face turned cold. She looked at Daniel Hayes and typed, "Don’t let her die."
A look of confusion also appeared on Judith Pierce’s face. "Who is Sunny Reed?"
The name sounded familiar, but she couldn’t place it at the moment.
Daniel Hayes scratched his head. Being rather dense, he completely failed to read the situation and said bluntly, "It’s Sunny Reed."
"What!"
Judith Pierce’s eyes widened slightly. "Sunny Reed is here too? What happened to her?"
Walker Grant said, "Mom, just stay out of this."
But then, a cold, electronic female voice rang out, "It was the powder Sunny Reed brought that poisoned both me and Walker Grant."
Judith Pierce’s expression changed abruptly. She looked to Walker Grant, urgently seeking confirmation. "Walker, is this true?"
"Could it be fake?" Daniel Hayes chimed in. "One of them is blind, the other is mute. The facts are right in front of you, is there even a need to ask? I was there. That woman was like a lunatic, trying to drag everyone down with her without a care in the world. Good thing the wind was blowing the wrong way, otherwise..."
Judith Pierce’s body swayed. She quickly grabbed the nearby table to steady herself.
She had never imagined that the reason Walker Grant was blind was actually Sunny Reed!
Daniel Hayes added, "That woman has done even more vicious things. She poisoned her own son just to stay with the Grant family. Now that kid of yours is crippled and can’t even stand up anymore."
BOOM!
Like a bolt from the blue, Judith Pierce’s face instantly turned deathly pale, and her breathing became labored.
"Aunt Jensen!"
Seeing this, Fiona Linton rushed over to give her first aid.
