The video continued playing.

Tiana threw her third Poké Ball.

"I’m counting on you, Garchomp!"

Garchomp landed on the battlefield. The Sandstorm was still raging, grains of sand striking its scales with a constant rustling sound.

"Garchomp, use Dragon Claw!"

Seeing that her mother had no intention of attacking first, Tiana once again seized the initiative.

Emerald Dragon-type energy surrounded Garchomp’s right claw. A dark-blue afterimage flashed across the battlefield as it charged directly toward Milotic.

"Hydro Pump," Cynthia finally commanded.

Milotic raised its head and unleashed a thick column of water from its throat, meeting Garchomp’s Dragon Claw head-on.

Hydro Pump carried tremendous force. Garchomp’s claw cleaved into the column, sending water spraying everywhere, but the attack’s momentum was completely neutralized. Garchomp was pushed half a step backward.

"Dragon Tail!" Tiana immediately changed tactics.

Using the momentum from Hydro Pump to turn its body, Garchomp swept its tail toward Milotic’s side, emerald Dragon-type energy wrapped around it.

"Aqua Tail!" Cynthia issued another command.

Milotic shifted sideways to avoid the attack while simultaneously swinging its tail fin into Garchomp’s shoulder.

Water erupted from the impact, and Garchomp was knocked two steps backward.

Tiana clenched her fist.

"Use Dragon Tail again!"

Her reasoning was clear. Milotic wanted to drag the battle into a war of attrition, so she would use Dragon Tail to force it out.

Dragon Tail had the additional effect of forcing the opposing Pokémon to switch. As long as it connected, Milotic would be returned to its Poké Ball regardless of how much stamina it had remaining.

Emerald Dragon-type energy once again surrounded Garchomp’s tail as it swept outward.

This time, they were too close for Milotic to evade.

Dragon Tail struck the base of its tail fin with a dull impact.

The move’s forced-switching effect activated. Milotic transformed into red light and was pulled back into Cynthia’s Poké Ball.

Another burst of red light appeared on the field.

Togekiss spread its pure-white wings and circled through the air.

Tiana had successfully forced Milotic out, but the price was that Garchomp now had to face a Fairy-type Pokémon that completely countered it.

However, the Sandstorm was still raging. Togekiss would take damage from it at the end of every turn, so Tiana wasn’t entirely without a chance.

"Garchomp, use Stone Edge!"

The moment Tiana spoke, more than a dozen sharp stone pillars erupted from directly beneath Togekiss.

"Togekiss, use Dazzling Gleam."

Cynthia’s voice remained calm and unhurried.

The stone pillars had barely emerged when a brilliant pink light shattered them into fragments, which clattered back onto the battlefield.

"Togekiss, use Fairy Wind."

Cynthia’s next command immediately followed.

Togekiss beat its wings, sending pink energy spreading from their tips like ripples toward Garchomp.

Garchomp’s offensive rhythm was disrupted, and its movements suddenly became considerably slower.

"Garchomp, use Brick Break!"

Enduring the discomfort, Garchomp surrounded its right claw with white light and charged toward Togekiss.

However, it was moving far more slowly than before. Togekiss avoided the attack with only a gentle shift to the side.

This wouldn’t work.

At this rate, Garchomp would be worn down until it collapsed.

"Come back, Garchomp!"

Red light flashed, and Garchomp returned to its Poké Ball.

"Salamence, I’m counting on you!"

Salamence spread its blood-red wings and released a deafening roar.

At the same moment, the Sandstorm subsided.

"Flamethrower!"

A scorching pillar of fire erupted from Salamence’s throat and surged toward Togekiss.

"Protect."

A pale-green barrier formed in front of Togekiss.

The flames struck the barrier and exploded into orange-red sparks, but the shield did not move in the slightest.

Tiana clenched her fist.

"Salamence, use Dragon Dance!"

Salamence twisted through the air, its blood-red wings tracing smooth arcs as it danced.

"Togekiss, use Thunder Wave," Cynthia commanded.

It has that move too? I can’t let her keep controlling the battle like this!

"Giga Impact!"

Tiana raised her hand.

