Chapter 398 - 396: A Desperate Beginning
Seeing that her son would be busy for a while, Celeste Grant, who was cracking sunflower seeds, spoke up. "Take your time with him, sweetie. We’ll go wait for you outside."
Aaron Sinclair turned and made a heart gesture for his mother. "Got it, Mom. You guys go wait for me outside."
After Javier Sinclair and Celeste Grant left the ice cave, Aaron Sinclair continued to deal with the Evil Cultivator. ’He dared to have designs on me. Now that he’s in my hands, I’ll make him wish for death but be unable to find it.’
At that moment, the Evil Cultivator’s Primordial Spirit was only the size of a palm, held in Aaron Sinclair’s grasp. He pinched a chopstick-long Soul Destruction Needle in his hand, its tip radiating a sinister, cold energy as he plunged it straight into the other’s Primordial Spirit.
One needle after another.
Aaron Sinclair precisely controlled his strength with every thrust. Each jab of the needle caused the Primordial Spirit to emit wisps of black smoke, inflicting excruciating torment on the Divine Soul without ever letting it perish.
"AHHH..."
"It hurts... Stop... Help me..."
"AHHHHHHH..."
At first, he begged for mercy.
Later, he was begging Aaron Sinclair to give him a quick end, to just let him die.
"Please... kill me!"
"Kill me..."
’Even having my Divine Soul obliterated would only be a moment’s pain.’
’This kid is so vengeful.’
’This kid pinned my Primordial Spirit to the ice wall, playing with his needles and using me as a target for his Magic practice. A whole day and night of this... it’s been utter despair. Not only is my Divine Soul suffering excruciating torment, but I also have to endure his verbal and mental attacks.’
"Just kill me."
"Kill me."
"Sob... I was wrong, I was wrong."
The Evil Cultivator’s Primordial Spirit had long lost its initial arrogance. Now, his Primordial Spirit was weak, and he would instinctively tremble whenever Aaron Sinclair approached. In his eyes, Aaron Sinclair was The Archfiend himself.
Aaron Sinclair walked up to the ice wall.
His gaze swept over the palm-sized Primordial Spirit pinned to the wall. He let out a soft chuckle and said, "You look so weak! It’s only been a day and a night, and you’ve already changed your mind about wanting to live? Heh, I have to say, I preferred you when you were all untamable and wild."
"You old dog. You actually thought you could possess me."
As he spoke, he raised his hand and slapped him.
The Primordial Spirit pinned to the ice wall was slapped so hard it saw stars. Its Primordial Spirit was immobilized, unable to resist, completely at Aaron’s mercy. ’If I had known this would be my fate, I would have kept a low profile after coming to the Lower Realm. But now, it’s too late for regrets.’
"Oh, you’re crying now? Seeing as you’re so pitiful, I’ll stop stabbing you for now."
As he spoke, he put away the Soul Destruction Needle. A flicker of hope sparked within the Evil Cultivator’s Primordial Spirit. He looked up at Aaron Sinclair and subconsciously asked, "You’re willing to let me go?"
Hearing this, Aaron Sinclair waggled a finger. "No, no... Don’t think so highly of me. Let you go? How could I possibly let you go? Impossible."
"Heh heh..." He gave a faint smile and casually waved his hand, casting a Magic spell on the Primordial Spirit that restored it to its normal size. By now, its soul body was already semi-transparent.
With a wave of his hand,
a Taishi Chair appeared beside him.
Aaron Sinclair waved his hand again and sat down.
He lifted one leg and crossed it over the other.
Looking at the Evil Cultivator still pinned to the ice wall, he gave a sinister laugh. "Now, let’s try out a new Magic spell I’ve developed. It’s called the Ghost Cry Wolf Howl Soul Slicing Technique."
The moment Aaron Sinclair’s voice fell, he began Sealing with his hands. A circular rune materialized from his palms, slowly floating up to envelop the Evil Cultivator’s Primordial Spirit. Simultaneously, with another wave of his hand, several Ice Blades radiating a sinister, cold energy appeared and, with a SHWISH, began to slice away at the cultivator. Instantly, the entire ice cave was filled with miserable, bloodcurdling screams.
