Chapter 422 - 420: I Pinned the Demon God Himself Against the Wall
’The beautiful scenery shouldn’t be the focus right now.’
The point was that she had somehow traveled fifteen thousand years into the past. How was she going to get back? The realization left Celeste Grant dumbfounded. Of course, she was thrilled to see Javier Sinclair from the Demon Realm here, but she had to return. The future was her home, after all.
"So... how do I get back?"
Remembering that she had touched the Ancient Mirror just before she was whisked away, she looked up at Javier Sinclair and couldn’t resist asking, "Javier Sinclair, so your Mysterious Ancient Mirror can travel through time."
Hearing this, Javier Sinclair glanced at her. "It can, yes. However, you didn’t arrive here using the Ancient Mirror’s power. You crossed through time on your own."
Celeste Grant pointed to herself. "You’re saying I came here on my own? That’s impossible! I clearly remember my finger touching the Ancient Mirror, then my body felt weightless, and the next thing I knew, I was here."
He glanced at her. "You did come here on your own. Would I be mistaken?" That was precisely why he found it so strange. ’She doesn’t seem like an ordinary Human cultivator,’ he mused. ’The instant she appeared, I sensed a familiar power—one that an ordinary cultivator could never possess.’
Celeste Grant waved her hand dismissively.
"Never mind how I got here. Just tell me how to get back!"
Javier Sinclair said calmly, "If you were able to come, you’ll be able to go back."
Hearing this, Celeste Grant breathed a sigh of relief. "You scared me to death. As long as I can go back, that’s all that matters. Even though you’re here, I still prefer the future, with our family all together."
Javier Sinclair said nothing.
He turned away. "Then you should leave quickly."
’Why does he sound so unhappy?’
’Is he jealous?’
Realizing his tone might be one of jealousy, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but laugh. She walked up and took his hand.
"Oh my! Lord Demon God, do you smell something?"
Javier Sinclair glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. "What smell?"
’I don’t smell anything strange.’
’Is it the Demonic Qi?’
’She’s a cultivator, so it would be normal for her to dislike Demonic Qi.’
Before he could speak, Celeste Grant leaned in beside him and said with a laugh, "You don’t smell it? It’s so sour! It seems my dear Demon God husband knocked over a whole vat of vinegar."
’A vat of vinegar?’
The moment she finished speaking, Javier Sinclair stopped dead in his tracks, his stoic expression cracking. Once he processed what she had just said, his face turned bright red.
"What nonsense are you spouting, woman!"
"I am the Demon God. How could I possibly feel such an emotion?"
Seeing his flustered "It wasn’t me, I’m not" expression, Celeste Grant linked her arm through his and laughed. She nodded. "Right, right, you didn’t. It wasn’t you, I can vouch for that." At this point, she couldn’t hold back her laughter. "Haha, my dear husband, you’re absolutely adorable."
A hand landed on her head.
He turned to face her, his expression suddenly stern. "Celeste Grant, you are provoking me."
’The Demon God looked so imposing, but he was still the same person underneath. See? Even the way he spoke was identical.’
As he finished speaking, Celeste Grant moved toward him. As she drew near, Javier Sinclair’s heart leaped into his throat, and he instinctively took two steps back. At the same instant, a transparent wall materialized behind him—one Celeste Grant had conjured with a Spell.
"Provoking? My dear Demon God, I think you might misunderstand the meaning of that word." As she spoke, she placed a hand on his chest and gave a gentle push, sending Javier Sinclair stumbling back against the wall of Spiritual Energy.
In all his long life, nothing like this had ever happened to him. He was completely frozen on the spot.
"You... What are you doing?"
His voice was deep when he spoke, but it was laced with a hint of panic. His golden eyes betrayed an urgent desire to flee. ’I’m the Demon God, and I want to run away? If word of this ever got out, would I have any dignity left?’ For the sake of his pitiful pride, he stood rooted to the spot, unmoving.
Just then, one of her hands slammed against the wall of Spiritual Energy beside his head. Though Celeste Grant only reached his chin, her presence was absolutely immense.
Celeste Grant had pinned the Demon God against the wall.
She pressed her body close to his. Under Javier Sinclair’s astonished gaze, she leaned in, blew a warm breath against his ear, and whispered, "Archfiend, *this* is a provocation."
Celeste Grant straightened up, her own face flushed to the tips of her ears.
"Celeste Grant, you’re shameless!"
"Mhm, that I am!"
"You’re truly outrageous."
"Mhm, that’s right."
She answered him immediately. Her other hand began to "walk" two fingers up from the back of his hand, over his shoulder, and came to a stop on his chest. "And *this* is provocation..." she murmured, raising an eyebrow at him. Through his robes, her fingers gently stroked his firm chest.
Javier Sinclair’s pupils dilated, his eyes wide with disbelief. He probably never imagined that a female cultivator would be so brazen as to openly provoke him.
"How dare you."
As he spoke, his Adam’s apple bobbed.
His face was impossibly red.
’His words are harsh, but his body is honest.’
She smiled, leaned in to press a kiss to his cheek, and then another to his neck. "And *this* is provocation, understand?"
’Hahahaha!’
Celeste Grant was laughing hysterically inside.
’I can’t believe the tables have turned like this! If this were the Archfiend from the future, he wouldn’t be standing here taking my teasing. He would’ve flipped the script long ago, pinned me to the wall, and gotten his revenge.’
A hand gripped her shoulder. Celeste Grant found herself looking into a pair of deep, golden eyes. She heard him say, "Are you having fun? Do you have any idea what happens to those who dare to provoke me?"
Anyone else might have been intimidated by his expression, but not Celeste Grant. She simply wrapped her arms around his neck. "Javier Sinclair, since I’ve run into your past self, I have to leave my mark. That way, you’ll be mine from now on."
"You..."
Before he could get another word out,
Celeste Grant rose onto her tiptoes and kissed him.
Her lips met his.
It was a gentle kiss.
She pulled back and said, "Remember, you have to stay faithful to me. No picking wildflowers on the side. If you don’t, your future self had better watch out."
"Your lips are very kissable, Archfiend."
’I wanted to say a little more, but...?’
"Huh...? Am I going back?"
Celeste Grant watched as her hands began to fade. An instant later, her entire figure vanished from before him.
Her scent seemed to linger in the air.
But she was well and truly gone.
Gone to another time.
A time fifteen thousand years into his distant future.
Javier Sinclair remained where he was. The wall of Spiritual Energy behind him had already dissipated, but he stood frozen, unmoving.
Javier Sinclair’s face was impossibly red.
The heart of the Demon God was pounding furiously.
He raised a hand to his chest.
’So, was this the moment he fell for her?’
