At that moment, Lily Paxton pointed at the Ancient Mirror in Celeste Grant’s hands. Her mouth hung open, but all that came out was a stuttered "Ah, ah, ah..." She couldn’t form a single word.

"Ah, ah, ah..."

’What did I just see? The mirror is talking! Miss Grant’s mirror has come alive!’ Seeing a person who could speak from inside a mirror was likely too much for her to comprehend.

Standing beside her, Celeste Grant smiled and gently patted Lily Paxton’s shoulder. "It’s okay, don’t be so nervous, Lily. This isn’t an ordinary mirror; it’s a Magic Treasure. It allows me to see my husband, even though we’re thousands of miles apart."

Lily Paxton stood rooted to the spot, her gaze fixed on the Ancient Mirror in Celeste’s hands. She nodded slightly, looking as though she understood and yet didn’t understand at all.

Celeste Grant glanced at her. Thinking of the God this village worshipped, she smiled and said, "Heh, I’ve got a surprise for you." As she spoke, her gaze shifted to Javier Sinclair in the Ancient Mirror. She pointed at the figure within, then motioned for Lily Paxton to look. "Take a closer look, sis. Does he remind you of anyone?"

Hearing this, Lily Paxton followed Celeste Grant’s gaze back to the Ancient Mirror. She had come over earlier and had unintentionally seen a person inside the mirror Miss Grant was holding.

The speaking figure had seemed familiar at first glance, but her shock at a talking Ancient Mirror had been so overwhelming that she couldn’t say a word. In her astonishment, she had overlooked the familiarity. Now, with Celeste Grant mentioning it, her eyes fell upon the figure in the Ancient Mirror once more.

He had only seemed familiar before, but as she looked closer now, Lily Paxton instinctively craned her neck.

"He... he..."

’That face in the Ancient Mirror is so familiar.’

"I’ve definitely seen him! Miss Grant, I’ve definitely seen him before! He looks like... like that one person from our village." She was sure she knew him. Her face was flushed with excitement, yet she couldn’t put a name to the face.

It was Celeste Grant who took her hand, turning her to point toward the village’s ancestral hall. "Look there," she said. "Sis, don’t you think he looks a little like the statue of the God you all worship in the hall? In fact, I’d say they’re identical."

As Celeste Grant finished speaking, Lily Paxton’s eyes flew wide in shock. Her gaze darted toward her village’s ancestral hall, then swiveled stiffly back to the Ancient Mirror in Celeste’s hands.

She swallowed instinctively.

That was it.

She finally remembered who the figure in the Ancient Mirror reminded her of. It was the God they worshipped every year in the village ancestral hall!

’No, it wasn’t just a resemblance—it was the God himself! I’ve worshipped him since I was a child. The statue of the God in our village looks exactly like this. I couldn’t possibly be mistaken!’

Lily Paxton’s hands trembled slightly.

She looked at Celeste Grant, and as if thinking this was all a dream, she instinctively pinched the back of her hand. "Ouch, that hurts."

She could feel the pain, which meant this was real. After a long moment, she finally mumbled, "Miss Grant... I... I think I just saw the God manifest." ’What have I ever done to deserve the fortune of seeing a God?’

AAAAHHH! In that moment, Lily Paxton was screaming internally.

She had seen a God, a living God.

Everyone in the village believed that the God who had always protected them was real. Lily Paxton believed it too, because their village had always enjoyed the God’s favor. She just never imagined she would one day witness the God manifest with her own eyes.

Seeing her so excited she was speechless, Celeste Grant smiled, waved a hand in front of her face, and whispered, "Back to earth."

Right now, only one thought echoed in Lily Paxton’s mind: ’I saw the God manifest. He manifested in my own village. A real God manifested!’ The delayed realization finally hit her, and her legs gave out. With a THUD, she dropped to her knees and began to kowtow.

"Lily Paxton, a villager of Kheris, pays her respects to the God!"

"Please, God, grant us your blessing!"

Her expression was utterly serious; this time, she didn’t look up. ’Staring at the God like that must be blasphemy,’ she thought. ’It’s disrespectful.’

As she spoke, she had already pressed her palms together in prayer.

"I failed to recognize you, God. Please forgive my offense."

Seeing this, Javier Sinclair was rendered speechless. "..."

His expression was complicated, his stoic composure cracking slightly. Mortals were supposed to worship the Gods of the Nine Heavens. He was a Demon God from the Demon Realm. Was this even appropriate?

Even in the Mortal Realm, the Demon Realm was considered a symbol of evil.

At this moment, Javier Sinclair ignored the worshipping villager, Lily Paxton, and turned his gaze to Celeste Grant. "I’m coming to find you now," he said.

Celeste Grant nodded slightly.

"Okay, I’ll be waiting."

With that, the image in the Ancient Mirror vanished.

She casually put the Mysterious Ancient Mirror away.

Hearing the silence, Lily Paxton finally raised her head. She glanced at Celeste Grant and saw that the Ancient Mirror she had been holding moments ago was gone. The figure of the God within it had vanished as well.

Lily Paxton’s gaze fell on Celeste Grant. Until now, she had always thought of Celeste as a kind older sister figure. But now, she found she couldn’t quite bring herself to call her that.

’A person who can speak with a God... Who exactly is this Miss Grant?’

"Miss... Miss Grant."

She seized on the crucial point.

’Didn’t Miss Grant say that the man in the Ancient Mirror was her husband...? Wait... husband!’ Belatedly, she felt like she had just learned something absolutely incredible.

"You... Miss Grant, are you the God’s wife?"

Hearing her trembling voice and seeing her look of utter disbelief, Celeste Grant simply smiled.

She stepped forward and offered a hand to Lily Paxton. "Get up first."

Lily Paxton reached out, but just as her fingers were about to touch Celeste’s, she instinctively bowed her head. "I don’t dare."

A hand reached out, grasped hers, and gently pulled her to her feet. "Since you call me Miss Grant, I’ll always be your Miss Grant."

"Miss Grant."

Lily Paxton looked up slightly, meeting Celeste’s gentle gaze and smiling face. This was, without a doubt, the same cheerful Miss Grant who had been staying at her home these past days.

But thinking back on what had just happened, it still felt like a dream. She felt like she had so much she wanted to say, but now that she had the chance, the words wouldn’t come.

"Miss... Miss Grant, just now..." She trailed off, but her hesitant expression said it all. Celeste Grant knew exactly what she wanted to ask.

Celeste Grant couldn’t help but smile. "The God your village worships," she said, "he is indeed my husband. I only realized it myself today when I saw the statue. I’ll tell you the details later." As she spoke, she glanced at Lily Paxton, then lifted her gaze to the heavens.
