The video continued playing.

Tiana sat on Salamence’s back and glanced over her shoulder at the blue-and-pink vortex still rotating above the mountain’s summit.

"Salamence, let’s go."

Salamence released a low growl, spread its blood-red wings, and flew down the mountain.

Tiana lay against Salamence’s back with her chin resting on her arms.

"Daddy is trying to act tough again," she muttered.

"He said I can only enter when the time is right."

Tiana rolled over and lay on her back atop Salamence.

"Then I’ll become as strong as Daddy. That way, I’ll be able to help him."

"All right, I won’t challenge another Gym yet."

She lightly patted her cheeks.

"I need to expand my team first."

Tiana took out her Pokédex and opened the electronic map.

"Our next stop will be Oreburgh City."

"Roooar~" (Haven’t we already challenged that Gym?)

"We aren’t going there to challenge the Gym," Tiana explained. "There’s an abandoned deep mine shaft near the Oreburgh Mining Museum. Apparently, a colony of Onix lives there. We’re going to catch one!"

The scene changed.

Tiana had already arrived at the entrance of the Oreburgh Mining Museum.

The building appeared even grander than the Gym, with an enormous stone statue of Armaldo standing outside the entrance.

A young museum employee wearing round-framed glasses politely approached when he saw Tiana enter.

"Hello. How may I help you?"

"I want to enter the mine."

Tiana handed him her Trainer identification.

"I heard the museum has an abandoned deep mine shaft that people can enter for research. Is that true?"

The employee lowered his head and examined the information on her identification.

His polite smile immediately became respectful.

"Miss Tiana, please wait here. I’ll notify the museum director."

The employee soon returned with the director.

The museum director was an elderly man with graying hair. The instant he saw Tiana, his eyes lit up, and he hurried toward her at a speed entirely unbefitting a man in his seventies.

"Miss Tiana! I’ve heard so much about you!"

Tiana tilted her head.

"Do you know me, Grandpa?"

"Of course I do!"

The director excitedly grasped Tiana’s hand and shook it up and down.

"Professor Carolina is the honorary president of our Historical Research Association! The ancient stone tablet she discovered is still being displayed in our museum’s special exhibition hall!"

Tiana’s entire body shook along with his enthusiastic handshake, but she still nodded politely.

"Um... Grandpa, I’d like to enter the mine. Would that be possible?"

"Of course! Free of charge! Permanently free!"

The director released her hand and pulled a key from his pocket.

"This is the access key for the deep mine shaft. It is normally open only to researchers, but we’ll make a special exception for you today!"

[Professor Carolina]: That man is the third-generation director of the Oreburgh Mining Museum. His father and grandfather were both members of the Mining History Research Association. Their family originally discovered the museum’s deep mine shaft.

[Cynthia]: Grandma, how do you know so much about it?

[Professor Carolina]: Because I funded the construction of that museum.

[Brock]: An entire family-operated industrial chain...

[Dawn]: It feels as though Tiana’s family has been secretly helping her throughout her entire journey!

[Diantha]: Secretly? They’re doing it completely openly.

The video continued playing.

The museum director personally escorted Tiana to the entrance of the mine shaft.

He pushed open the iron gate, removed a mining lamp from a nearby rack, and handed it to her.

"Miss Tiana, this mine shaft has been abandoned. Although it has been reinforced, some sections of the rock remain unstable. Please make sure you stay on the main tunnel."

"Okay. Thank you, Grandpa."

Tiana accepted the mining lamp and walked deeper into the tunnel.

The inside of the mine was more spacious than she had expected.

The mining lamp’s dim light was just bright enough for her to see the path ahead. The air carried the damp scent of earth, mixed with the metallic smell of rust from the old rails.

Tiana continued forward, sweeping the beam of her lamp back and forth through the darkness.

Fragments of fossils could be seen embedded within the rock walls, along with several sampling pits that had clearly been excavated by human hands.

Tiana crouched beside a fossil in the wall and illuminated it with the mining lamp.

"I remember Daddy saying that Oreburgh City’s underground mineral veins contain some of the oldest rock layers in Sinnoh. Buried inside them are..."

Before she could finish, an unusual noise came from deeper within the tunnel.

Tiana immediately switched off the mining lamp.

The mine fell into darkness.

The silence lasted only a few seconds.

Then she heard an extremely faint rustling sound, as though something were rapidly moving across the ground.

The noise came from a side tunnel ahead of her.

It grew closer and closer—and there was clearly more than one creature approaching.

Tiana’s hand had already moved to the Poké Balls at her waist when the rustling abruptly stopped.

A dull impact followed.

Something heavy crashed into the rock wall, after which the mine briefly fell silent again.

An Onix suddenly flew backward out of the side tunnel and slammed into the wall.

It fell to the ground, rolled its eyes twice, and stopped moving.

Tiana blinked.

Had something inside the tunnel sent an Onix flying?

The next instant, a deep roar emerged from the side tunnel.

The sound repeatedly echoed and overlapped throughout the mine, causing the ground beneath Tiana’s feet to tremble faintly.

An enormous figure slowly emerged from the darkness.

It was a Tyranitar.

More importantly, its coloration was different from that of an ordinary Tyranitar.

A normal Tyranitar had grayish-green scales, but this Tyranitar’s scales were pale yellow, with a faint golden sheen around their edges.

A Shiny Tyranitar.

[Roark]: There’s actually a Shiny Tyranitar inside an Oreburgh City mine?! I once lived in the mines for more than half a month and never saw one!

The video continued playing.

Tyranitar emerged from the depths of the tunnel.

It lowered its head and looked at the Onix lying unconscious beside the wall before turning toward Tiana.

Tiana took a deep breath, raised one hand, and gave it a perfectly bright smile.

"Hello!"

Just then, the faint sound of hurried footsteps came from deeper within the mine.

A flashlight beam swept around the corner, followed by a rough, hoarse voice.

"Quickly! Keep up! It’s just ahead! That Tyranitar is right in front of us!"

Four men wearing matching dark-green uniforms soon rushed around the corner.

They carried capture nets and tranquilizer guns.

Their bald leader cursed as he ran.

"You three are useless! That Tyranitar is a top-quality specimen! If it escapes, who knows when we’ll get another opportunity to catch it!"

The three men behind him struggled to keep up.

One was a tall, thin man carrying a capture-net launcher.

"Boss, what caused that noise just now?"

"Who cares? That Tyranitar was probably hunting for food again!"

The bald man jumped backward and raised his tranquilizer gun.

"Quickly! Use the capture net first, then hit it with the tranquilizer darts!"
