Chapter 474 - 472: Could It Be That His Eight-Pack Abs Weren’t Hard Enough?
No, that was nothing. She would make Celeste Grant’s current man fall head over heels for her. Then, she’d have him kill Celeste Grant with his own two hands. Tsk tsk, how terrible it must feel to be killed by the father of your own child.
’Celeste Grant, this is what you owe me.’
She could already picture the sight of Celeste Grant, heartbroken and in tears.
"HAHAHAHA..."
Her laughter was a little crazed—no, unhinged would be a better word. Then again, Jocelyn Grant’s mind had never been right.
And just like that, Jocelyn Grant went to the Demonic Domain all by herself...
Of course, Celeste Grant found out on the very first day Jocelyn arrived, and she knew exactly what her rival had been up to.
At first, Celeste Grant was rather curious. ’What will she do?’
Then, she heard the news. After arriving in Ashkaron, Jocelyn had entered the Lunara Pavilion. Veiled, her captivating dance made her the star attraction there, the top courtesan. Countless Cultivators from the Demonic Domain were mesmerized, longing to catch a glimpse of her true face. In an instant, Jocelyn Grant’s fame skyrocketed, making her known to every Cultivator in the domain.
Upon hearing this news, Celeste Grant nearly sprayed a mouthful of tea right in the Third Elder’s face.
Thankfully, Celeste ducked her head just in time, though she still ended up choking on the sip.
’Hahaha, what the hell?’
"Come again?"
’Good heavens... What in the world did I just hear?’
Celeste Grant looked up, her face a mask of disbelief, unable to stop herself from asking again.
In response to her question, the Third Elder standing before her had a rather colorful expression on her own face. Her look seemed to say, ’I’d like to know that myself.’
The elder opened her mouth to speak. "Ma’am, I followed your instructions and had my people keep an eye on the Warren family’s movements. The person behind them this time is that Crow Princess—no, I mean the princess of the Golden Crow Clan. She’s the one who came to the Demonic Domain."
’If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I’d be wondering if that princess of the Golden Crow Clan is right in the head,’ the elder thought. ’She’s a princess of Celestria, for crying out loud. Why on earth would she decide to go dancing for the amusement of others? And become famous for it? Even if she’s wearing a veil so no one can see her face, it doesn’t change the fact that she’s from Celestria.’
With that thought, the Third Elder nodded slightly and said in a low voice, "Ma’am, I saw it with my own eyes. That princess of the Golden Crow Clan is in Ashkaron right now. She’s become the top attraction at the Lunara Pavilion, and now countless male Cultivators in the Demonic Domain want to get a look at her real face."
’How exciting!’
’They must feel like they’ve reached the pinnacle of existence. The male Cultivators of our Demonic Domain, that is. To actually get to see someone from Celestria come dance for them.’
Celeste Grant: "..."
Heh!
A captivating dance behind a veil? Countless male Cultivators in the Demonic Domain dying to see her true face? It was no wonder Celeste Grant had choked on her tea after learning that Jocelyn Grant had performed a "city-toppling" dance at the Lunara Pavilion.
What kind of place was the Lunara Pavilion? It was an enterprise under the Demonic Domain’s banner, the largest entertainment venue in Ashkaron. There, you could enjoy tenderness as gentle as a spring breeze and receive treatment fit for an emperor.
"I... I’m truly speechless." Celeste didn’t know how to describe the complicated feelings swirling within her. ’To think I ever considered her a rival... that was my own failing.’ She let out a tsk and couldn’t help but sigh, "Jocelyn Grant, it was my mistake to ever consider you an opponent."
Celeste Grant figured that Jocelyn Grant must have been the protagonist in some trashy Cultivation novel for a time. That had to be it. Because even though her circumstances had changed, her brain clearly hadn’t been upgraded to match.
’Generally speaking, what do the heroines of those trashy novels have in their heads? Men. It’s always men, nothing but men. That, and all sorts of pointless drama, meaningless fights, and senseless squabbles.’
’So, by running off to the Lunara Pavilion to become its top courtesan, what is Jocelyn Grant trying to take this time? What is she fighting over?’
The thought actually made her a little curious. While Jocelyn’s logic was always bizarre, Celeste happened to be terribly bored lately. She might as well sit back and enjoy the show.
After reporting on Jocelyn Grant’s activities, the Third Elder took her leave.
Celeste Grant stood in place for a moment, then decided to go investigate in person.
Immediately, Celeste Grant called for a handmaiden to look after the baby.
She glanced at them and said, "Elise should be waking up soon. The milk bottle is being kept warm with Magic by The Exalted One. Feed her when she wakes up. The Exalted One and I need to go out for a while."
The handmaiden replied respectfully.
"Yes, Ma’am. Please don’t worry. I will take good care of the Young Venerable."
Celeste Grant bent down and kissed her daughter, then stroked the soft tuft of hair on her head before pulling the small blanket up over her. After that, she tiptoed out of the room.
Just as she reached the door, she nearly collided with Javier Sinclair, who was walking in. He reached out and caught her by the arm.
"What’s the rush? Where are you off to, my dear? You’re not even watching where you’re going."
Celeste Grant smiled.
"Who says I wasn’t watching? I saw you coming," Celeste Grant said, reaching out to take Javier Sinclair’s hand. She continued, "My dear Archfiend, you’re just in time. Come on, let your wife take you out for some fun at the Lunara Pavilion. I hear a new Spellsong Mage who’s great on the zither just started there. Supposedly has an eight-pack and legs for days. Let’s go check him out."
The moment the words left her mouth, Javier Sinclair froze. When he finally processed what kind of place she was talking about, his expression went completely stiff.
’A Spellsong Mage who’s great on the zither?’
’And legs for days and an eight-pack?’
’Heh! Fine. Just fine, Celeste Grant. You’ve got some nerve.’
His gaze shifted to Celeste Grant’s face, a dangerous glint in his eyes. His expression hardened, and he let out a low, chilling laugh. "The wind is quite loud, my dear. Your husband didn’t quite hear you. What was it you just said?"
Javier Sinclair: "..."
He remained silent, his face cold.
But inside, he was roaring.
’AAAAAHHH! This heartless little thing! How long has it been, and her eyes are already wandering! Fickle and flighty! Now she’s even thinking about other male Cultivators! Who?! Who is this shameless bastard seducing my wife?! Get your ass out here! When I find this shameless fool, I’ll twist his head off and turn it into a wine goblet! If I don’t, then my name isn’t Javier Sinclair, the Archfiend!’
Just as he was imagining twisting someone’s head off, he noticed Celeste Grant’s gaze land on his face, then travel down his body.
’What does she mean by that?’ He glanced down at his own chest, and then at his legs, which were practically longer than her lifespan.
’Could it be? Is my eight-pack not... firm enough?’
’Are my legs not long enough?’
’How could she ignore a prime specimen like him to go look at some damn Spellsong Mage?’
’It’s just playing a zither or a flute, isn’t it? I can do that too! I’m probably even better at it! And there’s no way that Spellsong Mage is better-looking than me. Impossible. In all the Three Realms, there’s no other face like mine.’
Standing in the doorway, Celeste Grant saw his silence and knew that her dear Archfiend’s jar of vinegar had been knocked over.
"Oh my, Archfiend, do you smell something?"
He kept his expression stern.
"And what smell would that be, my dear?"
’It’s the smell of my heart breaking. It’s so sour, so very sour.’
’He wanted to drink vinegar right now—the kind you chug straight from the jar.’