Salamence beat its wings and soared upward, brilliant white light erupting around its entire body as it charged down toward Togekiss.

"Protect."

Cynthia’s tone remained steady.

A pale-green barrier unfolded before Togekiss.

Giga Impact slammed into the barrier, producing a ring-shaped shock wave. The shield shook violently but did not break.

"Now, use Air Slash!"

Cynthia precisely seized the brief moment when Salamence was left unable to move after Giga Impact.

Togekiss beat its wings several times, launching three blades of compressed air that struck Salamence squarely in the chest.

The attacks knocked Salamence half a body length backward, drawing a deep growl from its throat.

Tiana did not panic.

"Stone Edge!"

Salamence reacted instantly.

Countless sharp stone pillars erupted from beneath Togekiss. This time, Togekiss failed to evade and was struck directly.

Togekiss plummeted straight to the ground and lost consciousness.

The referee raised his flag.

"Togekiss is unable to battle!"

This time, Cynthia didn’t wait. She attacked first.

Milotic raised its head and launched a thick column of water toward Salamence in the air.

"Salamence, dodge it!" Tiana immediately commanded.

Salamence beat its wings and twisted to the side. The water narrowly passed the edge of its wing.

However, Milotic’s assault did not stop.

A second and then a third Hydro Pump followed in rapid succession, with almost no interval between them.

"Ice Beam!" Cynthia pressed the attack.

Salamence twisted repeatedly through the air. It had only just avoided Hydro Pump when Ice Beam sealed off its escape route.

The column of water struck Salamence directly in the chest and knocked it out of the sky.

Salamence crashed heavily onto the battlefield.

It struggled to rise again, but ultimately collapsed with a tremendous thud, spirals replacing its eyes.

The referee raised his flag.

"Salamence is unable to battle!"

Tiana recalled Salamence and took a deep breath before throwing Garchomp’s Poké Ball again.

"Garchomp, I’m counting on you."

Garchomp landed on the field.

Its previous battles had consumed a great deal of its stamina, and its movements were still somewhat stiff.

"Garchomp, use Dragon Dance!"

Tiana moved first.

Garchomp began dancing to a strange and ancient rhythm.

"Milotic, use Hydro Pump."

Cynthia gave her no time to accumulate enhancements.

Milotic raised its head and fired a thick column of water directly toward Garchomp.

Garchomp twisted sideways in the middle of its dance, and the water narrowly passed its shoulder.

"Use Dragon Dance again!"

Tiana knew she was walking a tightrope.

Dragon Dance would continue increasing Garchomp’s strength and speed, but Milotic could defeat it at any moment.

Fortunately, luck remained on Tiana’s side.

After completing three Dragon Dances, Garchomp’s Attack and Speed had increased dramatically. The muscles across its body swelled slightly, while a ring of fine, web-like cracks spread across the ground beneath its feet.

Cynthia’s expression did not change.

"Hydro Pump."

"Cut through it with Dragon Claw!"

Emerald Dragon-type energy surrounded Garchomp’s right claw.

With a single swing, it split the incoming column of water in half.

Water sprayed across both sides of the battlefield—but Garchomp was no longer standing where it had been.

"Dragon Claw!"

Garchomp appeared beside Milotic and slashed its flank.

Milotic released a cry of pain as the attack sent its body sliding several meters sideways.

"Excellent!"

Tiana’s eyes lit up as she finally glimpsed a chance of victory.

"Recover."

Cynthia’s voice remained calm.

Soft blue light surrounded Milotic, and the wounds across its body began healing at a visible rate.

Tiana took a deep breath.

Recover had restored a considerable amount of Milotic’s stamina. If this continued, Garchomp would inevitably be the first to fall.

In that case, she might as well risk everything on one final attack.

"Garchomp, use Dragon Rush!"

Garchomp raised its head and roared.

Deep-blue Dragon-type energy spread from its chest across its entire body as it charged directly toward Milotic.

"Milotic, use Hydro Pump!"

For the first time, a trace of urgency entered Cynthia’s voice.

The two powerful attacks collided, producing a violent explosion.

When the smoke dispersed, both Garchomp and Milotic lay unconscious on the battlefield.

The referee raised his flag.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle!"