"AHHHH..."
"No... It hurts so much..."
The Ice Blades circled around him as if they had eyes of their own, each pass precisely carving off a small piece of his Primordial Spirit. The slivers of Primordial Spirit sliced off by the Ice Blades would then dissipate into black smoke.
Seated in the Taishi Chair, Aaron Sinclair rested a hand on the armrest, tapping his fingers lightly as he said, "This scene inspires me to recite a poem."
"One slice, two slices, three and four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten more."
"A thousand, ten thousand, countless slices, gone in a flash when the Ice Blade passes."
Hearing this, the Evil Cultivator, who was in the midst of being tortured, was on the verge of a complete breakdown. He glared furiously in Aaron Sinclair’s direction, his eyes filled with hatred. ’I’m being tormented like this, and this kid has the nerve to be reciting poetry!’
Humiliation. He felt utterly humiliated.
Rage!
"You shameless brat... I’ll haunt you even as a ghost! I’ll grind your bones to dust and obliterate your Divine Soul!"
"AHHHHHH..."
Aaron Sinclair gently tapped the armrest of the Taishi Chair. Meeting the cultivator’s furious gaze, Aaron’s smile vanished, and he looked at him calmly. "Heh. Let me remind you, you’re the one currently being sliced by my Primordial Spirit Slicing Skill. So how exactly are you going to ’not let me go’? Whether you can grind my bones to dust and obliterate my Divine Soul, I have no idea. What I do know is that you will definitely be the one sliced into oblivion by me."
"No... You can’t do this to me."
Wisps of black smoke were rising from his Primordial Spirit.
That was what had been sliced away.
His hands were gone.
His feet were gone.
His body was gone.
Another night passed, and the Evil Cultivator’s voice fell silent in the ice cave. His Primordial Spirit had vanished completely from the world, leaving nothing behind.
Emerging from the underground ice cave, Aaron Sinclair stood on a tree branch. Outside, the sun was bright, and the chirping of birds filled the air.
"So warm and comfortable."
"I wonder where Mom and Dad are... Let’s see." He murmured, extending his Divine Sense over the mountain range. He quickly located his parents on a nearby peak. Wisps of smoke were rising from there; they were having a barbecue.
"Mom, Dad, having a barbecue without me?"
As he spoke, his figure vanished from the tree branch, reappearing an instant later where his parents were.
On a cliffside peak, a bamboo hut now stood. Outside, Celeste Grant and Javier Sinclair were grilling and eating. They were being affectionate, talking and laughing together. It was a temporary home they had casually set up.
"Bunnies are so cute... they need to be extra spicy... Smells delicious."
The rabbit meat sizzled as the fat dripped onto the fire.
Celeste Grant was turning the skewers back and forth. It was red-willow-skewered rabbit, and the meat was already roasted to a glistening gold. The aroma was intoxicating.
’After being in seclusion for so long, I can’t resist a delicacy like this.’
Just then, someone appeared beside them, followed by her son’s cheerful call.
"Yo, yo! Mom and Dad, you two are the real love story, and I was just an accident, right? Mom, you’re having a barbecue and you didn’t even call me."
Seeing her son appear, Celeste Grant’s eyes flickered to the space behind him before a smile spread across her face. "Heh heh, you’re just in time. It’s almost ready. We can eat in a bit."
He moved closer to Celeste Grant, his eyes landing on the rabbit meat she was roasting.
Aaron Sinclair grinned and said, "I’ve been in seclusion for so long, my mouth is about to fade to nothing. This sizzling, juicy-looking roast looks absolutely delicious. Whose mom is this, so clever and skillful that she can roast meat that smells this amazing? Oh, right. She’s mine."
Celeste Grant chuckled. "Look how greedy you are." Then, she asked casually, "Is that Evil Cultivator dead?"
"Mhm." Javier Sinclair, standing beside her, nodded slightly. "His Divine Soul has been completely annihilated."
