Chapter 421 - 419: Meeting in Person and Getting a Hug

Hearing this, he spoke. "Do you think I need that?"

"You do, you do..." Celeste Grant said with a faint smile. "It’s just that I can’t get to you. Otherwise, I’d want to hug you right now."

I want to hug you right now.

On the other side of the Ancient Mirror, those words went straight to Javier Sinclair’s ears. He’d never heard such sweet nothings between a man and a woman before. He turned his head away, face flushing red, and couldn’t help but blurt out, "Shut up!" ’This woman is simply shameless.’

Celeste Grant chuckled and said in a low voice, "See? You’re getting shy again. I’m all talk and no action. If I actually *did* something, you’d probably... Huh...?" She trailed off. As her finger had unintentionally brushed against the mirror’s surface, she felt as if it could pass right through the Ancient Mirror in her hand.

"What’s going on?"

’I must be hallucinating,’ she thought, stunned. She reached out and touched the mirror’s surface again. Just then, she felt the ground disappear from under her. In a flash of weightlessness, she passed straight through the Barrier in front of her.

By the time she realized what was happening, she saw the figure of Javier Sinclair. She had appeared directly above him and was now falling straight toward him.

She reached out her hands.

"AHH... Javier Sinclair!"

Javier Sinclair, who was standing there, looked up slightly in her direction.

His eyes were wide with astonishment.

Javier Sinclair himself had probably never expected her to suddenly materialize before him. By the time he reacted, he had already shot out a hand. The moment she appeared and started falling toward him, he caught her wrist, pulled her into his embrace, and wrapped his arms around her waist.

At that moment, Celeste Grant’s arms had already instinctively wrapped around his neck, and she was left clinging to Javier Sinclair as he held her.

He held her close. His familiar scent, his firm chest, the reassuring warmth of his embrace... And his face, so close to hers. His long hair was draped casually over his shoulders. He had pale skin, phoenix eyes, a high-bridged nose, and slender brows. Golden runes swirled in his eyes, like a river of countless stars, and within them, her own astonished reflection stared back.

She reached out one hand, gently touching his hair, then his face. In disbelief, she called his name. "Javier Sinclair... you’re actually real."

His eyes stared at her, and then she heard him sneer. Celeste Grant heard him say, "So in your eyes, I’m not real."

"A slip of the tongue! A slip of the tongue!" She cupped his face in her hands and studied it closely.

’This is his appearance as the Demon God himself.’

She patted his shoulder. ’It’s too real.’

’I’m definitely not dreaming.’

She glanced around her. "Where in the world am I?" she muttered. Her eyes darted back to his face. "Never mind, that’s not important." As she spoke, she cupped his face again, and after studying it closely, she couldn’t help but say, "I can actually touch you. You’re really real."

He raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Heh."

He set her down on her feet.

The fact that he could physically touch this woman made even Javier Sinclair frown. ’What in the world is going on? How did this woman cross through time to appear directly before me?’

He sized her up. He was certain she was just an ordinary Cultivator from Humanity. ’But can an ordinary Cultivator instantly cross through time?’

Celeste Grant, of course, had no idea what he was thinking. She was just thrilled to see him. As soon as her feet touched the ground, she grabbed his arm and began to size him up.

"So you’re the Demon God? Javier Sinclair, you look completely different like this." She remembered back in the Cultivation World, whenever Javier Sinclair unleashed his Divine Power, he had looked exactly like this. So, seeing him now, Celeste Grant didn’t feel like he was a stranger at all.

Seeing her lean in so close, the Demon God, who was used to a life of solitude, instinctively took a step back. Perhaps he wasn’t accustomed to having a woman this near to him; he could clearly sense her presence and even smell the faint, sweet scent on her. The tips of Javier Sinclair’s ears flushed slightly red.

He grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her back a little. "Stand back and speak from a distance. Don’t get so close to me."

’The Demon God from the past.’

’He’s still my husband.’

’If I don’t get to hug my own husband, who will? It would be a waste.’ So, Celeste Grant hugged him with a perfectly clear conscience.

She grabbed the fabric at his waist and pulled him closer. "Old Fiend Sinclair, what are you hiding from? Even if you’re the Demon God, I’m still your wife."

He knew what she meant by "wife," but he couldn’t help retorting, "That’s in the future. The future and the present are not the same thing."

The moment he finished speaking, Celeste Grant grabbed Javier Sinclair by the arm and stepped closer herself.

Before he could back away again.

She wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Husband, I’m so happy to see you."

Her voice was soft and gentle.

Though her arms around his waist had little strength, Javier Sinclair felt a strange, inescapable sense of destiny, as if he was willingly letting her hold him.

He stood frozen, looking down at the woman in his arms with a dazed expression.

"Aren’t you going to let go?" he said, an uncomfortable look on his face. He subconsciously raised his hands to pry her off him. But she just hugged him tighter and said, "Be careful! I’m pregnant!"

As she said this,

Javier Sinclair lowered his raised hands. He stood rooted to the spot, letting her hold him.

Seeing how flustered he was, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but laugh.

Meeting her gaze, Javier Sinclair felt his face heat up for some reason, but he kept his tone cool. "You are truly a shameless woman, hugging a man so casually."

Leaning against his chest, Celeste Grant looked up at him and smiled. "Who said I was being casual? Don’t you dare accuse me wrongly." She looked at him and added, "In my entire life, I’ve only ever hugged one man, and his name is Javier Sinclair."

’She’s only ever hugged him.’

For some reason, a flicker of pleasure sparked in Javier Sinclair’s heart.

He said, "Let go already."

"No."

She kept her arms around his waist.

"We’re Taoist Companions. It’s perfectly natural for me to hug you."

He couldn’t stop himself from blushing.

"That’s in the future."

"I know! But that’s still you."

At this, Celeste Grant finally pulled back from his embrace. She looked around, her face filled with confusion. "What happened to me? How did I end up here with you?" She thought of the mirror she’d been holding and raised her hand, only to find the Mysterious Ancient Mirror was gone. "Huh? Where’s the Ancient Mirror?"

Javier Sinclair glanced at her. "Two Ancient Mirrors cannot exist at the same point in time."

"Oh, right! I guess that whole ’pregnancy brain’ thing is real after all."

’Thinking about how I just suddenly appeared...’

’If this were in a TV show...’

’...it would definitely be an iconic scene.’

’I don’t even have to think about it.’

’It would have been incredibly romantic.’
