Chapter 353 - 351: I Have Found You
From the moment he appeared, he exuded the aura of a villain. He possessed the imposing presence of a great antagonist; he clearly wasn’t a good person.
A terrifying pressure made one’s legs feel weak. But in an instant, he retracted his aura, for his gaze had locked onto Celeste Grant.
"I have found you."
A deep voice slowly echoed, falling gently into Celeste Grant’s ears.
Hearing that voice and seeing the figure that had appeared in the sky, Celeste Grant froze where she stood.
It was him.
He was here!
"Javier Sinclair."
Celeste Grant called his name.
Her voice was choked with emotion.
More than half a year had passed since they had last parted.
At that moment, the image of Javier Sinclair’s body disintegrating, his figure vanishing before her very eyes, flashed through Celeste Grant’s mind.
Her eyes stung, but that was overshadowed by the joy of seeing him.
Feeling a warmth on her cheeks, she reached up to touch them.
She was surprised to find that she was crying.
The moment she saw him, Celeste Grant could finally no longer hold back and flew toward him. Her figure vanished in the blink of an eye, and in the next instant, she was in the sky, throwing herself into his arms.
"Javier Sinclair."
Celeste Grant called his name again.
Javier Sinclair’s arms were still outstretched.
He probably hadn’t expected her to be so forward, and for a moment, he was too stunned to react.
Celeste Grant, now in his embrace, wrapped her arms tightly around his waist.
She hugged him tighter and tighter.
"You’re finally here, Archfiend!"
Celeste Grant buried her face in his chest. Only when she could truly feel his presence did she finally speak. "Do you have any idea how long I’ve been waiting?" ’And I was so worried something had happened to you.’
There had been no news of Javier Sinclair for the past six months, and it wasn’t that Celeste Grant hadn’t thought of searching for him. But with her level of Cultivation, she had no way to pinpoint his exact location. Unable to sense his presence, trying to traverse space to reach him was completely unrealistic. She could have easily been transported to some other unknown world instead.
As for Celeste Grant, who had thrown herself into his arms, Javier Sinclair lowered his head slightly to glance down at the woman in his embrace.
His hands, still outstretched, stiffened for a moment before he finally wrapped his arms around her.
"My wife, I’m back."
The words had escaped his lips subconsciously the moment he embraced her.
The moment the words were out, the tips of Javier Sinclair’s ears turned slightly red.
’How could I have said something like that? It’s so embarrassing.’ It was as if an uncontrollable voice had spoken directly from his heart.
The sensation was so familiar, as was the feeling of her in his arms. It was as if he had held her like this countless times before. Holding her now, listening to her call him "The Archfiend," Javier Sinclair felt an incredible sense of peace and comfort wash over him.
Hearing him speak,
Celeste Grant froze for a second.
’He called me his wife?’
She abruptly looked up at him. "Do you remember now?"
Javier Sinclair lowered his head slightly, meeting her bright, expectant eyes. But what he noticed most was that she had been crying.
"What are you crying for? I said I’d come for you, and I always keep my word. You women really can’t be without me for a single moment." Though his words were arrogant, his hand moved gently to wipe away her tears.
Celeste Grant said nothing, simply burying her head in his chest again.
Hearing his voice.
Feeling the strong, steady beat of his heart.
He was truly, tangibly alive.
Celeste Grant smiled, but her eyes glistened with tears.
’He’s really alive, and he’s really back by my side.’
A hand gently came to rest on the back of her head, stroking it softly.
The two embraced for a while. After Celeste Grant’s emotions had stabilized, she placed a hand lightly on his chest and said, "It’s been so long. So you did remember to come back."
As she spoke, she tilted her head up to look at him, then reached out to cup his face, studying him.
"It’s good that you’re back."
"I missed you so much, Archfiend."
"My dear husband."
Her hand gently caressed his cheek as she whispered, "Welcome home, father of my child." Her soft voice landed gently in his heart.
’So this is my Taoist Companion? Not bad.’
"I missed you."
"Javier Sinclair."
Hearing her say again and again how much she missed him, Javier Sinclair felt his heart warm and his face flush red. He was clearly overjoyed. And yet, he felt as if she wasn’t talking about *him*, and he couldn’t stop the jealousy welling up inside.
At this thought, and seeing her gaze still fixed on him, Javier Sinclair grabbed one of Celeste Grant’s wrists, his eyes locked on her face. He raised a single eyebrow. "Am I handsome? Or is that other man of yours more handsome?"
’That other man of mine?’
’Who else could I possibly have besides him?’
Celeste Grant: "..."
The father of her child was truly capable of saying the most shocking things. With that one question, the atmosphere instantly solidified into a three-person Asura’s Field. Seeing his jealous, gloomy expression, the corner of Celeste Grant’s mouth twitched.
"That other man of mine?" she asked icily, giving him an annoyed look. "And which man might my husband be referring to?"
Javier Sinclair sneered. "Who do you think I’m talking about? Your ex-husband."
The moment he said "ex-husband,"
Celeste Grant was struck completely silent.
Celeste Grant: "..."
’Oh, for the love of... You guys are not going to believe this.’
’A couple, separated for a long time, finally reunites. And what happens? Not only does he not remember me, but he’s also cast himself in the role of the other man. If you’re asking how I feel right now, my feelings are just so damn complicated. Hah! Who wouldn’t be confused when an ’ex-husband’ suddenly pops out of nowhere?’
’My heart ached for him, it really did, but what was this sudden urge to kick him a couple of times?!’
’Calm down! Stay composed.’
Celeste Grant glanced at him.
’The father of my child has lost his mind. And he lost it saving me. So I have to be patient with him. Very patient.’
Seeing her silence, Javier Sinclair became even more convinced that he held no place in Celeste Grant’s heart. She really did prefer the old Javier Sinclair.
He let out a derisive "Oh-ho."
"Oh-ho! I hit the nail on the head, didn’t I? All that talk about missing someone... it wasn’t about me at all. From the very beginning, it was all about your ex-husband. I’m just his stand-in! You’ve got some nerve, woman, daring to treat me like someone else."
He lowered his voice, speaking through gritted teeth. But for all his harsh words, his hands never left her waist. ’This man and his ridiculous pride.’ Celeste Grant didn’t even have the energy to argue with him.
Celeste Grant looked at him, completely exasperated. "So, buddy, what exactly do you want me to say?"
’You’ve already said it all.’
’You’ve even conjured up an ’ex-husband.’ What’s left for me to say?!’
Javier Sinclair shot her a look. "Buddy? You call him ’husband’ but you call me ’buddy.’ I knew it. There’s no place for me in your heart at all."
’Wow, the jealousy is practically dripping off him.’
’Being jealous of other people was one thing, but she never thought she’d see the day her own Archfiend was jealous of *himself*. And to this ridiculous extent! It was just absurd.’
Celeste Grant glanced at him. "Let’s just go home first."
With that, she took his hand, and in the blink of an eye, both their figures vanished from the sky.
When their figures reappeared, they were back in the living room of Celeste Grant’s home.
As soon as their feet touched the ground, Javier Sinclair still refused to let go of her.
"Forget it. I’m not the kind of person to fuss over trivial matters. An ex-husband is just an ex-husband, after all." ’Even if that man were standing right in front of me, could I possibly lose to him? Doesn’t matter if fate tied the knot wrong; her Taoist Companion right now is me, and that’s a fact.’ With that thought, he had already managed to talk himself into a better mood.
