"But I want to spend a little more time with you."

Walker Grant squeezed her hand again, turning to face her, his voice softening with affection.

Chloe Reed’s elegant brows furrowed. She pulled her hand away, took out her phone, and typed. A cold, electronic female voice sounded out, "Getting your eyes checked is the most important thing."

"I know."

Walker Grant lowered his head slightly and muttered sullenly, "Chloe, you’re so mean."

Chloe Reed: "?"

She looked at him in disbelief.

’Mean?’

’How was I mean?’

’He was being completely unreasonable!’

Chloe Reed continued to type. "Walker Grant, you don’t have a fever, do you? When was I mean to you?"

Even though the voice was toneless, Walker Grant could just imagine the annoyed and speechless expression on her face.

His lips curved into a slight smile before he spoke. "You’re not even writing on my palm anymore. If that isn’t mean, what is?"

Chloe Reed: "..."

’I’m wasting my breath on him!’

She turned and walked toward the door, intending to call Fiona Linton back in.

But as the door opened, she saw Fiona Linton standing not far away, blinking her wide, doe-like eyes, an innocent expression on her face.

Chloe Reed: "..."

For some reason, she felt her face flush. She cleared her throat before gesturing for Fiona to enter the room.

Fiona Linton walked over and asked in surprise, "You two were only lovey-dovey for a little while?"

Chloe Reed: "..."

Fiona, however, didn’t seem to notice her friend’s awkwardness and continued, "I thought you two would be at it for a while longer. I was even planning to watch a movie."

Chloe Reed: "..."

’Okay.’

’That’s enough.’

’Don’t say another word!’

’Besides, she’s definitely got the wrong idea!’

’My relationship with Walker Grant isn’t that deep, and there’s nothing to be lovey-dovey about.’

"Hello there."

As she entered the room, Fiona Linton greeted him directly. "My name is Fiona Linton. You can call me Doctor Linton, just like everyone else."

Walker Grant reverted to his cold and distant demeanor. "Hello."

Fiona Linton clicked her tongue. "So cold and aloof. Come on, let me see what’s going on with your eyes."

As she spoke, she reached out to remove the gauze from his face.

But Walker Grant pulled away from her touch. "Where are the other doctors?"

"Oh-ho, don’t trust me, huh?" Fiona Linton scoffed. "Chloe trusts me, but you don’t?"

Walker Grant tilted his head slightly. "Chloe?"

Chloe Reed grabbed his hand and wrote in his palm.

"She gave me one acupuncture treatment, and I coughed up black blood, which got rid of some of the toxins."

Walker Grant raised an eyebrow, then closed his palm, cupping her hand inside his. "Then how are you feeling now? Do you still feel unwell?"

"What do you think I am, a miracle worker?" Fiona Linton said from the side. "These things take time, you know. It’s actually quite impressive that she’s already showing results this quickly. I will definitely get her voice back to normal."

A hint of pride crept into her voice, born from the absolute confidence she had in her medical skills.

Walker Grant spoke up. "I just didn’t expect Doctor Linton to be so young."

’She sounds like she might not even be as old as my Chloe.’

’Can a doctor this young really be any good?’

Fiona Linton huffed. "Don’t believe me? Fine, suit yourself."

With that, she turned as if to walk away.

Chloe Reed quickly grabbed her arm, her eyes filled with a pleading look.

’Please don’t go.’

Fiona was a complete sucker for that kind of look. "Oh, alright, alright," she sighed. "I won’t stoop to your level."

She walked over and once again began to unwrap the gauze on Walker Grant’s face. This time, he didn’t pull away.
