With the Spiritual Energy Revival on Earth, this world has entered the Cultivation Era.

She had done what she needed to do, so now Celeste Grant didn’t have to do anything else.

Celeste Grant gently tugged his hand. "Let’s go shopping."

As she spoke, the two of them vanished from their doorstep and reappeared near a commercial street.

The two walked hand in hand down the street.

The commercial street was brightly lit at night.

A single glance revealed rows of open businesses and various company offices, alongside women’s and children’s clothing stores, snack shops, and milk tea shops.

The street was bustling with activity.

As they walked, Javier Sinclair found himself surprised. He hadn’t seen any fighting or killing at all.

In his experience, any part of the Cultivation World operated on the principle that the strong preyed on the weak. Fighting over resources, murder, and robbery were commonplace. Yet, this world was astonishingly harmonious. The streets were clean and tidy, filled with people and vehicles, and everything was perfectly orderly.

"This world is... different," he said, his gaze fixed on the streetlights. "They glow without any discernible energy source."

He glanced at the ground as he spoke. "And this ground... it’s incredibly hard. These buildings have no fluctuations from Arrays, yet they can be built so tall."

Celeste Grant nodded slightly.

"This is the power of technology. We’re in the modern world," she explained. "Those buildings are made of steel and concrete. As long as the foundation is solid, building them twenty or thirty stories high is no problem. The streetlights and the lights in our house are electric lamps. You can’t break the wires, or you’ll get an electric shock—it’s just like being struck by lightning."

He looked fascinated. "I never imagined lightning could be used this way."

"This world is quite interesting. They all manage to coexist so harmoniously."

Celeste Grant smiled faintly. "You mean this world is very peaceful, right? In truth, a long time ago, it was also rife with war. This peace was earned by our ancestors, who fought to the death, sacrificing countless heroes to protect it. That’s why everyone treasures their current lives. When you can live peacefully, who would go looking for trouble and bloodshed? The people of Veridia are very united."

"Yes, I can see that."

He nodded slightly.

"Also..."

His voice trailed off for a moment as his gaze swept over the Cultivators among the pedestrians.

Most of the ones he saw were Cultivators at the First or Second Level of Energy Refining. With his own cultivation base, he could tell at a glance that their innate talent and aptitude were decent, but their cultivation levels were truly low. As far as he could see, he couldn’t find a single Cultivator in the Foundation Establishment Stage.

Thinking of this, he remarked, "The Spiritual Energy in this world is very thin."

Hearing this, she replied, "This is already a huge improvement. Six months ago, there was no Spiritual Energy here at all."

He froze.

"Six months?"

He was slightly shocked.

He looked at the Cultivators around them, mostly at the First and Second Level of Energy Refining, with a few at the Third, Fifth, or Sixth. On the surface, it wasn’t impressive, but if they had only been cultivating for half a year, then their progress was extraordinary.

"Pretty good talent, huh?" Celeste Grant said with a small laugh. "It’s only because they have no Cultivation Resources and must rely on the thin Spiritual Energy. Otherwise, they would have broken through long ago. The Spiritual Energy Revival only just began, so the ambient energy is still quite sparse."

’When it comes to the daily grind, who could possibly be more intense than people used to a ’996’ work culture? If they’re that competitive about their jobs, what do you think they’re like with Cultivation? The entire nation is grinding. After all, who among them hasn’t dreamed of becoming a cultivator? Now that it’s a reality, of course the competition is fierce.’

"Wait... I have a question. You didn’t live in this world before, did you?"

The last time he had seen her in the Sea of the Primordial Spirit, he had investigated their connection and witnessed a scene of another Javier Sinclair becoming her Taoist Companion. That place was not this world.

Celeste Grant nodded. "Mm-hmm."

She didn’t hide anything, telling him directly, "That’s right. I returned to this world a little over six months ago. You have amnesia, so you don’t remember. Back then, the Cultivation World we were in was invaded by a race from the Outer Realms. The Immortal and Demonic Paths joined forces to fight them off. We killed all the invading monsters, but the battle tore open the void, creating a cataclysm. A powerful suction nearly pulled the entire Cultivation World into it... Actually, it’s better if you just see for yourself."

As she spoke, she raised her hand and used Magic to trace back through her memories. As long as he held her hand, he would be able to see everything she had.

The two of them stood still.

The Magic took effect, and in the next moment, the scene before his eyes transformed.

All that appeared before him were scenes from the great war in the Cultivation World. He saw The Immortal and Demonic Paths joining forces to fight against the Outer Realms Race. In that moment, there was no distinction between immortal and demon; long-standing enemies from both paths fought back-to-back.

He saw her sacrificing herself for the sake of the world, while the other Javier Sinclair cried his eyes out. Fortunately, at the final moment, an immense power erupted from the other Javier’s body.

He casually merged with the Great Dao and mended the void.

That person felt deeply familiar, as if it were himself, and yet not. The feeling was profoundly contradictory.

Even he would be incapable of wielding such power.

It was not a power that a Cultivator could possess.

It was Divine Power.

His vision swam, and he was back in the present.

He saw Celeste Grant looking at him, her expression tender. She reached out and gently caressed his cheek. "That’s all in the past now. Don’t cry, my Archfiend."

Javier Sinclair froze. Only then did he realize he was crying.

WHOOSH...

His face flushed beet red.

Javier Sinclair hurriedly tried to explain.

"No, I wasn’t... That wasn’t me."

’I’m the supreme ruler of the Demonic Domain, yet I resonated with those images and started crying uncontrollably.’

’How humiliating! Utterly humiliating! Just a moment ago, I was thinking that the other Javier Sinclair, crying his eyes out, was a disgrace to all men. I never thought my own words would come back to bite me so quickly.’

’Now that she’s seen me like this, will she think I’m not man enough?’

’If word of this gets out, my lifelong reputation will be completely ruined.’

’This must be the influence of her long-dead ex-husband. A man like me wouldn’t even flinch if a sword was plunged into my body.’

He tried to explain again.

"That really wasn’t me."

’Damn it.’

’Why won’t these tears stop?’

’Get a grip.’

’This is completely out of character for me.’

Celeste Grant didn’t laugh. Instead, she wrapped her arms around him. "My Archfiend, you’re the most handsome no matter what you’re like."

’She would never forget the helpless way he had cried when he couldn’t save her. He had been genuinely willing to trade his life for hers. And it was because of her that he had unleashed the power of the Demon God, causing that body of his to crumble under the strain.’

Held in her embrace, Javier Sinclair felt his heart instantly grow calm.

He wrapped his arms around her and rested his head lightly on Celeste Grant’s shoulder. "I would never be so disgraceful. That was your ex-husband." ’That’s right, it wasn’t me, it was the other Javier Sinclair,’ he thought. ’Heh, that makes me feel much better. Useless men just cry. From now on, I will be the one to protect Celeste.’

Seeing his stubborn denial, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but feel a little exasperated.

’Such a stubborn man.’

Celeste Grant gently patted his back.

"Mm-hmm, whatever you say."
